Chapter 7: Chapter 7-You Have How Many Elements?!
Itachi stepped out onto the dark street filled with an ominous presence as distant screams were heard. He had upgraded all 49 stars in his starclouds for both fire and lightning elements.
His mid tier magic now had the same advantages as his low tier magic with 12 times the attack power. With His Mid tier magic becoming as strong as high tier magic Itaci knew he was prepared as he could be to face the upcoming crisis.
Gazing at the desolate landscape Itachi muttered "Im perfectly prepared. I am fully and completely ready for this" he said stoically before laughing at his own stupidity making references at a time like this. Itachi once again applied his gravity magic lightening his weight as he leapt through the air in the direction of the school.
While constantly holding the mid tier space magic was tiring, with his fast rate of recovery, the consumption speed was slowed downa good bit, and he estimated he could even continue for an hour before running out of space energy in his silvery starcloud.
Almost looking like a shinobi he naruto ran across the rooftops and Itachi quickly reached the Tian Luo magic highschool. He jumped over the campus fencelightly not attracting any attention.
The whole student body was in a panic as One Eyed Wolves and Red Eyed Ape Rats made their way up the school slope desperately held back by a few teachers and students as they bought time for retreat.
Seeing the familiar faces of Mu Bai, Mu Ningxue and a few other stronger students holding back the tide of monsters, Itachi abandoned his original plan of hiding his identity and destroying the threat with his space element. Instead he figured it was time to show the world his lightning element to save explanations down the road.
Abandoning the gravity manipulation Itachi ran up deciding to start off strong with his Lightning mid tier rank 2 area attack. He decided to remove his soul grade seed since these minion rank beasts would be dead either way, and increasing his attack another 6 fold would just be showing off.
Mentally shouting Thunderbolt Yaksha a destructive beam of lightning shot from his hand splitting into 20 different bolts that targeted the stronger One-Eyed-Wolf variants.
Instantly 20 different beasts collapsed to the ground much to the shock of the students who turned to face the winner of the school tournament.
The most surprising thing was how he showed off mid-tier lightning magic which made no sense because even if he had just awakened it, it should be at a low level.
Without giving the swarm any respite Itachi formed a full powered flame burst in each hand the dark blue flame swirling dangerously in the wind.
Throwing both of them out, a tide of blue fire instantly swept out quickly burying over half of the horde of minion ranked Red Eyed Ape Rats climbing up the hill.
Quickly forming more fire bombs in his hands the whole hill soon became ablaze in the heavily enhanced low tier magic that constantly poured out of Itachi's hands in a never ending stream.
When it comes to blast radius and power nothing compares to the explosiveness of the fire element.
Most of the creatures were directly burnt to death while the rest were thrown back down the hill by the explosive force steaming from the heat.
While mid tier fire magic would be much stronger, among the creatures below the highest was evolving rank minions with nothing greater.
It would be overkill if he used mid tier magic so spamming flame bursts to cover the whole hill was the best choice of action.
The teachers and students alike were shocked at this display of force. While the teachers were mid tiers as well, they did not have particularly destructive elements such as fire and lightning, nor did they have upgraded stars or spirit seed abilitites.
In fact most of them primarily defensive abilitites such as earth or water that was used to help protect students.
Having elements with more defensive abilities does not mean they were useless. The earth waves they sent out gave the students more time to defend as the monsters were pushed back.
Also some different mid tier earth magic included levitating heavy rocks to throw at opponents which could easily crush minion ranked monsters as well as trapping them with earth abilities similar to quicksand.
Similarily water mid tier magic while not very destructive was very good at group control. Summoning large waves may not kill very well more suitable for pushing the enemies back quite far keeping them at bay giving Itachi time to get over here to destroy the horde.
With the blue flames burning fiercely creating an impenetrable barrier the students began to cheer as they had pushed the monsters back forcing them to retreat from the campus situated on the hill.
Some students looked at Itachi with worshipful eyes while others cried in relief. All their lives they have been warned about the dangerous of the monsters and now a calamity descended onto their city that was only described in horror stories.
A blood red calamity meant chances of survival were minimal as the entire city was threatened to be wiped out.
Hundreds of monsters climbing towards students who had never even seen a monster was too much when some directly fainting at the fear of death.
A line of monsters was directly advancing with little they could do to stop it. The principal who was a high tier earth mage was out the day this occured and nobody knew where he was.
The teacher who could be said to have the most destructive power would be Tang Yue with her fire magic, but while she may have a low grade spiritual seed giving her a 2.5 times damage boost, it was not enough to deal with so many monsters in the area.
Also the lack of having Itachis insane recovery speed left her running out of magic soon. Her second element shadow was very good for escaping but the shadow spikes were not good with dealinlg with such a large group attack and she along with the other teachers were getting overwhelmed.
Mu Ning Xue who recently reached mid tier rank 2 judging by the looks of her ice chains may be very good at single target attacks with her crushing ice chains, but again they are not very destructive in groups while her blizzard ability even with the influence of her evolving spiritual grade seed was still not able to do much more than slow them down with such a vast number of enemies.
