Chapter 16: Problem?
"It's precisely 3 mist flowers, 5 purple nuts, and 4 lizard fruits. Here you go 160 quartz."
"Thanks."
Haruto was inside the guild, handing over the items for quest. The ossan receptionist was once again the one Haruto went to since the others were busy with pitiful single adventurers trying their luck for the beauties here.
A lot of them were wasting time with flirting and talking about unrelated things for adventurers. It's fine if you're alone but why don't you think more of the people lining up behind you? Seriously.
Some random dudes even went out of their way to approach Elsie or Fia resulting in who knows how many times Haruto nearly ended up in conflict if not for the guild interference.
He's confident that he could beat all of the guys black and blue so there's no problem at all. The higher rank adventurers were more prudent since they were considered big shots, they're more interested for high class ladies or raising their achievements. But that didn't mean there weren't any acting arrogant and forcing commoners or people below them to submit.
That's not really hard to deal with since Haruto also kept a lot of hidden cards in case such things happened, but fortunately they hadn't met that kind of situations yet.
By now it's already the second day of their visit in Latia. It was now a little past noon after Haruto finished his second quest for the day. He thought of having lunch and relax a little before continuing.
Since Elsie and Fia was still in the middle of the quest he's currently alone. He made his way to a restaurant that served foods similar to chinese cuisine.
The restaurant was quite full but since he's alone he managed to get himself a small table. Thinking that he's quite lucky he walked towards his table while humming.
"Huh? That's..."
He noticed a familiar figure eating by themselves too near his table. Different than his companions, this person ate little by ordering only fried asparagus and poached chicken one portion each with a bowl of rice.
The figure noticed him to and stopped their eating. Haruto smiled friendly and approach them.
"Hello, it's nice to see you again Selianna-san."
Yes, the High Knight woman Haruto met yesterday, Selianna von Grehilde.
She had the same long blonde and wavy hair with purple eyes, a very elegant-like young lady in her early twenties.
The difference from yesterday was that she did not wear her knight armor today, instead she wore a blue long sleeved shirt and a black medium length skirt.
Because she no longer had her plate armor, her voluptuous figure were a lot more emphasized and Haruto could clearly recognize her slender and charming waist. Truly a very high level beauty woman with body that capable of making the idols in his previous world ran away with tears in their eyez.
"..Excuse me, have we met before?"
"What?"
What's this woman saying? She doesn't remember him? Well, they just interacted a little so perhaps it slipped her mind? But it'll be embarassing if he just take a step back right now, at least he should try to rouse her memories.
"Umm, I'm the one that you asked yesterday about the forest to the south..."
"Sorry I don't remember you, perhaps you got the wrong person?" She said indifferently.
Hmm.. he didn't think he was mistaken unless that knight woman had a twin identical sister. Maybe he's wrong after all?
"I'm definitely haven't met you or asked something to you, especially hugging an adorable little fox girl in front of a stranger while drooling and laughing shamelessly, it's absolutely, definitely not me." She said with a sharp stern eyes.
....He took back what he said, this person's definitely the one he met before.
"No, I didn't say that much and I don't really think what you did was that terrible..."
"What are you talking about? I told you I don't know you and it's definitely not me."
"Yes yes, so what are you doing here Selianna-san?"
"It's not me I said and I'm here to have my afternoon meals, can you not see? Or are you actually blind?"
'...This woman, did she hate me that much? Did being seem by me and her subordinates of her ethics embarassed her that much?' Haruto's eyes twitched while desperately keeping his smile.
"That's not what I meant, I thought you should be investigating the dungeon inside the forest? What ever happens to that?"
"Hoo, you know about that? You must be asking the guild yesterday is it?" Selianna raised her eyebrow.
Haruto nodded and explained what he heard from the ossan yesterday to her.
"...So I thought that you're currently went inside the dungeon with your subordinate s."
"Of course we planned to but we need some preparation too you know? Or are you telling me to dive inside blindly? You're far more stupid than I thought." She said coldly.
"...Did you hate me that much?"
"I told you I don't know what are you talking about."
"Personally I didn't think it was that big of a deal though, everybody have their own...preferences."
"I-I think I'm normal though? What preference are you talking about?" She flinched.
"Oh it's Fia."
"-!?"
Haruto turned his head to the side and Selianna immediately gasped and turned her eyes to the same direction with incredible speed.
"Where? Where's Fia-tan!? I don't see her?!"
"...Heh."
It was at this time that Selianna realize she'd been had. She turned her head back towards Haruto while stuttering like a rusty mechanical doll.
She saw him, having a very malicious grin and victorious expression on his face. Selianna's face turned pale instantly.
"I see... Fia-tan is it? Very interesting..."
"Y-Y-You...."
"I wonder how will Fia react if told her about this? Kukuku~" Haruto viciously cackled.
Selianna's face turned even more pale and she's dropping cold sweats.
"P-Please don't tell her, I'm begging you....."
"Hee~ I wonder..."
"Uuu~"
*Hics~ sob~*
'What... the...?' Haruto was very shocked. The knight in front of him was weeping and sobbing like a child!
The other guests were looking at them and they started to whisper around, making noises.
Even the waiters were looking at him like a piece of trash and Haruto was sweating very hard right now.
"Hey..why are you crying? Hey come on stop..."
"Uuuu...sob~ sob~"
"Alright! Alright! I'm sorry!! I won't tell Fia okay!? So please stop crying!!" He said desperately.
He spent a few minutes to calm her down, utilizing all his effort to cheer her up.
This knight, she likes Fia that much....
After that he's finally succeed and Selianna calmed down. He finally able to order his food and had his postponed lunch. During this time Selianna was eeriely silent, he couldn't see her expression because her bangs covered her face.
When Haruto finished his meals and about to leave after he paid the foods, Selianna suddenly stood up and and walked away but not before she said something while keeping her back on him.
"..I'll definifely kill you..."
....
Haruto pretended not to hear anything and went back to the city gate for more quests.
'Looks like I went overboard... But she's at fault too so why am I being the villain here?'
He sighed and once again departed to subjugate some lizardmen. By this time Fia and Elsie should already on their way back to the city.
