Chapter 4: Chapter 3

The Plague Doctor stood there, his eyes slightly widened. Throughout all his years fighting against the damned Pestilence, many people resisted, denying his cure. They feared him, shooting at him with their useless weapons.

Swords and spears did nothing, and bullets barely pained him. But whatever this was….. At this moment, the Doctor realized that whatever that…. Cannon before him was, it was dangerous. And that if he were to be struck by it, things might not turn out well. Dealing with resisting patients was very common in his line of work.

About to step back, the static became louder and louder, before a giant arcing beam of lightning struck the Doctor, setting his whole body alight. It was painful. The SCP screeched in pain, his every cell seemingly burning. The Doctor knelt down, as the Micro soaked him in electricity, stunning him.

"Get them!" The rest of the D-Class opened fire simultaneously, raining down bullets upon the rest of the zombies. Though some of them were once companions, with welling tears, the group knew that in order to give them the peace they deserved, they would have to eradicate them out of existence.

Jason gritted his teeth, as the Micro poured down electricity upon electricity at the Doctor, completely rendering the SCP immobile and stunned, and as burning sparks rose through the air, it stopped. All the static and noise around them came to a stop, as the lights above blinked and flickered.

"Let's move! The Doctor is out for now, but only for a bit, we must make haste!" Jason yelled, and the D-Class ran for the door. Grabbing the Useful Pouch, he sucked up the Micro and waited for everyone to get out.

Pausing, he crouched down, carefully laying 049 against the wall carefully. Patting the anomalies shoulder he left. Even if the Doctor was sort of a Psychopath in some ways, and attempted to kill them, Jason still respected him.

A man who was extremely devoted to his profession. Actually, Jason didn't even know if the Doctor was a man. It was sorta dumb, touching him, but Jason wasn't really thinking straight right now.

They ran through the halls once more, shutting every door behind them as they ran through the Facility, passing by many manners of things.

"Let's go!!!"

"We are still alive!"

"Thank god…."

"Thought we were dead for sure…"

"Doctor, down!!!"

"Jason you wonderful man! Please let me kiss you!"

"Hell no."

"Okay~"

They ran through the halls before Benedict roared in excitement:

"The Entrance Zone!"

He turned to Arjun, who nodded. The rest of the D-Class stepped into a vastly different room. This one had two gates before them. Above a sign, reading in blocky white letters said "Entrance Zone".

The Zone held two doorways or gates. They were made of heavy-duty iron of sorts. The left one was stained with dried blood. Next to the floor, was a dead scientist. His head was twisted both in horror and literally. The man had his neck twisted.

"Aw, sh*t. The Peanut." Arjun groaned, and the rest of them followed in terror.

"Do you think it's in the Zone?" Benedict asked Jason.

"Most likely…. " Jason stared grimly at the bloodied door, cocking his gun.

"D-Boys! Swipe the card and dip…." Arjun said.

One of them nodded, reaching into his pocket and removing a slick yellow card. He crept over to the door, the rest of them staring in anticipation. Another D-Class, this time a young woman with messy blonde hair, readied herself, a stun grenade in hand.

Steadying himself, the D-Class pressed the card to the door, and a short ding could be heard as the door slid open, revealing a long hallway.

The woman immediately threw the grenade down the hall, and the rest of them covered their ears.

*Bang!*

As the stun grenade detonated, Jason charged into the Zone, followed by Benedict and Arjun, their weapons at the ready. They all looked around the room. There wasn't anyone in there.

"Remember. Keep your eyes open, and if you see the damned Peanut, scream as loud as you f*cking can." Benedict said to the rest of them.

"Don't scream. Just gesture, don't want the Guards on our arse." Arjun spoke too, and the rest of the D-Class became a little confused.

The group walked down the halls, passing by a bathroom. The more they walked, the more they saw bodies. The corpses wore blue body armor and possessed weapons. The SCP insignia was emblazed on their shoulders and backs. It appeared that a whole MTF unit had been wiped out. The D-Class proceeded to loot them of their guns and ammo, which would definetly come in handy later.

A common trend in deaths was their snapped necks. The Peanut had gotten them. SCP-173, the Statue, was a twisted creature of concrete and rebar. A "Modern Art Piece" of sorts. When no one was looking, that was when it struck. The creature loved "crunching", or snapping unsuspecting necks. Pretty much every D-Class in Site-19 had to deal with it at some point. The standard cleanup procedure was always done by the D-boys, so they in a sense were much more experienced in this regard.

Though there was some suspense to its location, Jason thought of any remaining Foundation Personnel as more dangerous. While the Statue was inhuman and dangerous, as long as the lights were on, they could deal with it quite easily. Just stare at it. Meanwhile, personnel, could possibly be armed, and had firearms.

Just, as long as the Facilities generators weren't turned off. The D-Class really hoped so. Unless you had night vision, in the dark, the Statue was basically a death sentence. The bastard would immediately turn from Euclid to Keter.

They continued on. Passing a bathroom, Jason nodded, and a group of them went inside. Then, the sounds of toilets flushing reached their ears. Even if they were in a life-death situation, one still had to empty their bowels, right?

He and Benedict stood there, chatting. Even with his grim-looking demeanor and scarred face, Benedict was actually a really good guy. Upbeat, lively, and friendly, he was truly a great companion. Arrested for Monkeywrenching, Murder, and Thievery, the man had been a true Animal Rights advocate. Though, he still enjoyed seafood.

While some of the other D-class also had quite a sad sob story, Arjun, while being the nice, loyal, albeit a little toxic guy he was, had been caught after robbing a bank. Why had he robbed a bank? Simple. Money. Honestly, most of the D-Class here had their crimes motivated by money. In the world, among the unknowing, money was supreme.

Well, Marshall, Carter, and Dark would say the same thing despite their interactions with the anomalous. Jason, while interested in the many groups of interest, hadn't gone as deep into their lore. All he knew about the lot was that they were an Economical Powerhouse in the anomalous and normal world along with some other various pieces of information.

"We are so close… Damn, I knew the third time would be the charm!"

"God… Though so many comrades won't be able to experience it…"

"Damned Foundation."

"True that."

Benedict hoisted a Logicer over his shoulder, squinting into the distance. The Logicer was one of the most devastating guns in the Foundation's arsenal. Actually a remix of a Chaos weapon, this bulky LMG could tear through most people with ease, and had insane fire rates. (Looted from the Heavy Armory)

The rest of the D-Class, though loosening up a little, were also really paranoid. Anyone who had a part in the Foundation would grow paranoid after some time… After all, the anomalous were almost always unpredictable and unassuming. Most were also complete bastards.

"So, you guys done?" Jason cupped his hands.

"Yup."

"Yes, Boss."

"Done."

A few D-Class came out of the bathroom.

"We have everyone?" Arjun said.

"Yup."

"Yes, Boss."

"Done."

"Seriously?"

"Yup."

"Yes, Boss."

"Done."

"Goddamnit. Why do I have to deal with you guys." Arjun shook his head, and beckoned for them to hurry along.
