Chapter 5: iS tHiS a-dætë ?
Third Person's POV
"My queen, he is falling for her easily. May we call the king?" A dark, husky voice said. A cauldron brewing in the middle showed like a cctv to whatever was happening to the Land.
Ripped black dress walked over the ground and looked at the cauldron. "Not just yet my loyal knight. We need more evidence. And I think I just have the right soul for it" a girly yet lost voice said and the dress then again walked. To a shelf that was filled with air filled jars. Empty.
"Were coming for you, Red Queen"

Everyone retreated from the Court of Customs and went back home for the day. But Alucard had other intentions.
He moved a bit nearer to Ruby but she quickly knew his moves. And saved him from denial "We need to keep our distance. Or the Judge will find you guilty instead and get you in Ban" she put up her hand to say 'no' and left without a gaze at Alucard.
Alucard though, didn't continue. It wasn't like him. "How about a celebration?" He had asked and Ruby stopped her tracks.
She turned to him and paused to breathe "Sure"
They have stopped in front of the Tavern. It was known for the couple, Lesley and Gusion. "Mr. Demon Hunter—" Ruby was cut off by Alucard saying
"Call me Alucard"
"Well, Alucard" she says it like it was a big deal. "This is The Tavern. The Love Tavern. Is this where you pick up girls?" Alucard chuckled at her question.
He said "Of course not. Only Johnson can do that" yet that was worse. "Do you think Guinevere Baroque's mad?" He asked.
"Of course not. Maybe yes, but she didn't even ask to be with him!" Ruby protested "It was supposedly an arranged marriage yet Guinevere had to find her brother and force him to do it"
"So Gusley is endgame for you?" He asked. And she nodded with no second thoughts. And in a second, a circle around them drew and Guinevere hopped to that area whilst Ruby and Alucard jumped in surprise.
Guinevere chuckled "Oh gosh thank you! For finally understanding! And to be honest, Lesley and I are friends. Gusion.. I am not gonna have another conversation with him. He's gross" she shrugged her shoulders.
Ruby looked at Alucard with an I-told-you-so look and he rolled his eyes. "Are you guys here for a date?! Oh my gosh! Go in! I am so sorry!" She chuckled and left.
Both of them were still frozen "She's fast!" Ruby chuckled. "She really is" Alucard stated since they both knew why she actually was quick. She thought that both of them were an item even though they weren't.
Alucard took a peek at the Tavern and saw just a few people was in there. And called out to Ruby "You still wanna go in?" He asked her and she nodded. Since she knows she deserves a break.
As they entered the Tavern, they sat next to each other at the bar and Alucard said "Drinks on me" and smiled. Ruby smiled back since this was a way to bring back gratitude and the drinks are free.
"I'll have your strongest drink here" she said to the bartender. But when she saw who it was. She was shocked. "Kimmy!?" She chuckled.
Who was this maiden? And why was she known by Ruby? Alucard asked himself while Kimmy answered her question "I know, I know. I'm working here part time" and rolled her eyes.
Ruby smiled more "But why?!" Kimmy wasn't one to work small jobs. She wanted to work big jobs. She wanted to help her family. And make her weapon/s stronger.
Kimmy sighed "Master Diggie and Gord won't let me mix potions until I can get every single drink here. Well, blended into perfection" and started to make the drinks.
Ruby wasn't shocked. This wasn't a job, this was a task. "The key to mixing is having perfect balance, taste and choices of liquids" Alucard added and both of them stared at him.
"Of course I know that. It's just, doing too much with only an hour as a break isn't enough" Kimmy whined. Yet Ruby scoffed at this "Of course it's enough! This is the only time I have breaks! Lots of people hand me cases and I don't have time to have some pampering done"
Alucard knew he was just on the side of this conversation. But something had to make him have her for himself. Yet he doesn't know why or how to do this.
So he toasted "To winning the 1v1 of he Century!!" With his drink and standing up. Everyone around them cheered with him and drank.
A few minutes pass by and Alucard has gotten a call "Granger, What's the problem?" He asked and left the Tavern. "I should go too" Ruby said with concern.
She didn't hear Kimmy's yell before she left the Tavern since something felt fishy.
Alucard has gotten off the phone with a frown and said "Something's up with the company. I must go" She nodded in response and left while she was about to say something.
"He was supposed to pay." She said and went back in. Paying for their drinks. "He left you huh?" Kimmy said. And Ruby hummed yes.
Kimmy took the empty cups and washed it. "He'll pay it back. He better" she said and continued to wash while Ruby left.
Ruby left with a huff. Why would he do that? After all she's done for him?! But from all of it, she blamed herself for going in the Tavern in the first place.

"You were right. He is going to play her" Kimmy said.
"I told you, we need backup Kimmy"
"Don't worry Granger. They'll come. They always do. We just have to fight this" Kimmy cried.
Granger hugged Kimmy. "Don't worry. Odette knows about these things and so does Belerick. We'll just ask them" He said, kissing her forehead.
Kimmy looked up at Granger "But I want to help Ruby. I need to help Ruby" she cries more. Yet Granger only hugs her more tightly.
"Me too, we both wanna help her. But with Alucard there with her. We can't" He said while thinking of an idea.
Kimmy pulled back and said "I know what to do" she was a vulnerable, needy girl one second. But an outside, has an inside of course.
