Chapter 2: The Little Defender

A few years ago, in the Planet Katifea somewhere hidden far in the universe, It was one celebrated day in the Fairy Kingdom when Natia Finally had been born. Natia's parents, Dylan and Fae, and the rest of the fairy kingdom have been anticipating for this moment to come. Especially for the fairy queen, it has been all worth it to go through all her struggles and hardships for this day in order to save the fairy kingdom's future.

Natia, a playful, mischievous, sly girl, has pointed ears, green eyes and a charming face. She has grown to be the center of attention in the fairy kingdom. She learned how to fly, a few feet off the ground, depending on the gravity and powers she uses. Her health and safety have been their priority since she was the chosen "Protector" who can keep them safe and save the forbidden land creatures at the right time. She takes this as a joke. It was ridiculous to her because she thinks she doesn't fit the role. She never understands everything that is happening around her. All she does is play and have fun with the creatures in the garden and with her human parents. She got her wily attitude and charm looks from her father, who has been admired by many when he was on earth. She got the kindness of the heart and courage of her mother.

The fairy queen was getting worried about her. She was already 12 years old growing up being an average girl without strong physical strength and not showing extraordinary abilities. Natia was half-fairy and half-human just like her mother, but she hasn't been trained to use her abilities aside from talking to the Fairy Kingdom Creatures and floating all around. Since she is a half-human, it was a bit harder for her to adapt to the Planet. The fairy queen directed the Feletors to build weapons useful for Natia at the right moment whenever she engages in a fight in the future. Even though the Feletors did create and innovated, it became useless since nobody could teach her how to fight. They set aside all the innovative weapons in the meantime. Natia was not interested in those weapons anyway, but she kept one just in case. The fairy queen, who can manipulate her time and space, thought for another way to save the kingdom, she failed in doing so. She thought she made a mistake about Natia being the protector but believed it was right. She already saw that a Protector was indeed a human to be born. Although she wants to see the future again to check, she has abused her powers for a long time to save the kingdom; it will be very energy consuming for her than can cause her life. She needs to rest for a while.

One day, Natia passed by the tunnel. It is the tunnel going towards the forbidden land. She knows that her parents do not allow her to go there. Nobody is allowed. She was curious to see what's in there. Without overthinking, she went inside and finally saw the forbidden land for the first time. She saw how the Gigantic Borrocks are suffering from the dark Skoural energy. Some were making noises, and some were dormant. She wandered around, and surprisingly, nobody noticed her until she was too far from the entrance to the land.

"Are you feeling alright? What your name?" She talked to a small Borrock resting on one side. Typically, These Borrocks are aggressive due to dark energy and pain. But, she approached a weaker and kinder one—the one who is guarding the most forbidden tunnel.

"I am a Goi. There's no hope for us. The suffering is unbearable. It's hard to see the others suffering," Goi said.

"What happened to this land?" Natia Asked.

"What are you doing here? You're not allowed here," Goi, The Borrock answered the question with a question.

"I... I am a protector; I will help you." Natia hesitantly and naively said.

" You make me laugh, kid. I can be a better protector than you even on my weak state," The Borrock laughed in a mocking manner and a shallow, tired tone. Natia scratched her head and just smiled at him.

"The Skouras infected us. We need the purity flower to turn everything back to how they used to. The Fairy queen promised us. That time will come. We trusted her, but nothing is happening. They abandoned us," The Borrock was hopeless. " This tunnel has a portal to the end. It connects to Planet Pxi. Planet Pxi has a portal to the Human Kingdom, where you can find the flower. It's on you how to obtain it. The light borns are there to assist you, but the Skouras also linger in Planet Pxi; it is perilous there. You must be very careful," Goi said.

"Don't worry. I'll save the kingdom! I'll save you. Trust me," Natia caressed the Borrock to cheer him up,

"The Fairy Queen didn't even introduce you to us. How can I believe you? Nobody cares anymore. This madness should stop. You better be telling the truth, kid. The arrival of the protector is the moment I've been waiting for," Goi moved the giant boulder of rock that was blocking the entrance of the tunnel he was guarding. Natia walked through the long tunnel and reached the dead-end, and there was nothing there but a wall.

"A portal? How can I go to that portal? There is nothing to see here," Natia blank stares at the wall and observed it. She noticed that the patterns on the wall were not consistent and interconnected. She touched the wall and closed her eyes; her hand passes through. She was able to access through that portal passageway.

Two light borns, the guards of the other side of the portal, unexpectedly were frightened upon her arrival.

"Stay back! State your purpose of arriving here; we do not welcome any visitors aside from the fairy queen!" A light born said.

"She sent me here," Natia lied, "I am a human. I have a mission to finish with, I am here with peace," Natia added.

"Who are you? How can you stay alive on this planet when you are a human?" The lightborn was doubtful.

"I am also a Fairy...They say I am the Protector," Natia introduced herself innocently.

"The Diasoss!" The light born referred to her as the protector. They both kneeled and apologized once. They knew that one day a protector will come as told by the Fairy Queen. They let her go her way and followed her.

"Isn't she so young? I think there is something wrong, could she be an impostor?" The light born said to the other.