Mu Ning Xue walked up with a smile asking the question everyone wanted to know at the recently returned prodigy "How do you have the lightning element? Even if you awakened it how could you bring it to mid tier that quickly.
Itachi replied simply that during his awakening he had the rare talent of initially awakening 2 elements, so he had chosen to hide his lightning element while he showed off his fire element to everyone.
While a few already suspected it, they were all suprised hearing of the rare talent which had only been seen a couple times.
It would be very useful to have one extra element as it would add alot more versability to a mage with an increased range of options. Of course, they were under the impression that he would only awaken an extra element during his first awakening while while Itachi knew he would awaken a staggering three elements every time. Luckily his Lil Loach necklace became alot stronger as it absorbed alot of energy from the spring water. His cultivation speed should be boosted a good bit after this.
While the gathered group was chatting away Itachi decided he needed to take charge. While they were currently safe there was a multitude of warrior ranked beasts roaming around, and while he was confident in his strength, he wasn't so sure about preventing the others from dying.
In a loud authorative voice he said "While we may have escaped danger this time, what we faced was nothing more than a small portion of the monsters in the city."
"We need to evacuate to the safezone where there is a blockade of a large number of strong mid tier mages including the legendary high tier general Zhan Kong who will protect you all from the monsters" using Zhan Kong's name to help rally the students down was a smart as everyone here idolized the strongest mage of Bo City.
Hearing they were moving under his wing to be protected from the monsters calmed down many of the people who panicked at the thought of moving. "Moving through the city we will travel in a tight formation in a light jog. Don't panic if we see a monster, others have your back.
Take your time casting magic as getting panicked will only cause you to fail. Me and the teachers will protect you from to the best of our ability, but you need to be ready to fight too.
Let this situation be an foundation to your mage training. You will get scared at some points. You will be tempted to back down, but then you will remember this day where your hometown got washed in the blood of your people!
You will rise to the challenge unwavering you know death can't compare to when your friends, your neighbors, and even your family got killed by these bloodthirsty beasts becaue you weren't strong enough.
Are You The Gallant Mages Going to Hide Up Here On this hill While Your Loved Ones Are Being Killed? Itach said wondering if such a stupid line could motivate these simpletons.
Anger quickly filled their eyes replacing the fear of death as they grew angrier and angrier thinknig about their defenseless loved ones who relied on them the mages for protection, being mercilessly killed by the cruel beasts while they hid on their little hill.
Why did they become mages? Was it to show off a few flashy magic tricks? NO it was to protect the human population from the vast hordes of monsters in the wilderness which greatly outnumbered the humans in both numbers and strength.
It was to advance the strength of the human kind as a whole so they no longer have to be a food source for stronger beings. Should they wait till their last breath up here?
No they should go out fighting, and one day maybe stories would be told about the brave group of mages in no city who fought to the death defending their homes. They shouted out an anger while Itachi looked at them 'too easy' he thought. 'I definitely could have become a motivational speaker'
The now motivated students looked ready to charge down the hill charging at the monsters below. Smiling at their enthusiasm Itachi was satisfied with their now mob mentality.
Hearing footsteps behind him Itachi turned to face Mu Ning Xue walking up behind him. "look at the little general inspiring so much confidence into his loyal soldiers" she said in a teasing tone with a smirk on her face.
*Sigh
"Don't even get me started with that. Go tell them they have an hour to recover their magic before we move out I will handle any stray monsters trying to be sneaky by myself, you should go recover too. you only have 1 element and you used ice chains many times which much be pretty tiring"
"Yeah your right" she responded before promptly sitting down and drawing in energy to recover. Seeing her painful expression as she cultivated made Itachi a bit disheartened for some reason.
She was very naturally talented and her body both contained the ice natural spirit that will evolve along with her, as well as the very powerful hereditary ice bow of the main Mu family that she can't use yet.
Both were too great a strain on her body and she had to fiercely cultivate to prevent herself from being frozen to death.
Putting his hand hand out Itachi wanted to try something to ease her pain. Putting his hand on her back he felt in the air for fire energy before pushing the red dots of pure fire elemental matter that he made as passive and soothing as possible.
While a normal fire would't help much Itachi was using his control over the element along with the help of his developing fire domain infuse the sparks of fire energy into her body to prevent her side affects of cultivating.
Shocked at the warm comfortable feel spreading throughout her body driving away the bitter cold she was used too, she opened her eyes to see Itachi resting his hand on her back a look of concentration on his face as she felt warm inside.
A hint of a blush screening on her cheeks, she asked if Itachi could help her with her cultivate as she told him how everytime she cultivates her entire turns ice cold and it threatens to freeze her.
Nodding he said "you looked like you were in pain so I just wanted to help. I know how determined you are to get stronger, but this self destructive cultivation will be bad for you."
