Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Sad man

Life. Life is the process by which we transmit our actions into something great. Something monumental. Something that will be remembered throughout time. That is life. To others, it is just an object which can be used for their excitement. It is something that they can put the blame on.

Life is a double-edged sword. Only when you use it, can you achieve greatness.

"Hmm. The wind is strong this time around." An old man said whilst steering the wheel on the boat. He then left a wheel and grabbed a rope which he then pulled on it raising the sails. "So. Uhhh...What brings you to this side of the Continent?" The old man turned around to ask the person behind him.

The person behind him was a muscular man with a great physique. He wore grey pants with a belt that holds pouches on his waist. He also wore thin shoes that had black in color. On his hands, he wore black gloves with a spherical shape on the back of his wrist. He wore a blueish piece of armor on his chest with 3 big red lines across his chest piece. Finally, he wore some sort of black cloth that hid his neck and head but allow an opening for his eyes.

The man did not answer only sitting down on the floor in a meditating position. He placed his back on the soft wooden wall and said this. "I am...looking for something" His voice was deep and brooding something which would make any man look terrified. The old man then sat down next to him.

"What is it you looking for? A weapon, something valuable? Or maybe a woman?" The old man said with a smirk. "No" was the only thing the man said. "Hmm... You know not many people travel to this continent. They say it is infested with demons and whatnot." The old man said while holding his chin.

This got the attention of the man who had now turned his head to face the old man. "Demons?" "Ah yes, demons are the sort of beasts you don't want to encounter in your travels. They look very terrifying, with purplish and rocky skin. Also, eyes that could kill you with a stare." The old man said in a deep voice as if trying to scare the man.

"I doubt they exist" The man returned to his original position and closed his eyes. "Oh! But they do exist! As does magic!" This caught the attention of the man again. "Magic?" "Yes! Magic! This place holds a great connection to magic. It is also one of the only places where people who use magic exist." The man looked at the old man with furrowed eyes. He didn't expect that magic is something common among the people of this land.

Suddenly both of them fell to the ground as the boat shook heavily. "Damn this storm! I would appreciate a little help from you. Grab the rope and pull it hard." The man got up from the ground and grabbed the rope and pulled it.

While the man was pulling the rope. The old man grabbed the wheel and tried to stabilize the ship, but the storm didn't have any of that. The storm got stronger and stronger. The old man tried his best to pull together the boat and keep it from steering off course. " Go top side and pull the sails down!" The man nodded to the old man and ran up to the top of the deck. It was a mess, to say the least. The waves were hard and furious that the boat couldn't handle moving like this.

The man then found the rope and pulled on it. He then tied it to a nearby anchor and let the wind do its thing. He then felt thunder from the clouds above, roaring loudly. The man ran down again to the old man only to find him holding on to the steering wheel with all his strength. The man grabbed the wheel with the old man. They both then turned the wheel with their strengths toward the direction out of the storm.

The man let go of the wheel and left the old man to continue steering the ship. "Thank you for the help. I wasn't certain we were going to make it. That storm has taken the lives of countless sailors alike, they say it's impossible to pass through it and that anyone would die from it. But, I guess we proved them wrong." The sailor said with a smiling face while rubbing his hair from all the rain outside on the deck. "Now set back and relax. We're almost there."

"This is it! Welcome, good sir to the other side!" The old man said as he raised his hands while standing on the sands of a beach. "Now then, I suppose you would want to get on with your journey." The old man said as turned around to the man. "That would be for the best," The man said as he was about to walk away. "Wait! before you go, here." The old man said as he handed him a parchment of paper. "What is it?" "It's a map of the whole place. Think of it as repayment for saving me.

The man placed the parchment of paper into his bag and started walking into the land in front of him. "I hope you find luck in your travels." The old man said in low voice before walking towards his ship.
