Chapter 59: Here in Valtuz

Vampa, Burya, and Schwarze flew in the sky to scout out the city. I used Overvision to see in their perspective to find a rebel hideout and some rebels walking around. All I see is people walking around like nothing is going on. Well, seeing things from the outside won't do much for me, so I better head inside.

"Gris, Hyoran, Paura, we're coming in. Taudera, Stein, Flammen, go to the mountain behind the city, don't let them find you." I said.

We began walking towards the city and activated Concealment on top of the cloak's Concealment. On our way there, we see a carriage and it is stopped by the guards stationed there. There are also people who went on foot are waiting on a line. However, we can just sneak by.

We walked past the guards at the entrance and entered the city of Valtuz at long last. But I didn't come here for sightseeing.

This place has signs for what kind of rank for a citizen must have to receive service. If they don't have the rank, they're booted out. Obviously, they have

This city is where players buy weapons and armor in levels 50 to 200. Of course, there are rarities in the shop that can go from common to rare. I remember watching a stream where this P2W* Whale Man Whore who is running around flexing his wealth with his golden cosmetic costume over with his Legendary level 500 gear. While I was a Volcanic Bull at the time, I decided to humiliate him by ramming through Valtuz and ram him as well.

His reaction and the look on his face, it was priceless. The crazy part is, he is 30 levels higher than me and yet he died like he had no armor at all.

Of course I'll do it again if the opportunity rises here. But first, when it comes to rebels, it's usually in the restaurant or the bar. Or maybe an alleyway.

Alleyway it is. Since there will be cities having alleyways which is unavoidable when it comes to high density cities.

We walk into the alleyway where less people would go to and undid our Concealment skill. We look at multiple people standing around, keeping guard of a door. The people there are less than prim and proper. Like thugs lurking around, trying to gain a quick buck.

As soon as we reached there, turning to the corner where no citizen can see, we pulled back our hoods. Soon after, they noticed us.

"Hm? What's wrong, kids? Y'all lost?" one man said, sitting on the stairs, wearing a dark teal vest and black pants.

"No, we're here for something y'all have trouble with." I said. The man raised his eyebrows that I know something.

"Something we have trouble with? Like what?" the man asked.

"But first, mind letting us in? It's a touchy one." I asked. The men looked at each other and huddled.

"I think these kids aren't no ordinary kids." one bald man whispered.

"Yeah, also our rebellion has failed multiple times, most of which is before it even started."

"What about them? More of our guys are being sent to prison or killed. Some even left the city to save their skin."

"We need to do something or all of this is for nothing."

The men dispersed and the man wearing a dark teal vest walked towards us.

"Come on in." he said, gesturing us to come inside. We walked inside and went downstairs.

We continued walking down the wooden stairwell to see many other people waiting around, holding weapons, talking and laughing. One man looked out and called out

"Hey, Tommy! Got some new recruits?" he called.

"Yeah, but you might not like it." Tommy replied.

"Kids? And...holy shit, is that a S-Silver Wolf and a Scythe Spider?" he stammered, walking backwards.

"It's fine, Gris and Paura are with us." I said.

"Tommy...you took in a young Beastkin and a young Beast Tamer? Dude..." the man said, cringing.

"It ain't like that, Zach!" Tommy rebuked. "Come on inside."

We walked in to a room where there are many more people sitting in a large underground complex where there is a bar, restaurant, hospital, and armory. Hyoran is in awe of what is she seeing that there is something like that large exists. We then went into a large meeting room where many more people reside in.

We reached inside the meeting room and we see plenty of other people who looks like they've been through many battles and yet defeated as a result. Tiredness, apathy, resentment, and guilt.

Tommy walk on the podium and only a few ever looked, but not with excitement.

"Alright, you two introduce yourselves." Tommy said. I went first.

"My name is Kain. I am a human." I said.

"My name is Hyoran. I am a beastkin." Hyoran said.

After our introduction, nothing changed at all. So I kept going.

"This is our friend, Gris. He's a Silver Gale Wolf. And Paura, a Scythe Spider." I presented. Gris moved to my right and Paura jumped on the platform and screeched. It made a change.

"And this cute little fox is Fennec. She's a Flare Fox." Hyoran said. Fennec slipped into her arms and jumped on to the platform with Paura.

"Did he say Silver Gale Wolf?"

"That's a rare monster even in the entirety of Nolten Forest."

"The reason it didn't attack us is because of you're a Beast Tamer, right?" one woman with an eye patch asked.

"You can say it like that." I shrugged.

"Then you must be either a genius or a spoiled brat. Those monsters aren't ones to be tamed easily." she said.

"Kain is not spoiled." Hyoran pouted as she did not like that remark about me.

"Well, what if this spoiled brat can tame more than just three?" I said.

"Hah, I'd like to see that!" she chuckled.

"Mavros, Noire. Come on out." I said.

*Shoom!*

Noire jumped out of Hyoran's shadow and walked in front which surprised the people in the room.

*Whoooo...*

Then a black mist appeared from the shadows and manifested itself into a floating hooded being. This sight surprised them even more, some were even scared. The woman with an eye patch was soon silenced

"This is Mavros. He is a Dark Wraith." I said.

"That kid ain't just a Beast Tamer, he's a Necromancer!" the man yelled.

"A Dark Wraith!? That thing is nullifies Sunlight!" the other man added.

"Yep, but that's not all of them. I have a Thunder Crow, Flare Crow, Middle Wind Elemental, Despair Owl, Rock Bull, Rock Bear, and Flame Bear. I didn't bring them here because it'll bring too much attention." I explained.

"That's...12 monsters...all of them are strong in their own rights." another woman said.

"Now, the reason we came here is the bandits and this city's bogus system." I said, getting to the point. "My sources say that when you guys start rebellions, the feudal lord happens to end it in an instant, right?"

They bicker trying to get to know why or how a child knows their circumstances, but seeing that they have no other option, they listen.

"You're right about the feudal lord. Just when we're about to oust him, we ended up kneeling before him." One man said.

"Were your mind blank by then? Before the kneeling?" I asked.

"I don't know...it was as if I'm in control, but not what I wanted." One man answered.

"Hypnotism. He must have Hypnotism or Charm and a strong one at that, otherwise that lord would've been gone by now." I deduced, but that couldn't be it.

[Notice. After scanning, 73% of inhabitants have Tenacity to resist those skills. However, based on this man's answer, there is a skill that is far stronger than Hypnotism and Charm combined.]

Yikes, this must mean one thing, Noble's Authority or Absolute Order. These skills can make anyone unconditionally obey the user despite the skills to resist. The best solution is to stop him from casting. Thankfully, I can send Mavros there to sneak in so I can appraise the feudal lord and head back. I just hope that place isn't laced with Light or Holy Magic.

"Alright Mavros, go find the feudal lord and do not attack them inside." I ordered.

Mavros nodded and rose through the wall, leaving trails of black mist behind.

"A Beast Tamer and a Necromancer? Tommy, I think you brought in a gem." one man said with bandages over his right eye.

"Yeah..." Tommy said dumbfounded.

"Oh, Tommy, can you give us a tour? I wanna see what can we do with what we have." Kain said.

"Sure, and your name's Kain, right?" Tommy said.

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Name's Thompson Welt. Tommy for short." Thompson smiled, offering a handshake.

I shook his hand in kind. I believe I just made a new friend along the way.