Gazing up to him she pouted cutely saying "It's not like I have much of a choice." On impulse he scooted a bit closer to her before putting his right arm around her shoulder his arm radiating the gentle warming power he had just recently discovered.
Afraid she would be mad at him Itachi was slighly nervous, but instead of moving away she moved closer and buried her cute blushing face into his chest muttering something about it being warm.
She she snuggled closer as Itachi wrapped his arms around her delicate body gently stroking her beautiful silky white hair. He honestly didn't know he was doing right now.
In his past life, he was a bit of a loner, but now he realized he had genuine affection for her.
He smiled a bit self mockingly and to think I was originally going to be a loner in this life also. Maybe this isn't so bad he thought feeling the warm body pressed against him.
Holding her tightly for the next hour Mu Ning Xue had already fallen asleep, her head resting on his shoulder as he supported. He was really starting to enjoy this, but sadly all good things come to an end which came in the form of a sniggering Mu Bai
"Looks like the two lovebirds escaped over here to be together" he said struggling to hold back his laughter. Xue'er woke up and after seeing where she was, she blushed in embarassment.
Sighing Itachi let her go as he knew it was his job to safely guide the students to the safe zone. and he had to be their for the rest of the students.
The wall of fire was still up as the blue flames continued to burn acting as a deterrant to all the monsters below which was quite helpful giving him a chance to relax a bit.
Getting up, both of them were quite embarrassed as Itachi shot a deadly glare at Mu Bai for interrupting.
Mu Bai felt a cold sweat on his spine "Well, I'm just going to leave so.... Bye!"
He finished running off while Itachi muttered disgruntedly "Coward'
If anything, he was much less pompous and Itachi could somewhat stand him. I guess after a few months even calling him an acquaintance isn't too much of a stretch.
After rallying everyone they moved down the hill along the road leading up to the school. they were in a very compact formation with teachers periodically spaced to help defend the students with the strong fire mage teacher Tang Yue at the point.
Itachi was pretty much a free spirit moving around prepared to stop any attacks, but Mu Bai couldn't help but loudly point out how he was protectively standing guard near Mu Ning Xue made him receive another fierce glare reminding him to close his mouth before it is closed forcefully.
Mu Bai could't keep the smirk off his face however. He couldn't help, but look forward to his fathers reaction over this development along with seeing how the two almost mortal enemies would try to make up considering Mu Ning Xue as a middle ground.
'1000 yuan on them attacking each other' he thought to himself before realizing he didn't have anyone to bet with. He started looking around playfully for to share his findings with someone, but Itachi spoke to him in a firm voice
"Focus Mu Bai this is not the time for this" Itachi said his whole demeanor changing instantly as he became went onto high alert, constantly scanning the surroundings.
Mu Bai was about to retort before a lightning bolt flew past his ear directly beheading the Colossal Eyed Ape Rat sitting on a ledge a story above prepared to leap down. Its dead corpse his the ground instantly giving Mu Bai a a cold sweat.
"Thanks" he muttered getting on guard as he prepared to cast Ice magic in response to any attacks
Stronger than most monster rat species as a strong ranked minion it could instantly kill him if it got close enough. All it took was one quick slash of its claws or bite of its teeth and he would instantly be killed.
While the shelter was only a couple miles away the chances of running into warrior rank beasts was pretty decent so they had to try to be as careful as possible to prevent running into many monsters.
As they made their way down the street there were quite a few people coming out of hiding seekling refuge with the large group of mages as they did not want to risk running through the street with many different monsters running around.
He also was concerned he would run into black vatican memebers who should be somewhere around the city. Seeing the light barrier of the safe zone he sighed in relief glancing to the right he made eye contact with Xue'er smiling warmly. If anyone asked in the future he would venemously deny standing protecively next to her the entire trip.
Making his way through the barrier he was immediately greeted by Zhan Kong and the entire conversation was very comical. First he asked for the spring water to which Itachi replied that he drank it.
Chiding Itachi that this was not the time for jokes Zhan Kong asked again to which Mo Fan pulled out the empty bottle stunning the high tier mage. "Definitely the best water I've ever dranken. By the way do you have anymore? Im quite parched" Itachi said with a noticeable smirk on his face.
Realising its the truth Zhan Kong went on a raging rant about how youngters don't respect history at all to which Itachi mostly ignored.
After a really long sigh he seemed to calm down before saying "at least we prevented the Black Vatican from getting their hands on it". I guess drinking it can be considered your fortune.
Seeing Xue'er talking with her father Itachi wondered where Mu He and Yu Ang were. Probably with the black vatican, but honestly he couldn't even be bothered to track them down.
Looking outside the light barrier he suddenly saw a large dark shadow touch down as the whole area went into panic Getting up he prepared for his first ever battle with a commander ranked beast.

Dato Chapter took a while but im happy with how it turned out. Im really tired right now as I stayed up till 3 to get this finished. May not be as edited as other chapters, but I still went over it fixing hopefully a majority of the issues.
