Chapter 34: Chapter 33: Shizuku's doubts

"Well? Did they enjoy the show?." Nader said with a smile that couldn't really be considered as such. His gaze was fixed on one point as if he was watching something invisible.

Even the two girls and the rabbit on top of the platform tilted their heads slightly to the side in confusion. They looked around to find the being Nader spoke of, but could only find the disastrous room along with the lifeless bodies lying on the floor.

However, they did not need to wait long as, naturally, the answer to their earlier doubts appeared before their eyes when Nader waved his arms.

Shizuku's eyes widened with surprise, not because of what had happened, not because two people appeared seemingly out of nowhere, but because she knew those two people too well to forget them overnight.

One of those people was a girl with shoulder-length black hair cut short. Her gaze, which was behind her glasses, revealed panic and madness.

The other person was a boy with long brown hair, whose droopy eyes were full of terror.

This was because they, although they were behind a spatial barrier that Nader had erected around them that made them invisible to the eyes of others, that inside could see outside naturally. That said, they had seen everything that Nader had done with the bishops and, finally, with the Pope.

"Huh? Eri-San? Daisuke-Kun? What are they doing in this place?" Shizuku asked with a puzzled expression.

It wasn't until Shizuku came out of her surprise at seeing her classmates in this place that she noticed the cold light that had passed through Nader's eyes as he looked at her two classmates, who had their mouths covered with condensed white energy that prevented them from letting out any noise.

Shizuku knew that Nader would not bring them here for no reason, but for some reason, she felt that that reason was apparently not a good one. But that was also Shizuku's main doubt, what was that reason? It was her question. However, she could not find a suitable answer.

On the one hand, there was a girl who had a quiet, shy, kind, and compassionate personality most of the time they spent together. With only these facts describing the girl, who could be considered a good friend to everyone, Shizuku could not find a valid reason for Nader, who had never been related to Eri Nakamura, to have brought her along.

On the other hand, there was a boy named Hiyama, who used to be quite annoying. Someone who had disrespected many of his classmates, especially one of them. That's without taking into account that in the past, he had tried to bully Nader.

At that moment, Shizuku thought that there was at least a reason why Nader had brought Hiyama with them. However, from her point of view, Nader was not someone who was going to kill a person simply because they had tried to intimidate him.

Even with these two reasons present, Shizuku could not find anything really serious enough for Nader to turn a cold gaze towards the two people in front of him, as if he was thinking of killing them.

That's not to mention that Shizuku was quite worried about Eri. Eri was not only her friend, but she also got along quite well with her other classmates, especially Suzu, whom she considered her best friend. Therefore, she knew that Suzu would be quite depressed and sad if she knew that her friend had met her death.

Despite her concern, she did not let her feelings cloud her view and looked beyond what was happening.

"... Nader, why did you bring Eri-San and Daisuke-Kun with us? From your expression, I can guess that you in no way dragged them here to chat with them. But..."

"Oh, I was about to explain," Nader interrupted and looked up to meet Shizuku's worried gaze.

"You see, I didn't want my future plans to be interrupted by someone. That's why I thought of eliminating everyone who might do something foolish later on. And it turned out that of all the possible candidates who might change sides, it was these two people here."

Shizuku thought about it for a few seconds with her eyebrow raised in contemplation and asked, "Switch sides? You mean, like betrayal in some way?"

Nader nodded in response and continued, "If it wasn't for the memory fragment I got from Noint's memories, I wouldn't have realized this, and most likely, in the worst-case scenario, not only the people of the kingdom will perish, but also the friend you care so much about now. And of course, this could even trigger something much worse."

Although Nader did not care about people, let alone the Kingdom of this world, he did not want his plans to use Ehit's followers, which in this case are the demons and humans, to position them against the very God they worshiped to be interrupted. However, he believed that the demons would be much more stubborn in their beliefs and the Faith they had towards their God. Though, if that turned out to be the case, Nader really wouldn't mind getting his hand a little dirty to destroy an entire race of this world.

