Chapter 12: Prison Break.
Jack is determined to breakthrough in this predicament. The only problem that he needs to solve is not the guards that observes him all the time, but the special thread that binds his two hands that prevents him from using his skills.
He can still feel the flow of his mana through his veins, but when he start to gather it and try to materialize a small flame, the mana will disperse immediately.
Jack carefully observe this special thread using his eyes of magic and found out that this thread has a mechanism that it injects a mana when it sense that the person that binds it wants to use some magic.
'Atleast my eyes of magic is now part of my DNA. I can activate it without mana or else, I might rot in this cell.' He thought.
Right now, he is trying to do a miracle. He's not going to clump a huge mana so that he would not alert the thread rather he will inject his own mana to the thread.
After an hour, the thread becomes translucent. Meaning his experiment has been successful. What he do is simple, he tries to copy the mechanism of the thread. Jack inserts his mana to the special thread and disturbs its flow, hoping to remove its ability.

'Hehe now I can escape this pri-' Before he can finish his thoughts, the special thread becomes normal again. This kind of thread is not to be trifle with. His new skill can only disturb the item's mana in 3 seconds flat.
But this kind of problem is not enough for Jack to feel despair. He sneered and look at the thread thinking on how to destroy this item.
'3 seconds is enough.' He start again to use his Disturb Mana to disable the thread. Once the item is translucent again, instead of destroying it, he stored the item in his Duat thinking that if he destroyed this precious item, it will become a waste. This special thread will become a great asset for capturing enemies.
His hands are in the back so the guard didn't realize that the special thread is gone. The prisoner and the stare at each other without saying anything.
Suddenly, Jack winks at his guards and out of nowhere, he vanished. The female guard blinks a few times, thinking that she was hallucinating.
"What the? How is he gone? Did he teleport?" The guard carefully opens the cell to check if the surroundings has a clue on how he escapes in her prying eyes.
Suddenly, the female guard sensed that she was been hit by a massive force at the back of her neck. Her consciousness breaks without resistance. Before the body collapse in the ground, Jack catch the female guard's body and rest it carefully in the back of the cell.
"I know you're doing your job, and you're doing it great. But I have matters that more important than this charade. So why don't you take a rest here and have a nap." Since he didn't have any malice here, especially from the female guards who capture him, he didn't kill the female guard and didn't plan to massacre anyone here.
The only goal that he wants to be done right now is to look for Queen Persephone without alerting them. His instinct tells him that killing the Queensguard is counterproductive, it might result for him to be disqualified as a candidate in the trials.
For now, Jack disarmed the female guard and found a bronze short sword. Its sharpness is exquisite that makes the tamahagahane runs in its money. Obviously, he puts the sword and the keys inside the duat and close the cell.
After the looting, he proceed carefully and went out in the dungeon. He use his extreme senses to navigate the inside of the mansion. He also use vanish so he can escape from the prying eyes of the female guards.
While threading at the corner of the mansion, he notice a familiar face that he really didn't meet in reality. Jack saw the maid who reminds the queen that she has to take a bath.
To make his life easy, Jack carefully follows the maid and found out that she was going to her room since there is a sign that said 'Maid's quarter #24'.
'Its possible that her shift is done or she was just getting something in her' Without thinking twice, he follows the maid inside her room.
The maid's quarters is also simple. Like the ones in an apartment, not too big and not too small. It has a cabinet, a water closet and a single bed. Jack didn't expect for a maid to have this kind of luxury, atleast in his understanding.
Before the maid can remove her clothes, Jack appears in front of the maid.
"What a you doi-hmmmph!" Jack sealed the maid's mouth without letting her to finish her sentence.
"Listen carefully, Ms. Maid. Can you help me? Please?" Jack plead to the maid, making her have a surprise look.
Surprisingly, the maid nods and assure him that she will not shout and call the guards. Jack slowly removes his hands so the maid can now breathe properly.
After the commotion, Jack shamelessly sit in the bed and heave a sigh. Now he made an accomplice, he just hope that the safety of this maid will not be in danger.
"It is always a good manners for introducing first, My name is Jack Summers, Ms. Maid." He introduce himself hoping that she will become more cooperative. Little did he know that his skill charmspeak is now activating, making the maid become more obedient.
