Chapter 3: The Classics of Olden Times
Over three days have passed since the spirit awakening ceremony. In a classroom, 79 students are keenly listening to an old man discussing a story with only one student not paying attention.
That student is Feng Xin as he is dozing off and tiredness can be seen all over his face.
All of these students are children from the Raven Clan who awakened at least two-star spirits as their talent. They are all required to go to the academy to start their journey of spirit cultivation.
"Who do you think is the first spirit awakener? Feng Xin wake up and answer my question!"
The old man shouted three times waking up Feng Xin from his sleep.
"The First Spirit Awakener? I do not know the exact answer to it but records are saying that it is Zhang Zhaohui."
Feng Xin answered as he looked up at the blackened face of the old man and he returned back to his sleep.
"This Feng Xin, ever since the spirit awakening ceremony he have always been like this. Not paying any attention at all."
"What a waste, this is the most talented person in the clan? What a joke!"
"Him staying here is just going to waste the clan's resources!"
Hearing his answer, the students discussed him fervently.
'The higher you are the harder you fall. Supreme Elder, it is your mistake to give him the status he enjoys, and now that you just leave him like this because of the spirit awakening ceremony… What a problematic matter!'
The old man can only sigh as he saw the actions of Feng Xin and the discussion of the other students.
'You are still the son of the clan's hero, I believe that you can still be part of the clan's elites in the future. You may not be an elder of the clan but you can still be of contribution to the clan so I will do my best to bring you to the right path.'
The old man's gaze sharpened as he determined his goal.
Feng Xin heard the discussions of his classmates and he just threw those things at the back of his head. Naturally, he knew the reason for them suddenly turning their attitude on him.
On the day of the spirit awakening ceremony, when it is his turn to be tested, the spirit that he awakened matches the ominous feeling that he had.
'Two-star Raven Feather Wings Spirit'
The two-star spirit that Feng Xin awakened is quite good for a two-star spirit, able to make its host fly at a low altitude at a fast speed but when taken into consideration the expectation put on him, it did not match any expectations whatsoever making the attitude of his clansmen turn from good to bad.
Even then, it was not enough for Feng Xin to be depressed. There is a reason for him to act like this.
"Alright, be quiet. I will now tell you about the tale of the first spirit awakener."
The old man shouted making everybody quiet as he continued with the discussion.
There isn't any concrete evidence about who is the first person to awaken their spirit but there are some legends about it.
One such legend is discussed in the classics of the First Spirit Awakener, a classic that can be dated back from the first recorded history of spirit cultivators.

On an island with a lush forest.
A wet naked man can be seen standing up confused. He does not know anything nor does he have any memories.
The only thing he has is the instinct to live.
On his back, one can observe the billowing waves of the sea.
"What am I? Who am I?"
The man ask himself a question and he continuously pondered about those questions that bothered him.
The only thing he can remember is his strong desire to live, nothing else.

The man felt the strong cold wind.
"Cold, I need heat."
And so he took a big leaf and used it to cover his body giving him some heat, protecting him from the cold.
"Hungry and thirsty, I need food and water."
And so he ate the coconut meat and drank its water.
Soon countless days passed as he continue to live on the island.
"Hmm, what is in the deep part of the forest?"
As days passed, the man knew that he can live peacefully as he isn't lacking any food, water, clothing, and shelter.
There is just one thing that makes him unhappy and he can never satiate, it is his curiosity. Ever since he arrived at the island he never goes to the deep area of the forest as he felt that some dangerous thing will happen if he do so but curiosity killed the cat.
One day, he cannot take it anymore as he felt that he will never be at ease not knowing what is beyond what he can see.
With that, he made a rough stone spear as he felt that he needed it to protect himself. He did not know where the knowledge come from but he just trusted his mind and created one.
After making his final preparation, the man set off for an adventure.
He continued with the journey and he met various things that opened his mind. Animals that he has never seen, trees, and plants that he never knew.
The man felt excited to know such things that he have never even seen, his curiosity only intensified and he continued with his journey not having an ounce of feeling to go back to his old life.
That is until one day, when he is on his journey he met a pack of wild wolves.
All the animals that the man saw did not compare to this pack of wild wolves. Their ferociousness, their cooperation, their speed, their strength.
The man can only run in desperation, not able to put up any fight at all.
He runs in fear, and as he looked back he can see that the wolves are just toying with him. They don't have any intention to kill him at all.
With that, he continued running for his life until he met a cliff. A dead end. The man looked at how deep the end of the cliff is and the only thing he can see is the abyss looking back at him.
At this time, the man understood why the wolves are toying with him. It's because they knew that there is no way he can leave alive! Those wolves knew that the direction he is running to is going to be a dead end.
This time, the man understood why he felt fear in the deep forest. It's because in those parts exist beasts that are dangerous. These wolves are the perfect example of that. They are not only ferocious, strong, fast, playful, and great at coordination but they are also extremely intelligent.
The man felt fear as he knew that there is no way for him to survive. At his front is the pack of wild wolves, at his back is an endless abyss.
The man did not know what to choose so he can live.
"Jump and you shall live!"
A sudden voice carrying might wake him up from his fear and so he just went into the deep abyss. He did not know how long he have fallen as the only thing he can see is the darkness when suddenly he stopped falling and he saw a blinding blue light coming from a humongous ore.
That ore made him look like an ant from its size alone.
"I have heard your desire! Touch me and you shall seize everything you desire in the world!"
The man shivered from excitement and he run to the humongous ore. The more he got nearer the more he aged, from a young man to an old man on his deathbed.
Only when he is at the end of his life is he able to touch the ore.
"I have heard of your desire and I acknowledge it! You are the first one to have a conscious desire! You are now my master, I am the Desire Spirit. Everything you desire I will give you!"
The ore spoke again but the man realized that he have been schemed at. He cannot speak for he is already on his deathbed.
The ore never mentioned that he will lose his lifespan if he tried to touch the ore but his desire prevail over everything. The ore knew that the man is going to die and it felt happy but at the next moment its happiness is gone.
"Give me back my youth help me change everything!"
The man said in his hoarse voice carrying deathly energy surprising the Desire Spirit as he did not expect that the man can still speak with his will and desire to live.

"With that, the man changed his fate and the Desire Spirit helped him awaken his spirit so that he can change everything. He will soon later name himself Zhang Zhaohui, the first one to awaken his spirit!"
The old man stopped with his lesson and he looked at a certain girl emitting a pure and innocent aura.