Although Nader's base stats were low enough to think about defeating Ehit right now, if he used his [Divinity] which multiplied ×10 his base stats, he would have a total power of over 20,000. A power whose potency already slightly exceeded the strength of his previous life.

That said, he thought that Ehit probably didn't surpass him much in the power category, considering that the world level wasn't that high. Therefore, he didn't really need to use puppets to take on a world god, however, he simply wanted to do the same thing that Ehit had done countless years ago.

The reason he wanted to do this was that he held a bit of a grudge against Ehit because he had supposedly tried to use Yue's body as a container for his soul.

As for whether his goal remained the same or he discarded it midway, it depended entirely on Nader's mood and patience.

...

The two people who were bound shook their heads from side to side desperately, as if they wanted to deny what Nader had stated earlier. The girl's tears began to pool and spill from the corner of her eyes in an attempt to gain sympathy.

However, to the utter despair and dismay of not only Eri, but Hiyama as well, everything that had come out of Nader's mouth was something they could not deny, so trying to refute the truth that had its own facts behind it, was nothing more than looking for a futile way to try to get out of this situation.

However, Eri who thought a little more, calmed down a little, after all, Shizuku couldn't believe someone who wanted to judge them without any proof other than words.

At Nader's statement, Shizuku couldn't help her expression to be disturbed, she even felt her heart was heavier than usual; not because of the news of what could happen to the kingdom, although worried, she wasn't worried to the point of worrying about her good friend Kaori, who was possibly involved within the plans mentioned by Nader.

"You said Kaori is involved in this, right? ¿In what way? ¿Is she okay?".

Ignoring the Shizuku who kept asking questions to receive answers, Yue passed close to her while giving her a sidelong glance before letting herself fall downwards, not caring about impacting the ground.

Seeing this, a small smile formed on Nader's face, and he opened his arms to grab the transcendental vampiric beauty falling gracefully from the sky. Soon, the golden hair bubbling along with her pleasant fragrance accompanied by the softness of Yue's body entered Nader's embrace.

Like a snake and at the same time as a small kitten, Yue curled around Nader and snuggled against him while burying her face in Nader's neck to fill him with soft kisses full of love.

"Nader..." Yue's voice was brimming with affection and love.

A vein throbbed in Shizuku's forehead as she witnessed such a scene again. Just as Shizuku's anger was about to come out to the point of having the strong urge to jump on Nader to pull his ears, Nader began to speak while rubbing Yue's back.

"Although I don't know your friend's current situation or where she is at the moment, she had managed to escape along with her partner safely without them being aware of what was coming."

Despite not knowing their location, just hearing the part that they had been able to escape early made Shizuku let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Then, the only thing left for us to do is to keep looking for her...". Shizuku muttered and grabbed the bunny girl who was curled up on her head to hug her. The moment she felt Yuki's fluffiness, Shizuku felt the weight of her heart purify.

She looked at Nader, the person she was very grateful to for accepting her request to search for her friend, for without him, she couldn't leave the kingdom to search for her friend's traces.

Snapping out of her thoughts, Shizuku narrowed her eyes at Eri and Hiyama, who still wore a pale expression.

"You said they could threaten to endanger the inhabitants of the kingdom, right?". She paused and, seeing Nader nod, continued, "Although that would be impossible to accomplish with their current forces, you said that that apostle girl was also involved, which would possibly have made things a lot easier. Still, what are they supposed to be up to?"

A hidden plan that could endanger an entire kingdom was absolutely not a situation one could scoff at. Besides, Shizuku was actually relieved that her friend, who was unaware of these things, was able to escape in time, otherwise, no one would have known what would have happened.

Of course, she could not simply accuse her former classmates because of some words said by Nader. However, although it was difficult to digest the possible betrayal on the part of one of his friends, he was also aware that most, if not all, had a mask that they could use as a means of showing only the part that one wanted others to see.

After all, wasn't it the same for her, who wore a thick mask made of seriousness and an armor of smiles?

Nader also noticed Shizuku's line of thinking, and he would be lying if he said he wasn't a little surprised that she didn't doubt his words that directly accused his former comrades.

"... Well. In any case, I think it would be much better and more believable if I showed it to you directly."
