Chapter 2: The Escape
Flavio succeeded in escaping the the Spanish soldiers.With the big ship they had stolen, they said goodbye to the nightmare of their past. But it's not all over yet.
With a large ship, soldiers are still in search of escapees. A high-armed officer wearing a uniform interrupted the soldiers and spoke.
"Our mission is to locate the ships of the Indies who have escaped. When we see them, blow them up immediately. All we need is to get the mysterious weapon, kill them if they'll fight."
Not far, the Flavio's ship can be seen.
"Flavio, the Spanish ship is coming, what will we do?"
"Their ship is running fast. We're done ..."
Everyone is worried because they are coming close to the opponent. But, an old man approached Flavio and said:
"Do not worry, Bathala will not let us go"
Flavio turned to his companions and encouraged them.
"Do not be afraid, Brothers!
Be strong! There is no one who can stop our freedom."
Flavio once pulled the dagger upside down.The wind blows sharply.
The sky was darkened by the thick clouds covering the sun. Flavio thought that it will rain strong however, the cloud slipped slightly to the ship of the Spanish.
"Hang the sails! The storm is coming!"
"Lower the sails!"
Ship soldiers quickly lowered the sail. So that they did not get carried away by strong winds.
"Captain, the ships of the Indies are gone."
Due to the force of the wave, the ship is racing."Aaaahh" Soldiers shout while they are running strong waves.
"Sir, we have to go back. The storm is getting stronger.", A soldier said.But the stubborn captain didn't listen.
"We'll follow them!"
No matter how his crew had tried to convince him, he still doesn't listen instead, he pushed the soldier out of the ship by taking out his gun, aiming at Flavio's.
"There's no ship for Cowards."
He fired the gun but it didn't hit Indies Ship.
Suddenly, lightning strikes where the captain stands and the ship and all soldiers in it burned to ashes.
After some time, the storm is over. And there's no enemy ships that tailed them.
Meanwhile ...
"Yeahoo! The Spaniards are dead! We are free."
Flavio's companions sounded.
"Aniton Tabu, you saved us from the oppression."
An old lady thanked a god Anitun Tabu.
"Anitun Tabu? Who's Anitun Tabu?" Flavio suddenly asked the old man about this.
"Anitun Tabu is the God of the seasons, he created a storm to drive away Evil.", Old woman said.
"In the beginning, I did not believe in Deity and Gods, because they did not help us by the Spanish."
Flavio reiterated that Deities did not help them when they were enslaved by Colonists. Another man came to Flavio and told a story behind their survival in the woods.
"Anitun Tabu has a brother named Dumakulem, Deity of the forest. According to the elders, he is angry with those who spoil it ... Moments--(All of a sudden, he recall about the Hermit they met in the forest.) Flavio. The Ermitanyo we meet in the forest. "
Suddenly, everybody remembered that there has no forest in the mountains because of mining.
"Why did they suddenly show up? Where were they when Spaniards slaughtered us? Run the forests, and take our lands? Is it because of the dagger, they show up?"
Flavio said he was also thinking about the incident.
