Chapter 14: C14: The Divine Five
August 5th, 2022 (Back on Earth when Xar was still Percy)
Location: Gorgrond Mountains
With a massive broadsword in his hand, the world's greatest player, Revlon the Vagabond walked the steep path up the mountains.
He wore only a tight long-sleeved shirt which was a magical armor and wrapped around him was the famed [Shadow Cloak]. Dark mist oozed out of this cloak as he walked with his white messy hair swaying in the wind.
Following behind him were the other 4 teammates of the Divine Five, each above the Lvl 900.
One was a girl who wore a black suit with a scarf around her neck. She had short dark hair. She was the famous shadow assassin named 'Tara.'
Behind her was Lucas, the Dark Knight, whose real name was 'Jay Conrad.' He was a rich man who bought his way up the ranks, but it didn't mean he was not skilled at using weapons.
Thirdly, it was Lucy, a witch wearing white shorts and a weird modernized hoodie with an anime girl face in the middle that clearly looked out of place in this medieval world. She was one of the world's fastest healers, which is why she had the title "Divine Healer."
Lastly, it was Yoku the Spirit Tamer. He always had a strange creature following behind him, at his shoulders or simply floating around him. He was the only player from Japan who was in the Divine Five. He too wore a dark cloak and had a body filled with tattoos of uncanny spirits and long braided hair that fell to his waist.
The five leisurely walked up the steep path for their new event.
"Ambush of the Goblin King in the Gorgrond Caves."
"Aye aye, so far…" Lucy groaned with heavy breaths, swaying from side to side as she walked. "Yoku, carry me," she pleaded with innocent eyes from the spirit tamer who was simply walking up the mountain with an unimpressed look on his face.
"No." He retorted.
"Aw, why you gotta be so rude always, Yoku," Lucy sighed.
"Tch," Yoku rolled his eyes.
Revlon turned around as he heard Lucy saying this with a smirk. "Oh, Lucy, want me to carry you then?"
Lucy scowled and looked away with a huff. "I'd rather die than let you touch me! You're probably a pedo!"
Revlon didn't stop grinning. He liked to annoy Lucy.
"Oh? Ask Tara. She met me in real life. Aren't I the most handsome guy you've ever met, Tara?"
"No, Percy looks like a gay pedo. Trust me guys," Tara replied with a smirk.
"Tara is fat in real life," Revlon added, getting ready to run up the hill.
"What did you say, Percy? You motherfucker!" Tara began to throw all her shadow knives at Percy, summoning them one by one. Revlon parried every one of them with a swing of his broadsword to every knife projected towards him with a wild grin.
"Hahaha! Try me, Tara!"
"Oh, I tried you last night! And it felt like shit!"
"Bahaha! Kill him, Tara my dear," Lucas, the knight dressed in black armor replied with an evil cackle. "Wait – tried?"
"My dear? Who the fuck do you think you are, Jackass!" Tara threw her 20th shadow knife at Lucas, which hit him right on the leg, piercing through his Level 15 armor.
"ARGH!" Blood burst out right at that moment, making Lucas scream in vain. This triggered Lucy, their healer, and she began to panic upon seeing the sight. Even though she was a healer, she always panicked when she saw blood.
"Oh, my God! Guys! Make it stop!" She cried out, summoning her white staff to her hand.
"Instant Heal!" She cried out, closing her eyes and pointing the staff towards Lucas.
[Health fully regenerated!]
"Ha… thank you, Lucy," Lucas laid back on the ground and sighed in relief.
It was always like this with the Divine Five. They were young brats from Earth anyways, so this is what they acted like when they were together, alone.
"We're almost there," Yoku declared to the group.
Everyone paused and gazed at the mountaintop to see whether the Goblins were rushing out from the peak. However, there was no sign of attackers yet.
"Guess no one knows that we're coming," Revlon said, resting his broadsword on his shoulder. "Yup, time to go streamer mode then, right guys?"
Everyone nodded in agreement, putting on their hoods and helmets, ready for the battle ahead.
"Stream mode, activate," Revlon ordered.
[Stream bot or first-person stream cam, Revlon?]
"Stream bot, please."
Suddenly, a magical circle drew on the mountain floor, and a small bot that looked like a camera with legs popped out of it.
Revlon placed the wolf's head over his face and waved at the streambot.
[100 – 1000 – 10000 views] The views began to pop over the streambot, increasing 10-fold each second that passed by.
"Evening, everyone," Revlon announced, saluting to the streambot. "As you can see, we are outside of the –"
"Evening lovelies! Mwah~" Lucy pushed away Revlon and jumped forth, blowing a kiss to the streambot's camera. "Anyways, we're in Gorgrond Mountains, guys! And you know what time it is! It's time for everyone to see your favorite team defeat the Goblin King!"
After greeting the audience through the camera, Lucy jumped to the side and shifted the streambot to Tara, who gave the middle finger to the camera without a word.
"Ok, and that's Tara. Say hi, Yoku!" she shifted it to Yoku, and Yoku gave the kindest smile to the camera.
"Ah, there it is, Yoku, my love," Lucy moaned. But as soon as she shifted the camera to the others, Yoku returned to his unimpressed face.
After everyone greeted the audience, they reached halfway up the mountain where the passage to the Gorgrond Caves was. After they reached the passage, the players stopped messing around.
Everyone got their weapons ready and stood before the cave with their streambot behind them.
"Lucy, refuel us!" Revlon declared. Lucy nodded and raised the staff, chanting, "Energy refill!"
[Energy fully recovered! You are now in optimized condition!]
"Good! And gang, weapons up! We got a horde of greasy bastards approaching us head first!"
Goblins appeared out of the shadows with clubs, mazes, and swords with ear-bleeding yells.
The battle of the Gorgrond Caves began.
