In fact, Lily wasn't the only treasure.
The same applied to Alexander.
After all, he might be someone who would have seen the end of the world.
He knew what was going to happen and was willing to change the future using his knowledge from his first life.
In a fantasy novel scenario, he would be the perfect 'protagonist'.
There was no reason not to maintain a good relationship with him.
I could already picture him hoarding all kinds of treasures and even surpassing the strength he attained in his first life.
I thought that I might as well benefit from him.
"How much further?"
"We are almost there"
I could see Alexander observing the surroundings even while he answered me,
'He is watching out for monsters'
Clearly, his stats did not make him invincible yet.
Taking into account his stats, Class, Trait ad experience, he was already much stronger than anyone present in the entire Tutorial.
But, even he would succumb to a group of monsters if they surrounded us.
'That's why you failed to protect everyone in the starting point'
If he had that kind of strength, he would have saved everyone at the beginning
I looked ahead and could see a group of people waiting for them.
"By the way, there are more survivors than I imagined, are they all from there?"
"It seems like there are multiple starting points. But, most are from there as other starting points seem quite far away."
"Yes, if we expand our search we will hear good news. Just now I was looking for other survivors."

His Heroic character seemed more problematic than I thought.
I could not help but frown when I thought about this.
"You don't look good. A-Am I too heavy?"
Lily asked me after seeing me frowning.
"No, that's not it. I just thought about some bad memories."
"O-Oh.. thank you for saving me again."
I smiled lightly at her words of gratitude.
Supporting her was a little burdensome, but it was a minor problem.
It was more important to use every opportunity to get on her good side.
Lily's face was quite red, it seems like she wasn't used to making contact with the opposite sex.
Rather than sticking close to her. I maintained an appropriate distance.
Perhaps because of this, she seemed more willing to lean on me.
After we walked for a bit, we arrived in a wide space.
'A good spot'
It was a pretty good location.
There was only a single entrance and it seemed to naturally prevent monsters from entering.

This only made me more certain that he came back in time.
I observed the place for a bit and asked Alexander.
"It's a nice place but, it is blocked on all sides except the entrance, what do we do if there are a large number of monsters."
"We are acting as carefully as possible. We are also dealing with monsters in the nearby area."
"You mean to say..."
"Yes, I try to clear the nearby area as much I can"
'Damn, Just what kind of idiot is he? I really want to know who else goes on hunting with him.'
As we approached the group, a woman came to greet us. She was quite tall and had a charming figure.
"Mr. Alexander, you are back."
She flinched a little when she saw the bloodied Club I was holding, but surprisingly she maintained her smile.
'Good'
She seemed quite capable.
"Ms. Elaine."
"I was worried seeing that you were a bit late."

I could not help but mutter in my heart. Her stats were so bad that only her Intelligence seemed passable.
But, what caught my attention was her Character.
'Ambitious Strategist'
Judging from the way she talked with Alexander, it seemed she had chosen to butter up to him in order to survive.
Her situation seemed similar to mine.
"Ah.. Hello, may I know your names?"
"Erik"
"I-I am Lily"
"It's nice to meet you both. In a moment, I'll take you both to a place you can rest. Is that alright, Mr. Alexander."
"Yes, that would be helpful, Ms. Elaine."
"Of course, I'll do my best for you."
She smiled bashful, like a maiden in love, but I did not buy it.
Not after I had seen her character.
Seeing how she scanned me and Lily up and down, she was most likely calculation what role we would play in the group.
In the case of me, who was carrying a bloodied Club it was most likely a pass.
But, Lily who I was supporting it is an instant fail.
It was funny how she instantly stuck to me, and spoke in a lively voice.
"Were there any monsters on your way here?"
"Yeah, a few. But, we killed them all."
"Waahh... weren't you scare?."
"Well, it was scary at first, but I got used to it by now."
"Oh, I see. The shelter would be much safer with you here, Mr. Erik"
She spoke with a look a admiration.
However, I did not feel good about it. Right now, the other survivors were also looking at us.
I checked all of them with my Eyes of Truth, but all of them were mediocre.
I could feel their gazes on me, and they seemed relieved that someone who can fight had joined them.
'Sigh...'
Alexander seemed to have made this place quite safe.
For them, not for me.
