Chapter 1: Chapter #1: Thunder

"Ah, what do you want?" I groaned, shuffling my hand through my hair. What a mess.

"Well, first you need to get out of bed," Hyerin suggested.

"Why?" I groaned.

"Because we have a report to give in today and a flight to catch at 4:50 P.M. Have you

forgotten?" She scolded me, pulling my covers away from my body and threw them on the floor so I couldn't get them back without getting up.

"Aah! Ran Hyerin, if you don't want your ass beat, then give me back my blanket!" I yelled, moving my arms and legs on the soft mattress.

"Haa! You look like a dying fish!" She laughed at my stupid act.

"No duh I'm dying because you exposed my once warm body inside the covers to the cold air!" I complained. I got me, one eye closed and the other squinted, picked up my blanket and went back to bed.

"Yah, Park Y/N! That's not fair! It's already 2:52 P.M. Get up you sleepy pig!" Hyerin whined.

"Yah! It's 2:51 already? I slept so much! Aah, I seriously need to get out of bed!" I ran out of bed, opened the closet, took out my favorite oversized sweater and black jeans and ran to the bathroom. After slamming the bathroom door, I yelled back at Hyerin, who was inside the room,

"I'm not a sleeping pig! I also sleep with a Pikachu plushie." I screamed from the top of my lungs so she can hear me clearly.

"Fine, sleepy cat!" She yelled.

"That's better!"

"Also, it's 10:30 A.M. You're up on time!" She said I was listening and removing my pajamas.

"YOU LYING PIG!" I screamed as the cold water hit my skin.

....*....

"Oh, I'm not giving it in, you are," Hyerin said.

"Why?" I looked up from my toast with grape jam and at her. I know it's way past 11 o'clock, but do I

care? No.

"Because I have a thing with Young-sik today."

"Ooh, a date, have fun. Of course, you will because you gave your job to me."

"Yah, Park Y/N! Why do you always act like that whenever I have a date with Young-sik?" She whined.

"Because I don't feel loved. I mean, come on! I don't have a boyfriend, but you do. I have less love than what you have because your boyfriend loves you. Who's supposed to give me love now? You, because you're my best friend and when you're here to do it, why would I need a boyfriend. Guys could go to hell as if I care, as long as I have you. Now, is that a valid answer to your question?" I said, breathing heavily to catch my breath after that short speech.

"Ok, now, I get it, no need to feel bad. Now, look at the time, there are only 3 minutes before we have to leave. We'll leave together." She pointed toward the clock, which was positioned on the opposite side of the hotel room's door.

"Fine, let's leave now. It's time anyway." I said, reaching for my bag and searching for the report on the table and inside the drawers of the nightstand. "Hey, where's the report?" I looked up from my search to look at her. The report was the final copy of the investigation we did on the Malaysian plane that crashed into the Pacific Ocean near South Korea several months ago. It showed the cause of the crash, internal structure, deaths, survivors and all that stuff.

"It's in the wardrobe, under your luggage." She said, looking at the bowl of fruit on the coffee table while using her left hand to point at the wardrobe while she picked up a grape with her right hand.

"Oh, found it!" I said, as my hand struggled to pull the folder out. "Let's go." I pulled the folder out and turned around to look at her. She quickly grabbed her handbag and rushed towards me.

"Let's go." She said, walking both of us out the door and turned around to lock the door. We both walked down the stairs quietly and before we went our different path, she said, "Bye, see you at the airport." I waved at her and went to the right side while she turned about her left.

I walked by a bubble tea shop while going to the office. I made a side note to go visit that shop on the way back. I continued walking until I reached the double door of the building.

Finally, I'm here. That was a long walk but worth it! At least I saw a bubble tea shop. Can't wait to get out of here and run to the shop.

Once I left the office, I ran straight towards the bubble tea shop and came out with a honeydew bubble tea. I took my phone from my back pocket and when I turned the screen on, it read 12:29 P.M.

Ah, now I could walk as slow as I want. The flight is at 4:50 P.M. And we have to leave by 1:30 P.M. I got an hour left to chill on my own.

....*....

I finally reached the hotel room, sat on the bed and turned to the KNN news. It was showing the record-breaking new song released by BTS earlier this year in their new comeback album, Map of the Soul: Persona.

"The album has smashed records and we are now preparing to welcome the boys who will be arriving today at 430 P.M. Outside the airport, ARMYs are waiting for their idols to land and greet them as they come." The news reporter spoke. The camera focused on the large crowd of ARMYs with purple banners to welcome the idols in the airport and a wide lane was formed in between them and held with purple borders to mark the pathway of the idols.

Wow, they're coming back on the day I have to leave. Such luck.

But out of nowhere, the screen of the TV went red with the words ALERT! BIG NEWS! Flashing big and bold on the screen.

"We have received info that an Asiana Airlines Airbus A380-800 has been hijacked. I repeat HIJACKED. We don't have any intel on this matter, but stay tuned with KNN to find out the latest updates on this story." The news reporter said.

I quickly got up from my seat and looked at the screen wide-eyed. Then, the news broadcast was interrupted for a commercial break. This went on for the next thirty minutes when the camera of the news broadcast changed from ARMYs with purple banners to welcome the idols return to showing a plane whose altitude was decreasing at an abnormal rate, its tail burning.

But out of nowhere, the screen of the TV went red again, but with the words ALERT! BIG UPDATE! Flashing big and bold on the screen this time.

'We have received urgent news! It appears that the hijacked Asiana Airlines A380-800 airbus is abnormally decreasing its altitude at a high rate. Just now, a citizen has noticed a wave of smoke up in the air and noticed that a plane was leaving a cloud of smoke. We now will connect with news reporter there to tell us more on this story." The news reporter spoke. The screen changed to show another reporter and behind them is green land.

"Analysts predict that the plane is going to crash into a field a few thousand yards south of the Incheon International Airport. We have predicted the plane will fall into that pit of land within the next thirty minutes to thirty-five minutes. The plane's tail and three engines, one on the left side and two on the right are burning up. Slowly, police officers, ambulances, and firefighters are all slowly starting to gather around the predicted crash site." The second news reporter said.

Oh shit. I won't be leaving the country today.