"The fairy queen said that the protector is a human; at first, I doubt that, too. Now, It's even hard to believe looking at that little kid," The other light born said.

"Even if she is, this isn't the right time for her don't you think? She is still young. If she messes things up, their Kingdom is history. We can survive, but then it will be hard for them; they cannot hide from the Skouras forever,"

Natia entered the light born Palace happily in wonder. She was wandering around the Palace when a chamber attracted her. The two light borns lost sight of her because she moves around too fast. She playfully hid from them. There a massive door for an entrance, and there was a hallway that she walked through. At the end of the room, there was a Rod of light pierced through a magical crystal. This light has been there for hundreds of years. The ancient, powerful lightborns created them in the past. Nobody is allowed to touch or pull it from its crystal. Ewerybody respected this rod. The Light Rod is a powerful weapon, but since the light borns are not creatures of war, they let this Rod dormant and untouched for a long time. The magical thing about the light rod is it has a life. It can move by itself and has rational thinking and recognizes its owners' feelings.

Natia, being a very naughty girl, pulled the light rod from its radicle embedded on the magical crystal. She was startled and amazed as this strong, and bright light rod flew around in sharp and quick movements. It woke up from its dormant state. Now, it recognizes Natia as its owner, but it needs to be tamed. The rod was excited to move around. The magical crystal made a broken glass noise that alarmed the whole light born kingdom. King Luminous was furious. He knew right away that the Light rod was meddled by an intruder.

"Epeigooon!" The King cried for an emergency, commanded the servant light borns to guard the entrances, and all passages to trap the intruder.

Natia tried to escape from the palace; she jumped through windows and ran away. Before she could escape, a Chromaborn caught her. She was tied up and brought in front of King Luminous.

"Who sent you here?!" King Luminous asked.

"I am from the Fairy Kingdom. The Fairy Queen sent me. Forgive me for my blunder," Natia begged.

"The Fairy Queen sent a little kid?" King Luminous was skeptical of her statement.

The king approached Natia to take a closer look and observed her appearance head to toe.

"You are not entirely a fairy. What are you?!" The king was enraged and furious.

"I am a half-human and a half-fairy. Forgive me I have no harmful intent" Natia said.

"A human?! The Protector?!" The king almost fainted and threatened when he knew that she was human. Humans have the power of will above other creatures. If Natia knew about this, she could take over the kingdom by command. He was frightened when he realized she is also half-fairy, which means she could live in Planet Pxi without having a hard time because humans cannot live in Planet Pxi.

Then light rod flew above them while they were conversing. The people tried to catch it, but no one succeeds. It passed by with sharp movements. It was strong can hurt anyone who goes near it. It escaped the palace. They followed it.

"What have you done?! Didn't you know that this rod is very dangerous?! It is exquisite and most valuable." The king showed a fierce attitude to cover his fear. "We should imprison you! How can you be a kid like you be the protector?" The King was furious. The skouras are out there. It will be hard for them to look for the light rod. The servants took her and threw her in the dungeon.

The light born locked Natia down in a dungeon. She pulled her little knife from her pocket that the Feletors made for her. She kept one at least. She tried to escape by knifing the tree-branch-like railings. She failed. A Chromaborn was with her on the other side inside the dungeon.

"A tough kid getting in trouble huh," Ignus said.

"I was just being a stupid adventurer. I can't wait to tell this to my father. He will be hysterical. What's your name by the way?" Natia was excited. She was still working on the knife.

"I am Ignus. I am a Chroma Born, a kind of light born. I can manipulate and emit colorful lights," Ignus showed his skills to Natia.

"Woah, that is amazing!" Natia said.

"I've seen a pure human before, like you, they are amazing. I liked how it is on earth. It was weird and different," Ignus said.

"You saw humans like me? How?" Natia asked.

"I was once a guard of the portal when I was 18 years old, but I disobeyed the rules and used the portal to go Earth. They threw me here as punishment and to keep it confidential. They made it harder to access that passageway portal. I am guilty about it. That is why it is okay for me to stay here; nobody will accept me even if I can escape. Lightborns are known to be peacekeepers, disciplines, and obeyers. There is so much freedom in our kingdom, but even so, Lightborns chose not to abuse it,"

"I am sorry about the Light Rod. I always get in trouble even in the Fairy Kingdom. I just want to have fun. Nobody seems to like it. I want to know about things I am curious about, too. I didn't intend harm, to be honest," Natia explained herself. Ignus smiled.

"You don't belong here, kid. I know you have something in you that you must fulfill. I heard the Protector is a human. It was impossible to believe at first. Now, I can see that. You are still young, you have to live and have adventures," Ignus used her Chroma powers on the branch rails, too strong light that was emitted those tree-branch-like railings retracted and opened the way to escape. Natia was amazed.

"You can do that? How come you're staying here?"

"I told you, Lightborns have much freedom even, at the time of their punishment. This is my choice. I made a mistake that I must face. Lightborns like me tend to chose what's best. As a favor, will you bring the light rod back in honor of my kingdom? I will count on you," Ignus smiled.

"I sure will!" Natia proudly said.
