Chapter 4: Troublesome team up
Sensing the trouble Sam was in Adam rushed towards him as fast as he could.
" Lightning feet." He mumbled and a his feet which were covered with black shoes that were actually his beast equipment were now quickly coated with lightning and he moved faster than ever.
He ran fastly towards Sam who was now facing a giant fiery ball. It's size and the mana he was sensing from it clearly suggested that it was a work of multiple people.
As soon as he got into the range, he quickly casted three barriers but he knew the chances were close to none. He got close to Sam and cast a fire dome around them to delay the fire ball.
" Hey, let's create a lightning bullet o counter it, these barriers won't last long."
" Yeah, good idea"
And they both started to create a lightning bullet, the plan was to infuse a large amount mana into it and make it as strong and fast as possible. Then, it would take out the fire ball and if they were lucky enough maybe it would also take a couple of the opponents with it. So, now the duo had only a little mana left for fleeing the scene of something unexpected happen.
" Lightning bullet." Both of them mumbled at the same time.
It instantly passed through the fire dome and obliterated the gigantic fireball which was only a few inches away from it. It then, flew towards their opponents and took out a total of three of them. Upon seeing the scene some of their first thoughts were to flee but after seeing the current appearence and situation of the duo, they realised attacking right now was the best choice.
Both Adam and Sam were heavily panting, they used up a large amount of mana and we're incredibly tired but the only choice they had was to fight.
Adam summoned his scythe once again and Sam drew out the sword that was on his back.
They both ran forward with a battle cry, Sam swiftly injured one of them. Then, he immediately threw out his dagger, which the opponent blocked with a barrier but dagger was only a bait, Sam quickly moved forward with his sword and slashed his opponent on the stomach causing an instructor to disqualify his opponent. He gave a quick glance to both of them but didn't say anything.
On the other hand, Adam was busy fighting against two people. Seeing, Adam having a hard time against them, Sam quickly threw a dagger with all his strength aiming towards one of the opponents eyes. His opponent seeing the attack quick managed to save his eyes but it scratched his cheek and causing him to bleed. The attack districted both, which Adam swiftly to his advantage of, he instantly swung his sythe aiming toward his opponents elbow while keeping a watch on the other. His opponent didn't who was distracted couldn't see his attack and was heavily injured and lost a lot blood. Although he could fight a bit longer, it would be dangerous. But surprisingly, he threw out multiple weapons at him and instantly forfeited after that.
This distracted Adam, seeing this as a threat Sam instantly picked up some rocks in the arena and threw them at the weapons that headed straight towards Adam. This changed may of the weapons direction, but it still didn't stop the other one to take this as n opportunity and attack the distracted Adam.
He drew his katana out and imbued it with lightning, he rushed towards Adam with a liund battle cry but unexpectedly his katana was stopped by a scythe. He looked at Adam who at the moment seemed just like a grim reaper. He instinctively backed off but it was too late, Adam swung his scythe at his stomach, which broke his armour and directly stabbing his stomach causing a huge loss of blood. Seeing his condition the examiner was Swift to react and took him off the arena.
Both of them were still out of breadth but another team which consisted two males and female ran towards them and another team in the distance was preparing to fire fire ball at them.
Seeing this Adam quickly thought of a plan threw his mighty scythe at the trio using all his strength, they barely managed avoid but they did. Adam used his lightning feet and instantly appeared beside them.He picked up the scythe and stabbed a male in the stomach. Without wasting a second using using a single hand he drew out his scythe from his opponents stomach and attacked the other one which was right beside him and he threw out a dagger with his other hand on the female. His attacks both worked but the latter one didn't injure them that much and was still standing but she had completely lost the will to fight and seeing Adam running towards her, she knew she would most likely suffer the same fate and quickly forfeited the round. The examiner quickly escorted her and her comrades out of the arena.
Although this incident eliminated some of them and crushed some of them mentally, it used all his remaining mana but he could still summon and dismiss weapons a couple of times.
The fireball which was finally prepared although this one couldn't be compared to the previous ones, it was still a lot stronger than a regular one. It headed straight towards Adam and seeing this Sam instantly ran towards to him for help. If he instead used lightning feet although he would reach their he couldn't wouldn't be able to save Adam. But what he didn't know was that his friend already had a plan prepared. Adam summoned his gauntlets and helmet but while summoning his helmet some black lines appeared and disappeared quickly, yes they were indeed seals although they were quite simple ones. Seeing, this a smile appeared in Sam's face.
The fireball hit Adam but it didn't leave a scratch on him. Although his clothes were burned revealing the armour he was wearing underneath.
" I thought you were goner there." Sam said jokingly when he finally reached Adam.
Both laughed it off but their laugh ended quite soon as they saw a large arrow made of fire headed towards them. It was heading towards them with a great speed and was already quite near them. Even if Sam used lightning feet with the little mana which was left, they still wouldn't be able to avoid it as it couldn't be used at a full speed.
