Chapter 29: Kidnapping

After that, we're about to leave, but someone breaks into the office. Immediately, I get in front of my aunt and look around. I also use my Mana Manipulation to spread it around, to know any moment that happens in this place.

I look at the place where someone breaks in, but it isn't someone; it's something. I see something wrapped in cloth.

I decide to check, so I walk to it, but I feel a strong pull from my shoulder and see it's my aunt. She smiles at me, "It's great, and I'm happy to see you come forward to save me, but don't worry, it's nothing serious. Take back your mana."

I nod to her, but only after checking that there is nothing wrong do I take back my mana. I want to check what's in the cloth, but my aunt doesn't let me.

So, I think of using my mana to see what's in it. As I think about how I can do that, I hear my aunt say, "Let's go out; we shouldn't touch or go near that unknown thing. Let Lisa handle that; after all, that's why she is here."

I nod to her and secretly make a small thread of my mana, one thread attached to the unknown thing wrapped in cloth and the other in my hand.

My innate skill, Reader View, is an amazing skill. This skill gives me infinite ideas to use my abilities. Using the thread to know what is inside the cloth is one of the ideas that the Reader View skill gives me.

I come outside with my aunt, but the mana thread I left behind is still attached to the unknown thing wrapped in the cloth.

It takes lots of Mana, but I know what's in the cloth: a memory card and a letter.

"Aunt, there is a memory card and letter in the cloth; there is nothing that can harm us," I say to my aunt, who is trying to call Lisa, but Lisa isn't answering her call.

"How did you know?" My aunt looks at me in surprise and asks.

"This... I use my mana to make a thread, and if I attach this thread to any non-living organisms, then I can know what that thing is made of, what type of properties it has, and what it's used for," I explain to my aunt.

She frowns and decides to go inside, but she doesn't let me inside and cuts the mana thread I have with that thing.

The door isn't locked; if it's anything else, I might obey my aunt and not try to go inside, but it's about my aunt's life. Someone might use that memory card to blackmail my aunt.

If that's the case, then I have to know so I can support her and do something about it. So I went inside and saw my aunt with a letter.

She is clutching the letter so tightly it might tear up any second. However, she sees me and calms herself down, saying, "Sit there for a while; I'll be back in a few minutes."

"No," I shake my head, "I'm going to come where you go, and I want to know what happens. If you think of me as someone you care about and love, then tell me, otherwise..."

I stop there, as I don't want to speak more. Even what I speak is too much for me to handle, but if I don't speak like this, my aunt isn't going to say anything to me, so I have to say this to her.

She looks at me, and her face changes several times before she tells me, "Lisa has been kidnapped by some people, and now they are asking for something from me."

She talks as she walks to her laptop, and turning it on, she inserts the memory card. I walk over to her and see the laptop screen. How can such a little thing show so many things? I always think about this.

My heart beats faster as I see the scene on the laptop. I see Lisa, the beautiful woman, hanging by a rope. The rope is tied around her wrists, making her hang in the air.

Then there is a man who has an injection in his hand. "Evelyn, get us the thing we want in one hour," he says as he injects some purple substance into Lisa.

"You know what we injected into Lisa? It's Purple Mist, the aphrodisiac. Lisa is strong and might be able to endure this aphrodisiac for an hour, but after that... You will get a live S-Class Woman Banging Video, so get us that thing in an hour or you can see your friend becoming popular all over the world."

The man smiles as he speaks, and then the video cuts off.

I see my aunt visibly getting angry. She clenches her hands and teeth so tightly that blood drips from her hand and her lips.

"Aunt... I have a plan to save Aunt Lisa without putting us in any danger or giving them whatever they want," I say to my aunt.

"What?" My aunt's eyes widen, and she looks at me, grabbing my shoulder tightly and looking into my eyes.

Now it's just the first appearance of these guys who are after our dear aunt, but these guys are not much dangerous, and the more dangerous guys will come later in the novel.

But we saw the motive of these guys, they are after something Evelyn have, and now there is lot of questions. If she have something these guys want then why don't they attack her directly instead of Lisa and force her to give them items?

The answer will be in next chapter or after that chapter.
