Chapter 150: Déjà Vu

"Did something happen?" Dan asked both siblings, who had remained quiet from the moment he told them they were leaving till they were halfway through the drive home. 

"Not at all. Maybe you should drop me off at Joan's house..." Bella suggested when she remembered that her parents would be home by now, and she didn't want them seeing either her or Dan. 

"I was thinking, do you both have to leave tonight? Can't you both just come home with me? I could drop you off in the morning before going to work," Dan pleaded, making both siblings exchange a look. 

"I'm sorry, but I already have plans for tonight with my parents, so I have to leave," Bella insisted.

"Okay then, we will just drop you off at Joan's home, and then Ben and I can return home together," Dan said, giving Ben a pointed look through the rearview mirror.
