Chapter 17: Two years Later
After I evolved, I couldn't access any of the new stats. When I tried to see them I just got a timer, telling me to wait two years.
Today, Those two years were over, two years of governing the forest, learning to care for the inhabitants.
I had also learned how the barrier around the forest worked, it was kind of like doorbell, they stood at the barrier and I needed to say that they could enter.
I had instate the rule that if they tried to kill any of the animals of the forest they had to die. Something that I could do via the system and it would be enforced by the system itself.
I told the animals of the forest ot to start a fight with those passing through.
Another annoying detail I learned was that I could not level from beings that belonged to a one of my properties and I could barely level from beings that were a tier lower than me, meaning I would have to travel the world and hunt stronger monsters.
Finally, the day had come for me to fully awaken my evolution.
I had no knowledge of myself, no information about the race I had chosen, so I hoped that I had chosen something good.

Interesting, the light core had given me a skill that couldn't be leveled but was unique to monsters and it didn't have it's light element type, meaning that the digestion probably took that long because of it needed to cleanse the light energy.

Without warning, a huge amount of information coming from the evolved abilities flooded me, the hangover was back.
With the flood of information coming from the evolved skills, a small amount of info was attached about my new race.
It turned out that I had evolved into a race whose racial bleuprint has existed since the system was created but that has never been used until I awoke to it. Apparently, I would find a fated protege.
I would then have to protect her while also fulfilling conditions to advance to a higher tier. It also turns out that if I hadn't chosen this evolution, Allaster would have permanently died, so go me.
After finally unlocking my full capabilities, I hoped to relax and get on with my life for a few years before I would find my protege but I wasn't that lucky.

Nagiliant looked around to the changed forest, instead of the pure light mana that used to characterise this place, the air was filled with a variety of mana, including the base elements and even death mana.
"I didn't think the forest would've changed this much, the new owner is quite impressive."
Diana looked up at her, now adoptive, father. "What do you mean dad?"
"This was called the forest of ligh because it was one of the few places that had only one type of mana in the air, this means that the new owner has to have the added affinities, meaning that he, she or it, has access to all the basic elements."
She nodded in understanding. Then she helped her mother with the offering any traveler had to give to the new owner, me. When I let travelers through, all I asked was for a good meal, since this place was one of the few ways to get from one side of the continent to the next, I tended to eat well.
Hey, it's not because I don't get hungry that I don't enjoy food. They were preparing a hamurger for me, if it weren't for the fact that I had other things on my mind, I would've been extremely happy.
I had called Allaster and we were moving towards them at full speed, which, when you have a complete map of the forest means that we were nearly there five minutes after they'd entered.
Nagi and Markus could feel us coming, putting their hands on their weapons, they looked at the direction we would come from.
When they saw me and Allaster, they were dumbstruck, I had taken the shape of a Krisha, one that had died in the forest when a merchant had attacked the animals of the forest.
I had let most of them go, but one had fought back and tried to protect her owner, forcing us to kill the beautiful creature. I was still sad about having to do that.
Anyways, I'm drifting of topic. They were surprised by our appearance, seeing Allaster would probably make a lot of people throw up, I still took most of their attention.
After my evolution, every time I used stone armour, the stone changed to the same colour as me, I now knew that was because I had Perfect Refinement, wich instantly refined stones to an extremely high quality.
My Krisha body was a deep dark blue, the eyes a black abbys calling for life, my claws were made of crystalized elemental mana and I was two meters tall. I was probably a sight to behold, something that screamed of power even at the low tier II.
Aella spoke first. "Now, what in the world are you?"
