Chapter 1: How It All Began
Prologue
About five centuries ago...
Rain ran into the woods, trying to escape the hunters who were hunting for her blood.
It wasn't her fault that she was in this position. If only her mother had loved her, she wouldn't have told the guards that her daughter had special powers. And they wouldn't have assumed she was a freaking witch.
Truth be told, even Rain didn't know what she was. But, she wasn't going to go with the flow and let the hunters burn her alive. She simply didn't deserve that.
Once inside the woods Rain tried to run faster, but failed after she tripped. When she looked back what she saw almost made her curse.
A rock, she tripped over a rock. But that stupidity only happened in scary stories that mothers said to their little kids.
The horses were getting closer and she was running out of time. What to do? What to do?
Then she thought of the only thing that could save her. The only reason why all this was happening.
She stood up and took a deep breath, then gently lifted her hands before her face like she was praying.
And in a matter of seconds her prayers were heard, a blue fire started from nowhere circling her and also protecting her.
When she opened her eyes she saw that the horses had stopped.
But the hunters looked relaxed .Way too relaxed for her liking.
And she understood why, when an arrow pierced through her body.
"Did you really think you could escape us witch?" one of the hunters asked.
Rain fell on the forest ground. Cursing everyone she could. Promising that she would find a way ,even after life to kill them and hunt their families as they had once hunted her.
The hunters laughed and laughed until darkness consumed Rain.
After what felt like an eternity a soft voice whispered to her.
"Would you like to keep your promise to them? To do to them what they did to you."
With all the force Rain could muster she whispered back: " Yes"
