Chapter 2: Interrogation
"This is Agent Patel, the suspect for the illegal poison seller is now under my custody. Please dispatch backup and surround the shop."
As soon as the customer turned undercover agent finished speaking on his phone, Eirik didn't bother to talk anymore. He had been screaming and informing Agent Patel that he wasn't Lorcan Grimhawk, but he was ignored throughout the whole thing.
'Sigh, am I going to be jailed for 15 years?'
These were the thoughts of Eirik as he looked at the handcuffs in his wrist. After all, unauthorized selling of poison to the public is a major offense that can get the criminal incarcerated and worse… they will be thrown in a dungeon and work there as a miner of Mana Stones for life.
"Lorcan Grimhawk. It was difficult to trace the individual selling poison here in Luminaris City. If you hadn't accepted a custom order from another city, you would still be here selling."
Eirik recalled how the 'sweet and spicy' order came to be. There was a regular customer who introduced his friend from another city. At that time the customer was acting very differently from usual. It was as if he was hiding something. Maybe back then, the customer was already snitching about the store.
"Hey! I am just an employee here. I am not Lorcan Grimhawk!"
Now that the store is discovered to be selling poison unauthorized, Eirik uses the employee card. According to the Law, employees only need to be incarcerated for 3 months. If they weren't of legal age yet when they were taken in custody, only a month in jail.
Hearing the words of Eirik, Agent Patel took out his phone and showed a scanned document towards Eirik.
"If you are not Lorcan then explain this!"
Eirik towards the phone that the Agent showed him. It was a business registration permit with his picture but something was different. The name beneath the picture wasn't his birth name!
"What the-! How did this happen?!"
Did his uncle make him the scapegoat? Was that the reason why he was always here handling the shop, while his uncle stayed in his office at home in order to make poison?
"What a shitty uncle! By now he must be running away for his life!"
"If you can prove that you are not Lorcan Grimhawk, you can be set free. But for now, you will be incarcerated."
Hearing the words of Agent Patel, Eirik knew for sure that he could prove that. In this world, once he awakens his System Window, his true identity will be revealed.
"Just so you wait, once I awaken on my birthday I will prove to you who I really am."

Walking out of the Grimhawk Alchemy Store, it was surrounded by black hovering cars. These were the cars used by the Government Agents in order to capture Awakened Criminals.
"I am not yet awakened, why are you treating me as if I have superpowers already?"
While being held by Agent Patel, Eirik couldn't help but ask as he felt confused of what was currently happening right now?
"You are an unlicensed poison seller, what if you are hiding something potent with you? Do you want us to risk ourselves by handling someone like you?"
Hearing the reasoning of Agent Patel, Eirik didn't talk back anymore.
Due to the commotion, people came out from the surrounding stores in order to watch the spectacle.
Being the center of their attention, Eirik became red with embarrassment. Although he was innocent, it was a fact that he will soon be known as a criminal in front of these people even after he proved that he was not the criminal.
'Hopefully the process of getting out of jail will be less than 6 months. If it was more than that, I will never be able to claim the jackpot anymore.'
When he was nearing one of the car parks there, he heard the chatter of the neighboring shop owners.
"I heard that Alchemy Store is selling poison without any authorization... What a scumbag. The shopkeeper isn't even 20 yet."
"Because he was a young man, I thought he would be decent but... I actually misjudged him."
As those words reached his ears, Eirik couldn't help but let out a bitter smile. The image he built up is now crumbling before his eyes. However, it was true that he was selling poison.
It was against the law to sell it without any authorization, but he still insisted on following the order of his uncle.
"Sigh, once I get out of jail, I will never return here."

Arriving at the Poison Control Department, he was taken to an interrogation room. The room was dim and there was a lampshade on the table for the Agent to read the documents very clearly. Having this in his sight, Eirik couldn't help but complain a little.
'They should have just set up a stronger light that is able to brighten up the whole room.'
Eirik was guided to sit in a seat with a metal chain on the arm rest where he would be putting his arm on so he wouldn't be able to escape.
'Why am I being treated as a heinous criminal? I just sell poisons.'
"Lorcan Grimhak, even though you declared that you are a Useless Class, it turns out you've been hiding your true class."
Useless Class (U- Class), it was the lowest class of Awakened that made them no different from normal people. They didn't receive any special traits, skills and abilities. They are just ordinary.
"I am not awakened yet, how could I possibly have a class?"
What the officers were suspecting him of doing, were actually of his uncle's doing. His uncle was 33 years old, obviously he was the one they were referring to.
"As soon as it was your birthday, you immediately registered as a Useless Class. Many Guilds were looking forward to what your class would be because of your Top Mage Class (TM- Class) brother, Lorenz Grimhawk."
'Dad...'
"When your brother perished in a Dungeon, you immediately went into hiding until you revealed yourself a year later in order to take in custody the son of Lorenz... Eirik Grimhawk!"
"That's me! I am Eirik Grimhawk!"
As soon as Agent Pantel said Eirik's name, he couldn't help but shout at the fact that he was the son of Lorenz and not his uncle.
"Don't pretend to be someone else. We have here a document with your picture. Although your looks stayed the same, you are Lorcan Grimhawk."
What documents are they pertaining to? Was it those scanned documents that he showed to Eirik earlier?
"Those are fake!"
'Because Uncle is my guardian, he was able to get hold of my legal documents and made me the owner of the store.'
"I- I don't have my own system window, check it yourself."
200 years ago, people began to awaken as soon as they turned 20 years old. At first, only a handful awakened but as years passed by they increased until the majority became awakened and those unawakened became rare.
70 years after those Awakened appeared, they developed a device that showed the system window.
"Ha! You were able to yourself under the Useless Class, obviously you have some tricks out there!"
No matter how much Eirik defended himself, they were able to counter with information that wasn't his.
