Chapter 3: Duel

Three days later…

In a large grandstand, many students and professors from the academy were visible.

Today was the day when Alan's duel took place.

He was standing in the arena while evaluating many students and teachers.

Several students were two or three times stronger than him. While the teachers, even the weakest, were dozens of times stronger than him.

It didn't make him afraid or lose his pride, but it made his heartbeat with excitement.

It wouldn't be funny if it were different.

Well ... in the end, it didn't matter ... he would end up overcoming everyone in a very short time.

"Hmm?"

A great commotion caught the attention of Alan, who looked in that direction.

It was the boy who challenged him. The boy, who had blue eyes and golden hair, carried an expression of arrogance and walked with slow steps. He then turned to Alan and gave a cold smile.

"This is Randal!"

"Yes! He is the genius of the Kroft family!"

"They say he will outdo his older brother, who is also a genius, in a few years."

Hearing many comments about this young man, Alan assessed his status.

'Is that a genius?'

Alan asked in his thoughts.

He was sure that he would defeat this boy in a few moments.

It didn't take long for Randal to go on stage, staying close to Alan.

Even though he knew that his opponent was weaker, Alan did not dare to underestimate him. He had no battle experience, other than that he did not know his opponent's abilities.

Alan then went into battle, placing his right foot a few inches behind his left, raising his fists at nose level, with his left fist in front.

"What is that ?! Ha, ha, ha!"

Randal laughed with an expression of contempt. He was not taking his enemy seriously.

"Start!"

The judge, who was in charge of that fight, shouted.

"Die!"

Randal shouted as he ran towards Alan, who did not move from his position.

"Why doesn't he move ?!"

"Was he afraid?"

"Not…"

Some teachers commented with diverse expressions.

Alan noticed that the fist was coming towards his face, but for him, it was in slow motion.

With minimal movements, he - Alan - deflected his opponent's attack, putting his face slightly to the left.

Woooosh!

The wind sounded in his left ear.

"!!!"

Alan crouched on the floor, dodging a spinning kick.

"Impossible!"

Randal murmured.

Alan then continued to dodge the punches and kicks of his opponent, who was getting irritated, consequently, making stupid mistakes.

"Stop dodging, idiot!"

Stopping a few feet from his opponent, Alan raised his palm and pointed at his opponent.

"!!!"

Randal carefully placed himself on guard.

"Fireball!"

Alan screamed while a basketball-sized fireball was thrown at his opponent.

Randal, who predicted the ball's trajectory, smiled contemptuously.

"Are you blind, idiot ?!"

He screamed as he watched the ball hit the ground in front of him.

Many were confused by the fact of the wrong trajectory, even mocking Alan, but the teachers, who had a lot of battle experience, noticed Alan's goal.

"Simple, yet effective."

The professor of the magic theory said.

Many teachers nodded, seeing the ball hitting the ground and creating a large smokescreen.

"As?!"

Randal, who was immersed in smoke, did not notice when Alan appeared behind him, kicking him powerfully in the back and pushing him out of the arena.

"Randal fell from the arena. Ren is the winner!"

The judge announces with a tone of surprise in his voice.

In heaven, a man, who was floating and watching the fight, put a smile on his face.

"Our son has grown up, Mia."

He said. He then disappeared like a ghost.

"Have you made up your mind yet?"

"Yes. I am going after my wife ..."

"But… your son."

The academy director, who was a very mysterious and powerful person in the hearts of all students and teachers, was addressing Alan's father with great respect.

"He'll be fine ... you know that. He's her son, after all."

"Haa! You… forget it."

The director sighed.

"Thank you, friend…"

Alan was in his room, he noticed that, after this fight, the awakening of his lineage increased again.

He was also happy that he didn't have to use his eyes to win the fight.
