Chapter 11: My foster family
"I thought you would like your room pink," said Elizabeth.
"I don't like pink, it's not really my color," I said.
"I told you mom no one likes the color pink," said Sofia.
"Every girl likes the color pink, but if you don't like the pink we can get it painted in a new color," said Chris.
"Thanks," I said.
"We're going to leave you so you can unpack your things and settle in," said Elizabeth.
So as Sofia, Elizabeth and Chris left the room I started to unpack.
"I am hungry," I said.
I took my blood bags out of the suitcase and I drank 2 packs of blood bags. Then I put the rest of the blood bags under the bed. Now I can look at the pictures in the box that I found at my birth parent's house. There were three pictures. The first picture was of my birth father holding me as a baby.
The second picture was of a pregnant woman with black hair, brown eyes and red lips the woman in the picture was beautiful.I don't think I've seen her before. The last picture was of the same woman but only in this picture.She had a baby in her hands. My birth father was beside her with his hands around her and he and the woman were smiling.
"The the baby she's holding it's me," I said shockingly.
What does this picture even mean.Does it mean that my birth father had an affair before I was born I. I can't even think straight I said.
"Victoria time for dinner," shouted Elizabeth.
"I'm coming," I said.
I went downstairs for dinner.
"Are you okay?" asked Elizabeth.
"I'm fine," I said.
Victoria your face says otherwise. Your face looks like Sofia's face when she found out I am not her birth mother said Elizabeth.
"Wait! what you're not Sofia's mother," I said.
"Let's talk about it over dinner, Chris and Sofia dinner is ready," yelled Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth again with the yelling why can't you just call us using your inner voice," said Chris.
That's why I told you not to get a bigger house because when I called you while using my inner voice.You don't hear me but when I yell you hear me perfectly said Elizabeth.
"Can we just eat," said Sofia.
"Gladly," said Chris.
We all sat down on the chairs around the dining table in the kitchen then we started to eat.
"I thought you said Sofia is your daughter," I said to Elizabeth.
"I'm not her biological mother," said Elizabeth.
"So what happened to your biological mother," I said.
"She died when she was giving birth to me," said Sofia sadly.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"Me too," said Sofia.
"But at least you and I have one thing in common,"said Sofia.
"What?" I asked.
"Both of our birth mothers are dead," said Sofia.
"I'm not hungry anymore," I said.
"But Victoria you're not finished eating," said Sofia.
"I'm lost my appetite, I'm going to my room," I said angrily.
"Can't you be nice to her?" asked Elizabeth.
"No" said Sofia
"Aren't you going to say anything to her about her bad behavior," said Elizabeth to Chris.
"Sofia be nice," said Chris.
"Sofia goes to your room," said Elizabeth.
Ding ding ding went my phone as it rang.It was Zari calling me.
"Hello Zari," I said.
"Hi, I just had to call you because I didn't like how we left thing,"said Zari.
"Me either," I said.
I'm sorry about what I said and I'm sorry for getting angry about you spending time with Damon. I just got jealous because you were spending so much time with him, can you forgive me said Zari.
"Of course, I forgive your my best friend," I said.
"So how is the new home and your new family?" asked Zari.
"Ahh it's been it's been," I said.
"You said it's been two times so I'm guessing it's not so good," said Zari.
"I mean the family is good and nice except for Sofia my sister," I said.
"What do you mean," asked Zari.
"I don't think she likes me very much" I said.
"What makes you say that?" asked Zari.
"She said the one thing that we have in common is that both of our birth mothers are dead," I said.
"She did not say that," said Zari.
"She did she literally say that the only thing we have in common is that both of our birth mothers are dead," I said.
"That's messed up," said Zari.
"I know but I think she's having a hard time you know cause it used to be just her and her parents and then her parents adopt a teen," I said.
"Yeah, it must be tough," said Zari.
"Anyways I going to bed talk to you tomorrow," I said.
"Later," said Zari.
After I was finished talking to Zari I went to bed.
