Prologue: History
The year of 2120, society was at its summit. Problems that plagued the human race for centuries such as hunger, climate change and disease were slowly solved one by one by a global collective run by few.
However, that didn't mean there weren't any problems. Humans had always been their own worst enemy and human conflict was the best evidence. It had always happened, one could say it's part of human nature and with the increase of knowledge, technology improved only bringing about the rise of new and more dangerous threats.
On the eve of 2121 one woman, Green, put the world through what was known to many years later as the Borealis purge. A multi-coloured hue which could eclipse the Arura Borealis covered the sky, surrounding everything known to man. The Borealis purge consisted of a multi-pronged approach to cleanse the world.
The 1st prong- Mass annihilation. Large scale industrial-sized mental rods which humanity placed up in space to deter each other rained down from space, while the world's nuclear arsenal, which was supposed to be denuclearized, flew to predestined places. A total purge, anything and everything within those predestined areas ceased to exist in the world. What were once lavish and bustling metropolises, busy industrial areas, extensive ports, secret military compounds, all became nothing but large-scale craters and vast areas of radiated wasteland.
The 2nd prong- Isolation. The destruction of satellites was necessary. With the destruction of these satellites, all communications and Global positioning systems were crippled, isolating those areas not targeted by the first purge.
The 3rd prong- Reduced capability. The multi-coloured hue infiltrated and ran amok among the electrical grids. All electrical power hubs designed over the years ceased to exist now. Which resulted in anything that ran on electricity being useless. With society being dependent on electricity, this put places not targeted by the first prong to come to a standstill.
The 4th prong- Reducing knowledge. Paper had long stopped being used and books were things of the past. With the loss of electricity, all knowledge stored onto a shared collective platform and all storage places were now gone and useless.
The 5th prong- Death. All over the world, those not targeted were crippled and had to rely on themselves' due to the latter prongs. All those deemed threats and those with knowledge that could be deemed dangerous to future generations on earth were killed by green. All modernized technology and weapons were now gone, destroyed.
The human race that relied so much on technology was then sent back in history, to a time when the biggest threat was the nation next door. Green disappeared never to be seen or heard from again after leaving a few words to the remaining inhabitants of the world, "Grow. Humanity had tread down the wrong path. I, Green, have given you a new chance; do not believe in malicious false prophets or gods. The hue shall disappear from the sky henceforth, this is a chance. You are not alone."
