Chapter 45: To the Kingdom of Light!
(A/N: at this point I feel like I'm just exploring multiple ways to write and see what works for me and what doesn't.)
"Wait, why would we go to the kingdom of light first?" Asked Seraphine as a confused expression flitted across her delicate and pretty face. "There is not much you can do to help us."
A small smirk appeared on his lips as Will gave Seraphine a shrug. "I don't know really. What could I do? I'm not that good of a fighter so I would be pretty much cannon fodder out on the battlefield."
"Exactly," confirmed Seraphine with a serious look, her red eyes gleaming with intensity. "If you think I would let you fight for my kingdom when your kingdom of water is also in danger because you are my fiancé, you are wrong. I will not let you fight our battles and die in vain."
Will let out a small laugh, his black dyed hair swirling in the sea breeze like a black spiral. "You really haven't changed at all have you Seraphine. Don't worry about it though, I'm not going to you kingdom to die."
"?"
"Although I may not be able to help much in battle, I seriously doubt that I will be able to change the tides of war by fighting, but I fully am capable of solving another one of your problems."
"What? Is that so? Which problem," asked Seraphine, her red eyes widening like beacons in the night sky.
Will took out a knife and started to play with it using his fingers. The artificial light of the sea dungeon reflected off the blade causing it to gleam dangerously to all those who laid eyes to it. "Come on miss fiancé, don't you remember my nickname?"
"The rain catcher?" Asked Seraphine as she tilted her beautiful pale face sideways, "what does that have to do with solving our problem- ah."
Will once again used his handsome face to give Seraphine a smug look. "If you guys are suffering from a drought, all I have to do is make it rain."
"You can control it now?" Asked Seraphine with a gaze filled with interpretation, "or do you need to get beat up or angry again? I can always use Katrina as a bait and have her beat you up until it starts raining."
"E-excuse me miss?" Stuttered the female knight captain as she gave Seraphine a stunned expression filled with disbelief. "You want me to beat up prince William?"
(A/N: Fack it. The female knight captain shall now go by Katrina cause I can't remember what it was.)
Seraphine shrugged. "You did say that you wanted to kill sir phantom earlier. Why not settle with a mild beating instead?"
Katrina started to tremble. "That- that was because I was under the impression that prince William was a E rank adventurer of common birth. I would've never said or acted in such a manner if I knew the truth of his identity. Besides, I have heard rumors of the rain catcher prince's powers. I heard that a boy was instantly killed for hitting prince William and that the whole kingdom of water was subjected to rain for a year since the day of his exactions."
Will scratched the back of his head with an embarrassed but pleased expression. "Why thank you for the compliments but the insta killed boy is an over exaggeration. The boy only died because the healers wasted their mana on trying to save me. Quite stupid really. How could trained medical professionals make such a mistake?"
"And the year long rain?" Asked Katrina with a shiver.
"Ah, that's kinda true."
"Oh god," groaned Katrina as she placed her hands on her face. "Does that mean that the lightning storm from earlier was also due to your power?"
Will shrugged. "I can call in a light show once in a while. Rain doesn't like flashing lights you see."
"Rain says that she can't see Will when she starts flashing!" Added Rina helpfully.
"Does that mean that you can control your powers now?" Asked Seraphine with gradually widening eyes.
"I guess you could say that I have some control over it," said Will with a wry smile. "Although, don't blame me for what happens if you try to kill me."
"That means you could fully control the rain to come down in the kingdom of light!" Exclaimed Seraphine with an awe filled expression. "If you can make it rain for a year then you can definitely make it rain for at least a day in the country of light!"
"Exactly," said Will as he snapped his fingers in agreement. "Now all we have to do is get there. We get to your kingdom and bam, the rain shall fall."
"Thank you so much, Will!" Yelled Seraphine as she gave Will a big hug. "You are actually going to save my kingdom!"
"It is my pleasure to serve, princess," Will replied with a smile as he returned her emotional hug. "Besides, what kind of relationship do we share? We are engaged after all. I help you and you help me."
"Of course," nodded Seraphine from within his embrace. "Always to the end of time."
"So how will we get to the kingdom of light? By carriage? Walking?"
Seraphine paused before she gave Will a slightly naughty look. "How much do you enjoy flying?"
(A/N: due to a certain familial crisis I'm currently on a flight to Korea. I shall post two chapters for now. The last of the triple update will be after a 14 hour period I think? And I'll do another update after that.)
