Chapter 47: Rain and Rainn

Will observed the rapidly shifting scene outside his window with an interested look.

Due to the extreme speed that they were traveling, distance seemed less like a hurdle and more of a source of entertainment as colors and biomes started merging together like one multi themed painting. One moment he saw green trees with emerald leaves making up an emerald sea, and in the next he was crossing a world of fire, lava, and eruption. They had passed over a few dozen settlements since the start of their trip but Will could only catch a small glimpse of them before his sight went from small houses and cities to forests and deserts.

"So this is what being a bird is like..." Will muttered inaudibly to anyone bother than himself.

"Is looking outside that interesting for you?"

Will let out a light chuckle, his eyes still glued to the outside scenery. "How could it not be? I'm seeing so many places while being in one place. It can't get any more marvelous than this."

"You always did have a thing for windows," said Seraphine with a curious gaze. "I never really understood why."

Will shrugged. "How long until we arrive at the border?"

"In a few minutes, why?" asked Seraphine with a curious gaze.

Will got up from his window seat and did a couple of stretches before giving Seraphine a grin. "It's time for me to work, that's why. If I want to cover the entire kingdom then it will be quicker to start now. Besides, it will take a little bit more convincing this time if I want it to rain."

"Huh? Why?"

"Jealousy."

"???"

Will clapped his hands together before yelling, "Rina!"

"Yes Will?" Said a cute little blue color schemed fairy as she materialized into the room. "Is it time to convince Rain?"

"Yes, it is," Answered Will. "What are the chances of me being able to convince Rain to rain?"

"13% if she is feeling particularly good, 100% because it's you and you always get what you want from her," said Rina with a slightly annoyed and peeved tone of voice. "It will take quite some time and convincing unless you already have a good plan of action."

"Perfect." Said Will as he made his way out of the room. A small set of stairs led up and out of the room which Will took without a moment's hesitation. The moment the stairs had stopped ascending, Will was met with a door which he opened immediately.

In front of him was a wide open area made of wooden flooring and looked very reminiscent of a sea ship. The only abnormal thing was that the ship like object Will was on was currently floating in the sky.

"I still can't believe that y'all had a Sky Ark," muttered Will with a slight sense of awe. "I heard that the kingdom of light only had ten of these."

Seraphine exited the set of stairs and joined Will on the deck. "That's true and false. Although we do have ten Sky Arks, those are our battle Sky Arks. We have plenty of other Sky Arks that are used for transportation and gathering. This Sky Ark is my personal Sky Ark that can be remotely summoned whenever I need. It doesn't need a crew to operate as well."

"I see I see," said Will while nodding. "That's cool to hear."

As Will and Seraphine ventured further into the deck, a familiar face popped out before them.

"Hello Princess Seraphine. A wonderful day to you Prince William."

"Hello Katrina."

"A wonderful day to you too miss female knight captain," smirked Will.

"I-I apologize for my earlier inappropriate rudeness!"

"Whatever miss hotheaded female knight captain."

"... useless prince."

"Excuse me? What did you say?"

"N-nothing Prince William!"

Seraphine frowned. "Can you stop teasing my knight Will?"

"Alright then," said Will with a small chuckle. "I'll stop getting off track now."

"What brought you two up here?" Asked Katrina with a curious look. "Is something wrong below deck?"

"Everything is fine," said Will. "I'm just going to start preparing for the rain show. Does anyone have a musical instrument of any sort?"

"Huh?"

"Excuse me?"

"I guess not," sighed Will. "Oh well. I'll have to rely on you Rina then."

"Yes sir!"

"Wait a minute," said Katrina with a confused look. "Why do you need a musical instrument to summon rain?"

"I'm starting now," said Will while ignoring the female knight captain who started fuming at the fact she was ignored.

Will sat down on the front deck of the Sky Ark and took a deep breath before looking into the blue sky. "Hello Rain. How are you doing today?"

The only thing Will received in response from his question was silence.

"Ahahaha.... it seems someone is a little shy today. Come on Rain, tell me how you are doing."

More silence.

"Oh no," whispered Rina. "Rain is really jealous today."

"Is that a bad thing," whispered back Seraphine with a worried look.

"You will see soon," replied Rina quietly with a serious look.

"Come on Rain," said Will, ignoring the conversation of Rina and Seraphine who were a few meters away, "let's stop acting like children and can you give me another favor?"

The sky grumbled as if it was complaining to Will about the lack of fair treatment but also to tell Will that she was listening.

"Perfect," said Will. "I knew that you would never disappoint me."

A little happier grumble rang through the sky.

"So the favor I need you to do is make it rain in this kingdom for a few days. First, make sure to give us a light but constant rain for a few days and then a few medium sized rain a few times a day for the next month. That's easy for you right?"

The sky rumbled in agreement.

"Good, you are the best!"

Suddenly, the sky let out a small roar.

"Eh? Why do I need it to rain for so long?"

A more controlled roar.

"Well you see, my fiancé's kingdom is kinda suffering and I wanted to help her-"

A lightning bolt came down and struck the Sky Ark a few inches away from Will's body.

"....ahahaha, you are such a tease," laughed Will with a wry expression

"Will is so dead," sadly admitted Rina.
