Chapter 16: A Villain’s True Affinity is Death
We ran and ran and ran. Until we were out of breath, only then did we stop. We arrived at the village gates and saw a crater in a wall. The boys and I walked closer and found 2 people. We quickly push the girls back to not see, it was horrible. Blood splattered everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. Even on the little boy that gently closed the others eyes, and kneeled in front of it.
The boys looked at the scene, the purple guy ran away and vomited and I couldn't blame him.
The boy in the crater stood up and we saw him up closer. Messy black hair with big protruding bat ears. A bloody and tear stained face and clothes. A spiral in his murky hazel and crimson eyes. The draped blood stained night wings. And his bright forced smile.
He looked like a villain...

Smiling my best while ignoring 'most things', I don't want to disobey my mum. Nor did I want them to pity me.
"Hey guys" I waved at them, but I notice them starting across my body. I specifically saw Yuu with his eyes crazily reading something and then looking at me with amaze and annoyance. I sighed, I probably look really scary and Yuu's just jealous.
"Just wait a bit before, I clean up" I said, weakly carrying myself out of the crater. I flapped my wings and flew upwards very fast, effectively pushing the blood off me, but I don't know about those under me. This was my first real time I flew and it felt amazing as if I was on cloud 9.
Though it would've been nice to experience this with mum. But unfortunately I can't. Maybe in the future if I somehow meet her again.
In the sky I could see the whole village, in the middle of the village, I saw there was a huge meteor over head. Huh? When did this get here? People were running everywhere and escaping. Only to be swept up by a black blur and flash red paint on walls.
Great, two things that can easily kill us, we had to leave, NOW!
I returned down quickly to the ignorant group.
"We have to leave NOW!!! There's no time, if we stay here, we'll die!!!" They all shook nervously, even more so the girls. But they all agreed as it was true and was dangerous to stay where they were.
"Where should we go?" Said Will. I look into the forest and the others were thinking the same.
But do I just leave dad? I could go back, but even with the so-called affinity of death, I doesn't make me invincible...it actually might, but lets not risk it just yet.
I look at mums body, it should at least have a proper burial...

Leon was a very cute boy. When the purple kid ran away and vomited, I wondered what did that to him. But when I saw him walk out of the crater, I couldn't help but take a step back. But as I looked at his face, it was surprisingly calm and serene. As if he's been through this already, and considering the blood on him, I could only imagine what it looks like inside there.
We all saw him take to the skies, as well as blood coming off him. I wonder if I could fly too. Maybe he'll bring me up there one day...
When did I start imaging him and me!? The only one for me, is Yuu. When did I first like Yuu? I didn't know, we grew up in the same village and he was always surrounded by beautiful girls. Why can't look over to me?
But looking at Yuu now, I didn't know what was so special about him. Maybe his looks? Maybe his attitude? Maybe the way he blushes at older women while I can only get angrier, it's not fair! I'm still developing. I look down at myself.
I've got long way to go before I can reach the peak, especially with these mountains.
As I remembered, Leon came out of a crater. Why did the boys push us out of the way? While the boys were busy being jealous kids, I tried to push myself to look at the carter where he left from...

*Retch* Ughhhhhh, it was horrible...
I'm sorry for your loss Leon, you've must've had a terrible life to just brush this off like a fly.
As he returned down, we saw him with an urgent expression.
"We have to leave NOW! There's no time, if we stay here, we'll die!" Everyone was scared, our lives were very young and we've experienced what life could bring. I don't think I can give it away too.
We all hurried to the nearest gates of the village, but I saw Leon stay back. I look to Yuu and the group running, and then back to Leon carrying himself to the crater where the women was.
I followed Leon, who do I like?

I bolted back to the town square like a bullet. The village came by like a blur. When I arrived, the witch rose out of the rumble like a Phoenix with her wings of flames. The heat coming from her was hotter than ever, but nothing I can't handle. I adventured into Hells Den and survived the flames. You think yours can do anything?
"I'm sorry little bird, you might have to die once again today..."

Applejuice I’m sorry that I’ve been more focused on other characters other than our MC. In the up-coming volume I’ll focus on him a lot more. I’ll also stop powering him up for a it, because at this point he’s leaving the rest of the others behind.
I’ll also show you Leon’s, Yuu’s and Emilia’s stats and skill descriptions at the end of this volume, though none of them can actually see them accept Yuu, this will be here for you guys.
