Chapter 3: Recalling the memories
Coming back to the present ---
After work, Owen asked Mia if he could drive her home. Mia was confused once again, at one point of time, he was cold and rude towards her while on the other, he was soft and kind towards her. Mia, however accepted the lift from her boss and told him her address. Owen opened the car door, and politely gestured her to be seated. The real purpose of giving a lift to Mia was so that he could get closer to her and also ask her why she doesn't remember him anymore. Deep in thoughts, Owen forgot to look the road and suddenly bumped upon a car in front of them. Owen started to panic but however maintained his composure and checked whether Mia was injured or not. "Are you alright, Mia" asked Owen. She did not utter a word. Owen then saw tiny drops of blood falling down from her head. He was heart broken and hurriedly took her to the best hospital.
There she underwent rigorous treatment. Owen was still in a shock , then the doctor came out and gave him the report. On seeing the report, Owen was flabbergasted. "For the past 7 years the reason why she could not remember me was because she suffered from amnesia", cried Owen. " "How I wished I could be there for her during her hardest times", mumbled Owen. Owen held Mia's hand and in his mind were the beautiful memories that they had spent together. Mia was deep in sleep and also dreamt about Owen and how Owen for the first time proposed to her.
In Mia's dream -
Owen back then was the most popular boy in school. He was known for both his wealth and his good looks. He was indeed a proud boy being from a prosperous family and sought after by many girls. However, the first time that Owen met Mia, he was awestruck by her beauty. Not only him but almost every boy in the school were blinded by her beauty and intelligence. This was the first time that Owen felt nervous towards a girl... He would rarely pay any attention to the love messages that he would get from numerous girls previously annd was rude and mean towards them. But Mia was an exception.
He tried every possible way to talk to her but she was a conservative girl who rarely showed any interest in any boy as she was fixated on building a stable and reputed career. Finally Owen decided to send her a letter, the old school way rather than texting her and saying " I like you".The letter that he sent to Mia was a touching one... He wrote:
"Dear Mia,
Not sure if you know this but when I first saw you
I got so nervous I couldn't speak. Your magnificient large amber eyes, long black lashes and your soft silky platinum hair flowing down your shoulders, everything about you has encapsulated me in the best possible way.In that very moment I found the one and My life had found its missing piece.
So as long as I live I will love you, will have and hold you, you are the missing piece in my heart. And from now till my very last breath I'll cherish you forever...

Along with the letter was a bunch of red roses near her doorsteps.
Back to the hospital ( the present) -
Suddenly, Mia started to gain consciousness and cried aloud, "Owen, don't leave me". On hearing Mia's words, Owen's face gleamed with joy and happiness. But little did he know that this was the breeze before the storm.
