Lord Vernon & Keys

Year of 2155, Russia.

In a secluded valley, the wind blew, swirling the snow, covering the footprints. 'Bang' a sound of crashing, came for 100 miles away.

In the middle of the valley, a man in dark, brown overcoat spoke in Russian, "Do you really think you can kill me? Your force isn't enough."

A squad of soldiers in camouflaged uniforms came from all sides. Surrounding the man in the middle. They hid, blending with the environment, they mounted their weapons on the snow.

And the Captain of the squad said "Who knows?" he gave a mysterious smile. He shouted "Men fire!"

The soldiers aimed their rifles, fired plasma bullets. Many would have cowered under their barrage. He stayed still. When the bullets reached him. Disinterested, he waved his hand, an invisible force cut through the bullets, exploding them mid-air.

The Captain was tense. As a foreboding feeling came from the man, sweat trickled down his head. The Captain gritted his teeth. Trying to put on a brave façade for his men. With an unwavering will he stared into the man's eyes. Humoured, the man snickered. He stepped forward slowly. The Captain put on his armoury and said "Reed take over!" The Captain mouthed to his trusted aide 'Get backup fast'

Reed nodded grimly. The rest of his men cheered internally, watching their Captain suit up. Like robots, the soldiers continued firing at the enemy. The man shook his hands, creating a screen of protection, blocked them. The soldiers switched their gears and weapons. under the cover of the rising smoke and snow. They fired. while others threw hand grenades, planning to exhaust the enemy.

He then paused as their firing grew intense. He tried to avoid the incoming grenade. The grenades blew throwing splinters along with the snow. The man activated his power and a splinter grazed his left cheek. Even with the cloudy vision they continued shooting. Thanks to the latest military goggles, allowing the user to see through the snow.

The captain raised his arms, they ceased their fire. While the snow was still unsettled, he ordered them to activate their abilities. The soldiers prepared their elemental attacks, while some rushed, with weapons enchaned by their powers.

A solider with an ice ability threw rods of ice from his arms. The man he caught the ice rods and wacked the rest. Due to the density of the ice, it didn't break even after he struck several of them.

A small infantry of water users summoned a huge tidal wave from the ground. It grew to a staggering size and controlled it. He panicked for a moment. He jumped, launching himself like a rocket. In the air, a few lighting balls and bolts were thrown in his direction. He acrobatically dodged them in the air. Before he could safely jump over, a solider launched sword and came at great speed. He unsheated his blade and flicked it away. Distracted, the wave accidently hit his leg.

At that moment an ice user froze the water. Before it could freeze him completely. He tried vibrating his crystalised leg. While he was distracted. The Captain turned invisible and rushed with his rapier. The man expression turned grim and pulled out a matching short sword from his vest. They traded blows and their weapons clashed and clang. The Captain said "Secure the perimeter."

"You Rebels never change! Did you really expect my men to be powerless like your victims?" The Captain scowled. He did a high kick. The man saw it coming, unable to move he stumbled. He fell, face first on soft ground. The Captain spat "Filthy criminals!"

At the same time, the mountain base blasted, lighting the dark valley. The snow sparkled as a ray of light went up the sky. It was headed to them. The man on the ground laughed and said "Haha too late, My Lord is here!" The Captain silenced him with a kick. The ray fell in between them. Blowing the captain away. The snow parted, settling slowly.

They saw a masked man clothed in black armour with red highlights at the chest and thick gold linings on his gauntlets. His crimson cape flapped with the cool breeze. The Lord waved his hand.

The rapier in the captain's hands shook. The Captain gripped it tight but all was futile. The rapier turned against its owner, plunged itself onto the Captain, striking his heart. He died. Seeking vengence, the soldiers attacked the new enemy. The masked man said "Dumb ants" With a flick of his wrists the grenades and the bombs on the soldiers vibrated and exploded. Like fireworks one by one, they bloomed. Lighting up the dark valley.

