Chapter 2: Maggot
Everything is still black.
I try to move. It seems like I am some monster with no arms or legs.
It feels really hot and I feel something biting a part of my body.
I shake it off.
Am I a snake?

It looks like I am able to check all my skills, my species, and burning. Burning seems to effect me the most atm so I check it first.
[Burning: Status effect that deals 1 damage every 5 minutes]
Damn! So every 5 minutes I will take 1 damage. I need to heal fast so I can stay alive. I like the extra challenge but it will go to waste if I can't overcome it.
I will check Acid Puke next since it seems the most overpowered. I hope God didn't give me some overpowered ability that makes my life easier. Then everything would be a waste.
[Acid Puke: A typical ability that baby maggots are born with. Anything that is eaten by the maggot will come out as acid dealing a small amount of damage. Will not work if there is nothing in the stomach.]
Good thing it isn't that strong. But it might come in handy. I'll check crawling next.
[Crawling: Grants the ability to move body at a slow speed.]
Ok. So it looks like I'm slow. Crawling allows me to move so it is neccesary.
I'll check my last skill, nibble.
[Nibble: An attack that deals a small amount of damage from a mouth without teeth]
Nibble and crawling were self explanatory and acid puke is also kinda self explanatory. It looks like my skills aren't that good but they will get stronger.
Maybe.
Well last I should check my species.
The maggot.
[Maggot: The baby form of a house fly. A weak monster that usually needs to fight with its kin in order to evolve into a house fly. Once evolving into a house fly it usually produces more maggots before dying within a day of its birth]
So I am expected to die today. Let's defy fate!
Well before that I need to fight with the rest of the maggots here. I now know what the nibbling was earlier.
It's time for a BATTLE ROYALE!
It's kinda like the maggot hunger games, I suppose.
I may not be able to see but I can move and feel. It's time to kill my brothers and sisters. Such is the way of life.
I hope eating brings my health back.
Even if they are my kin.
I move my head searching for some other maggots. My head rams directly into one.
I nibble with my heart and soul.
Although it doesn't do much damage us maggots are weak so it dies quickly.

This maggot is my first victim!
I nibble on the corpse a little and digest some of it.
It tastes disgusting but my victory tastes delicious.
Oh the juxtaposition!
I have finally earned a victory that wasn't handed to me for free.
Take that God!
This was just the first of many victories I will achieve by my own will.

Not just a powerful demon lord but someone who can defeat opponents without needing powerful tools.
Well enough rambling.
I need to hunt for more maggots.
All of us maggots were all born in close proximity so there are probably a lot of maggots nearby.
