Chapter 7: 7. Zhou Yeong? Father remarried.

He last said this before disappearing into his room. Suyin humped and collected it from Bai Yuming. Her nephew was always too busy to join her on outings!

"Tsk! What a tiresome child!" She blew her anger away and turned back to Mingxia, who was seated in the wheelchair. "It is best you get some shade on your face. We Mu are pretty famous in Beijing," She jokingly added, rolling into the car. The driver helped her seat Mingxia into the car and drove off.

In the Boutique.

A few minutes later, they were at the entrance of the mall. Mingxia could sense Suyin's joy at having her join her and was least bothered by what others would say—that is, if Muchen did not spread her death news around. She braced herself up and nodded her head, expecting to be rolled into the mall.

It was one of the most expensive malls in Beijing, and she had been here many times, especially for her expensive dinner gowns. She directed Suyin to the session where expensive gowns were displayed daily. Waiting for her in the wheelchair, Mingxia's face looked up at the poster. She had seen someone familiar, like her dad.

She had almost the same features as her dad except for the eyes, which perhaps distinguished them. Mingxia's face frowned as she read her name from the wall.

Yeong Zhou, Brand Ambassador of Tyrel

Therefore, it only showed that her father truly had gone to remarry another woman after her tragic death. Mingxia balled her fist and noticed Suyin was staring at her.

"If you do not like this mall, I can take you to another."

"No, it is not that, Aunty. I just saw something that triggered me." Mingxia said this while avoiding eye contact with her. Would she abandon her when she found out about her past? Her throat became soar, assuming such. She did not have any hope again in her life, but these people brought hope to fight! Fight for her rights!

"Yeong Zhou?" She read off her name from the poster and looked at her. "Let me guess that your father married after you died. Such a bad man!" Suyin cursed, suddenly starting to hate the young woman on the poster. She shoved it off her shoulders and noted the name down. Well, he lost such a wonderful daughter! He is stupid for doing so." She smiled to assure Mingxia that no matter what, he was a bad man. Mingxia puffed out a loud sigh.

"I never got to know about my mother before she died." Suddenly, Mingxia felt this urge wrapped around her warm smile. She had the most charming smile in the entire world, which explained why Lixin and Haoru doted on her very much. "I heard she was a lawyer before she died."

"Yes, Mu Lixin must have told you the reason why he brought you here and why he is also very serious about having you as his responsibility. He too lost his mother in a fire accident." Suyin paid the bills, took the clothing in vintage white nylon, and said when they were in the car "Your mother helped my sister a lot during her hectic marriage divorce process."

"Can I know more?" Interest sparked in Mingxia as she listened for details. She asked for clues. If she was going to make Muchen pay, then she had to make sure no stone was left unturned. He had to face his crimes one day or another.

Muchen ruined her life! He was the reason she was on wheelchairs with not a slight chance of ever being able to walk again in her entire life. Yet, amongst the difficulties she is going through, she is grateful to him for making her find a family that actually loves and cherishes her—a family she had always dreamed of since childhood.

"I really cannot help you with this one. I hardly had time to get to know her deeply. She was often the quiet but determined one, just like you. She had green, almond-shaped eyes like yours and brown hair. She was a pure beauty, but something about her was not okay. She never wore sleeveless shirts, tops, or gowns. It was always a cover-up suit. She was perhaps hiding injuries."

Suyin began her narration. She only knew Yvonne when her sister, Nuying, brought her home for a celebration. She was too busy to get in touch with her; on the other hand, she appeared nice and approachable. That was all she knew about her—nothing else.

"I guess so," Mingxia frowned upon hearing her confessions. Therefore, before she died, Muchen abused her physically, so she had to wear long clothes to cover up her injuries, which explained why he refused for her to take them up and furthered the allegation of her client, Alice's abuse case. He felt guilty, or so it seemed! "I should not have asked you, Aunty."

"You must be disappointed, right?" Her voice held a trail of sadness. Suyin shifted her gaze outside the window and tapped her fingers on her lap. "I know who can help you. I can put you on the call with him."

......…

"So that was your offer all along?" His eyes shot a flaming glare at the man in his early forties sitting opposite him with a smirk on his face. Lixin balled his fist angrily. "Go ahead, sue me! I will not give into your request." His voice sounding so adamant, Lixin laid his back down on the chair, folded his legs, and swirled the wineglass in his right arm.

The man opposite him could only glare, and when he was about to get up, two hefty bodyguards surrounded Lixin protectively.

"I should have guessed this is how you'd treat your father after your mother has fed lies into your brain, Lixin Ling." His teeth gnashed furiously as he sat back on the chair. He could not lose the show to him, not when huge debts waited for him. "My request is simple. Your mother left me nothing when she filed for divorce. I only want a 45 percent share of Mu's company! You dare not be SELFISH toward the man who gave you your life."

"Think about it, Mr. Ling. As you said before, my mother divorced you years ago when she caught you cheating on her. You both went your separate ways after that. What right do you have to ask me not to be SELFISH with my own inheritance?" Lixin retorted arrogantly. He was done with this shameless man. "I have not settled the score with you yet."

"You have no proof to hold against me for the fire accident! It was her fault for carelessly smoking in the kitchen. Nuying was mentally ill even before I married her. I see that is who you inherited yours from too. Mental stress is truly a trait in the Mu!" Haoyu spat out. His tactics were not going to work on him. He needed quick money to end his debts and, more so, to pay off drug officials.

His illegal drug business was on the line. A few days ago, business was booming for him, and yesterday, he got a call saying that his goods at the seaport were confiscated. He had no one to turn to; his brother, Haoru, had abandoned him, and his parents were ashamed of his turnout. Karma was truly a bitch.

"You are the one who made her mental!" He yelled, smashing the Bordeaux glass on the white tiles. Its pieces went flying, but his anger did not calm down. Lixin gritted his teeth and raised Haoyu by his tie. "Say that one more time, and I won't care whether you are my father or not; I will strangle you right here and now!"

"Go ahead; you will have yourself blamed for your actions." Haoyu struggled to grasp for air, yet he did not show any sign of weakness. The temperature of the room became a lot harsher when he felt he was losing oxygen.

"I will meet you then in court, Mr. Haoyu. I hope your lawyers are ready!"

Saying this, Lixin let go of Haoyu's collar instantly, causing him to tumble on the broken piece of the wineglass he smashed earlier on. His long legs took him to the exit, and before he was about to leave, he called. "Mr. Haoyu would be paying for damages,"

Lixin's wicked grin was plastered widely and brightly on his face, just wondering how Haoyu was going to pay for it. This was the most expensive restaurant in Beijing, and every meal eaten here cost an arm and a leg, including the glass he broke. The thought of Haoyu paying three hundred thousand dollar bill for a broken glass lightened up his mood. Once he said this, the waiter nodded his head and went after the disheveled Haoyu on the ground.

"Mr. Ling, that glass is about three hundred bucks; would you like a transfer, cash, or check as your mode of payment?" His belittling voice woke Haoyu from his stunned state. He stood up to run, only for the bulky security guard to stand in front of him. He gritted his teeth in rage and yelled.

"MU LIXIN! You son of a BITCH!"