The masked man said" Hugo, you have failed me. You couldn't even handle a bunch of weaklings! Is this how you are going to lead? Never mind let's leave!"

Hugo nodded with his head down, he said "Yes, Lord"

Before the masked man left from the scene with his disciple.

A man from the sky, landed on his feet, raising the snow on the ground. In the veil of the snow a deep voice said "Vernon, Where do you think you are going?"

Lord Vernon said "Well I'm going home!"

Charles said "Sorry, but as long you have the Key. I can't allow you"

Lord Vernon said "There is no way I'm going to hand it back to a bunch of hypocrites... Besides what makes you think you can?"

Charles said "You are right, I can't but Supernova can. I will certainly restrain you for him."

Charles slit his own arm. Fiery blood gushed from his hand. Charles chanted a few words, manipulating it, he creating a huge dome around them.

Lord Vernon'eyes narrowed, said "Haha. How dare you try to hold me back? I'm going to miss my show. You bastard! I will f** you up and send you all to hell."

He opened his cloak and a dozen of plasma guns and swords came out, floating mid-air.

Charles blended in with his dome. Unable to find Charles, Lord Vernon randomly fired and shot blades around the dome. The snow on the ground, slowly turned crimson. The dome shook, from the celling, giant blades formed and dropped on them.

Vernon materialised a electromagnetic shield around him and Hugo. The blades halted. His shield cracking under the weight of Charles's attack. He countered him with few bolts of infrared rays.

The blood started creeping toward them. Frustrated. Vernon activated his second power, poison mist and released a deadly gas. Vernon made a pocket of air for Hugo and asked him to create an exit.

Hugo vibrated his hands. He tried to create a hole on the dome's walls.

Suddently, Charles came out of the sea of blood, he struck Hugo's chest. Hugo died.

Vernon was enraged. His eyes cracked a huge blast of electromagnetic wave came from Vernon dissipating the dome. Charles spitted blood and fell, feeling the backlash of his ability.

Charles was shocked. But calmed, when saw the reinforcements behind him.

This time, they were prepared. After a few clashes with Lord Vernon, they were able to make a few modifications and developed a countermesure for him and the rest of the rebels.

They were armed with elemental missiles, heat rays, ultrasonic cannons and other kinds of high-tech military artillary.

A General stood in front of the army, dressed in a prestine, green uniform decorated with stars and medals.

Still in a crazed state. Vernon held his head, green vines crawled from his pocket. They binded, incasing him into a cacoon. A light shinned from the cacoon, blinding the troops. Their weapons and goggles couldn't get a lock on the target. They paused and waited for the light to dim.

A moment later the cacoon cracked. The key in his pocket glowed; binding Vernon's soul. The cacoon became ash, the light dimmed. Like silence before the storm.

A huge cycalone came from Vernon's body blowing the men away, except the wind users.

From the blizzard a pair of green eyes shinned through.

With a wave of his right hand, he commanded the wind. Thousands of blades were formed, killing thousands in the chaos. They soldiers dropped, falling down like the rain. He raised his left hand. The snow on the mountain shook. The snow started rolling, turned into an incoming avalanche.

Vernon gained conciousness, he saw the destruction. In a state of confusion, he panicked.

At the same time, an A.I popped in his head, said "Hello I am Keith aka The Keys."

"How do you like my entrance?"

Vernon panicked internally but acted calm. Vernon said "So it was you who did that?"

Keith joyfully replied "Yup".

Vernon muttered under his breath "So, this was their Trump card?"

Keith's eyes blinked, he said "What did you say?"

Vernon shrugged, he said "Never mind. let's go home"

He activated his flying shoes, he flew, carrying his disciple's body in tow. They left, before the avalanche came tumbling down.

In the corners of the Justice Alliance base, hundereds of time bombs flicked and flashed red. 'Boom' destroying every trace of the base.
