Chapter 14: At The Edge of My Sanity
Under the heat of the sun, Alliyah is looking around the shore for any signs of Areej.
'This can't be happening to me right now! Please, not to me!'
Alliyah looking around desperately by the shore in search for Areej or at least a sign of her.
Only the sound of the waves from the sea and mewing of sea gulls could be heard.
Despite all the efforts of Alliyah, there is no sign nor hint of where Areej could be.
"AREEEEEJ !!! AREEEEEEJ!!"
[***Urgent! Energy is low. –Life Force– is at risk!***]
The voice within Alliyah's mind has finally appeared to remind her.
'I don't care even my life force at risk! I have to find Areej!'
All that matters to Alliyah is Areej and nothing else.
Panic ensued and Alliyah became more desperate in calling out for the name of Areej.
"AREEEEJ !!! AREEEJ!!!"
A loud desperate calling out for someone she could not bear to lose.
'I just promised not to be separated from her and keeping her safe but here I am, a total failure!'
*** Flashback ***
At the middle of the sea with such strong storm, Alliyah is barely hanging on to the navigation of the boat.
Alliyah's red hair is flying here and there from the violent breeze of the wind due to the storm that they just came across with.
"Damn it! Talk about luck!" Alliyah said to herself while Areej is cooped down beside Alliyah.
Areej is covering herself with the shoal that Alliyah provided her with.
"Aaalliieee, I am scared !!" cried out by Areej towards Alliyah.
Loud thunderous thunderclaps reverberates all over the sea.
Large waves and violent wind which Alliyah is trying to survive from.
Deep inside Alliyah prays for miracle and protection from the perilous situation that they are in.
Even though Alliyah and Areej is sheltered by this small cabin and roof over them, water from the sea and the storm could not be prevented from coming in and getting the two pitiful souls to get wet.
Then the view of a large monstrous wave is about hit the small boat which Alliyah is trying to navigate.
In Alliyah's fear, she immediately held and embraced Areej who is cooped down scared.
"Aaaaallieee !!!" expressed by Areej with tears while embracing Alliyah tightly.
"Just hold on to me, whatever happens we will be together! We will never be separated!!!" whispered by Alliyah attempting to comfort and reassure her.
"Promise?" cried by Areej while embracing Alliyah tightly.
"Yes, I promise!" Alliyah declared as she promises to the young sweet Areej.
The monstrous wave finally hits the small boat which causes for both pitiful souls to scream for their life while holding on to each other tightly.
Alliyah thought that even if they die at that moment and get drowned, at least they are together and will not be separated.
Unfortunately, fate has other plans for the two pitiful souls.
*** End of Flashback ***
"AREEEJ !!" Alliyah yelling as loud as she can, she is hoping that maybe by her voice, Areej will hear her and will be able to notice that her presence is near.
Desperation…
Panic …
Lost …
These things are already pushing Alliyah at her limits.
'I do not care if I am at the edge of my sanity now! All I need is to find her. She is all I have got now. There is nothing left for me but only her. PLEASE! Where are you? Oh, Areej!' a desperate cry within.
[***Urgent! Energy is low. –Life Force– is at risk!***]
Reminded by the voice within Alliyah's mind.
"I DO NOT FUCKING CARE !!! I ONLY NEED AREEEEJ !!!" a clear tone of frustration vented out by Alliyah.
In the middle of Alliyah's frustration, a sound of donkey and wheels from a cart suddenly invaded Alliyah's attention.
Then Alliyah realized that if there is no sign of Areej around the area of the shore that she is in right now. Maybe Areej could be on the other shore or maybe by now someone could have found her.
The most rational thing that Alliyah concluded is that the nearest hospital or clinics will be the best place for her to find Areej.
Alliyah used her super speed and went to the source of the sound of donkey and wheels from a cart. Then she appeared right in front of the donkey where an old man sitting on a driver's seat while holding a harness.
"Woah, boy!" command by the old man but the presence of Alliyah got the donkey spooked.
"I need your help sir!" desperately expressed by Alliyah towards the old man.
"Well, how may I help you miss? You look miserable and exhausted!" said by the old man based on his observation towards Alliyah.
"Where is the nearest hospital or clinic from here? I just need to find my little sister." Asked by Alliyah.
"There is a hospital in the nearest town that I am planning to go to right now. You can tag along if you want." Replied nicely by the old man.
A sudden ray of hope appeared on Alliyah's mind.
This was the only thing that Alliyah could hold on to…
Hope…
Immediately, Alliyah hopped on the back of the cart with full of hay.
[***Blood Source Available!***]
'Shut up! I do not need your freaking reminders' said by Alliyah to the voice within her.
[***Urgent! Energy is low. –Life Force– is at risk!***]
Alliyah just decided to ignore the warning of the voice she kept hearing in her mind that only she could hear.
As they start moving, the old man asked Alliyah "What happened to you, miss?"
"The boat that I was in got wrecked due to the storm. Then, I got separated from my younger sister due to the storm. It is a miracle that I am even alive today. So, I really have to find my younger sister. I need to know if she even survived it miraculously just like me." Explained by Alliyah.
"That is indeed sad to hear, I am sorry if you went through such horrifying experience. At least you survived and God gave you another chance to live. Based on your explanation, if your younger sister got separated from you, there are two possible hospitals that she could be admitted." Response of the old man from what Alliyah said.
"Really, sir? Wwwhheerreee could I find her?" a hint of positivity and hope could be heard from Alliyah's voice while stuttering in her hope.
"If someone finds her then they may bring her to the hospital in the town that we are heading to right now. Then the other one is on the …" before the old man could finish his sentence, an arrow shot right through the chest of the old man.
Alliyah immediately went towards the old man. She tried her best to aid the old man but the only thing that the old man said was …
"Bandits…" last words of the old man.
The old man spat blood and passed away while Alliyah held him tightly.
