Chapter 26: Anashvar

Blaze started his explanation once they were both seated.

"Elements are compounds or substances which are present in the environment and atmosphere, each of which have their own unique properties and abilities. There are five basic elements namely, fire, water, earth, air and wood. But that does not imply that they are the strongest. No one can say which one is the strongest. Do you have questions about anything so far?"

{Wow. I never would have imagined that I would one day teach the 'King of all Elements' about what elements are. But here we are.... I am excited to see the look on his face when he unlocks his elements in the future!}

{Reading about it and watching it in happen in front of my eyes are two completely different things. Once he starts unlocking all of his elements, his rank would become irrelevant because he would be strong enough to overpower someone like me quite easily.}

Frore nodded his head and asked, "Blaze what is your element? I have never seen you using it."

Blaze gave a self-depreciating smile.

"It's because I don't have one 'yet'. Not everyone can undergo "Elemental Awakening". There are only about 3000 people in the world, who possess an element. It is said that to awaken your element, you need to have a deep understanding of its nature and you need to call upon it from within yourself in a dire situation."

{Of course, I wouldn't know if I would ever have one. Since, I am not originally from this world.}

Frore nodded in understanding.

"Generally, people who undergo 'Elemental Awakening' only have a single element. But there are exceptions to everything and the same applies to elements. Out of those 3000 people, 30 are known to be compatible with two elements and one person, "Kravis De Randel" the first prince of the Randel Empire in the Eastern continent, is said have three elements."

{And you are the exception of an exception.}

'Compatible with all elements known to man.' That's what earned Frore the title of "King of all elements."

However, publicly he was stated to have 10 elements. It's because he had only used those in front of people.

"I have only told you about this for your knowledge, because it is something you should know as a hunter. You don't need to and should not force an elemental awakening. There were people who had tried it in the past, they all ended up becoming mentally unstable or were left with some sort of permanent physical disabilities, and they didn't gain an element to boot. Frore take this warning very seriously." Blaze said with a serious expression.

Frore nodded. ".... I understand."

"Good. Now, let's start with that training."

Blaze was lost in thought as he watched over Frore continuing with his exercises.

{It should be around this time that Frore met 'him'.}

The 'him' that Blaze was thinking about, was Fore's one and only best friend and rival, "Anashvar". Frore's life was filled with betrayals and tragedies. But it was not as if everything was bad, he did have friends and comrades.

It was when Frore was going through the dungeons while hiding his identity, because of the cultists who were after his life.

In a B - ranked dungeon that Frore entered, an error occurred and the boss monster turned into an A-rank. He worked together with Anashvar at that time to defeat it, as he was still not strong enough to take it on alone.

As obvious as it was, Frore just didn't rapidly started trusting him because of that. He was about to leave the dungeon when Anashvar grabbed his shoulder and asked him if he wanted to join his newly established guild "Supriye".

Frore immediately turned him down. But, Anashvar didn't give up. He would keep pestering Frore with questions and asked him, if he would like to work as a merenary hunter for them instead.

At first, Frore wanted to reject him again but then, he thought for a bit and asked him to make sure if he could keep his real identity hidden. Anashvar happily agreed to all of his conditions.

They slowly ended up becoming friends, as they went around the dungeons together and would even occasionally spar with each other to see who is stronger.

Until one day, when Frore wasn't together with Anashvar during a dungeon raid. The cultists, no more specifically, 'that person' who had gazed at Blaze and Frore earlier attacked the Supriye guild members and tortured Anashvar to get info about Frore out of him.

However, Anashvar kept his mouth shut until the end. By the time Frore got the emergency signal and arrived at that dungeon, 'that person' was already gone. Anashvar was already on his last breath.

The last thing he said to Frore before dying was: " I... didn't.. breach..the.. contract."

There were something that dropped on his face, he didn't need to look to tell what it was.

"Don't...cry..you idiot. It.. wasn't your..fault. Live a...good life."

As one might expect, this event had played a major role in accelerating Frore's darkening.

Later no matter how much Frore searched , he could not find out about that person's hideout nor their identity. They are just that good at hiding and manipulating information.

Only when 'that person' decided to attack Frore on his own accord, could he take revenge for Anashvar.

Anashvar is pronounced as:

"uh - nuh- sh- v - er"

The meaning behind his name is 'one that cannot be destroyed'

Quite ironic isn't it?