"Then I will also introduce myself, Mr. Summers this maid's name is Martha. Tell me Mr. Summers, how can I help you?" To think that the maid is more cooperative than he thought, Jack is now delighted in this event.
"Okay Ms. Martha, I have a favor for you. I want you to personally guide me in the queen's chamber." While he said his request to the maid, a booming sound envelopes to the entire mansion.
'The response is somehow late, they must discover the female guard is the one inside the cell. It's alright, I can still manage this, now that I have the maid's assistance.' he comfort himself hoping that this plan will not be doomed to fail.
"Anyway Ms. Martha, let's go now. We don't have time now. Please navigate and go inside the queen's chamber, I will be at your side but you wouldn't see me." To the maid's surprise look, the young man suddenly vanish into thin air without making a sound.
"It's alright Ms. Martha. I told you, I'll be by your side. Just navigate to the queen's chamber and I'll follow you." Jack reassures the maid and they now go out in the maid's chamber.
Now that he's more relax, he has the time to carefully examine the interior of the mansion. The corridors are simply neat and shiny. There are always a painting that he doesn't know where it originates, sculptures that even you are not an expert in that field, you will still notice the perfection of the masterpiece. Every nook and cranny of the mansion is so extravagant that even the multi-billionaire Bruce Wayne can't afford this.
Suddenly, he notice another familiar face that he met not long ago. The one who interrogates him, The valkyrie Sigrun.
"Ms. Martha, we are you going? Right now, we have a few problems and we're hunting an escapee inside the mansion." Sigrun immediately warn the maid so if she encounters the escapee, the maid will let them know his whereabouts.
"You don't have to worry Ms. Sigrun. I just want to visit the Queen in her chambers so I can request to have a vacation leave. As you can see, my boyfriend ask to have a time with him so we can have a date in the town." Jack's face become sour when he heard that the maid has a boyfriend now.
'It's not that I'm sexually frustrated and craving for girls. But to think that even a maid has a love life. I swear that to myself that when I'm alive again, I will have a beautiful girlfriend and if possible, marry her and have a lot of kids.' With determination, he confirmed once again the regret that he doesn't have when he was alive before.
"I understand Ms. Martha, just be careful for now since we have an escapee on the loose. Here, take this." Ms. Sigrun gave her an earring.
"This is a communication device so you can inform us if you ever saw the escapee, his appearance are black hair, blue eyes and somehow a slight handsome face. He also wears a black outfit that similar to a ninja." To think that the valkyrie will gave him a nice remark. Jack gave her a thumbs up, even though she can't see her.
"Thank you, I'll use this if ever a saw the man." After Ms. Martha accepts the communication device, Ms. Sigrun now wanders around in the hall, giving instructions to her guards using the same device.
"Ms. Martha, can you give me the device? Just put it in your palm and turn it yourself around." When the maid comply to his instructions, the communication device suddenly gone.
*gasp*
Ms. Martha was somehow surprise when the earring is gone. But she somehow collects herself and proceed to the queen's chamber.
"Mr. Summers, can I have a request?" Even though the maid couldn't see him, she obviously know that the young man is close to her. Jack of course want to hear this unexpected request of the maid.
"What is it Ms. Martha? I can of course willing to do it, as long as it will not prevent me to achieve my goals." He wants to acknowledge the request of the maid, but that doesn't mean he will sacrifice his only wish just to fulfill her request. They are not that close anyways.
"Please don't kill Queen Persephone. I already comply to you that I will help you to reach the queen's chambers, but the queen is good and very helpful to us." Even though Ms. Martha was subjected to the charmspeak, she has enough control to express her worry to the well being of there queen.
"You don't have to worry about that, Ms. Martha. I just want to talk to the queen, since I also have a request. Unlike you, who wants to have a vacation leave so you can flirt with your boyfriend." With a bitterness tone in Jack's voice, the maid slightly blush since she also want to spend time with her boyfirend.
A few moments later, they arrive at the entrance of the queen's chamber. Without knocking the door the maid enters inside the queen's chamber and let the door open wide so Jack can also enter. He tap the shoulders of the maid to inform her that he's now inside the chamber.
To his surprise, the beautiful lady that he saw in his dreams has white hair and black eyes. The only difference is she was stark naked lying in her bed, sleeping.
