Chapter 2: Chapter 1: Meeting and Planning
'Okay, since the power I gave you is much too powerful, I shall tone it down so I wouldn't have too much of a hard time finishing this book.'
"Okay..." said the girl, confused and afraid.
'But first, let's change the scenery.' The voice said, and the scenery is now set in the young Lady's bedroom. It was quiet and awkward for a few seconds but it felt like years for the young Lady.
In the midst of silence, the words «the efficiency of the Skill: Fourth Wall Breaker has now decreased» appeared in front of the girl framed in a crystal green window.
"What is this?" she asked.
'Since the effect of the skill I gave you is a bit too powerful for my own liking, I have taken the liberty of effectively weaking the skill until I improve my own skills' said the voice.
"Yes, you said that earlier but what is this window pane-like object in front of me?" the young lady points to the system in front of her.
'I call that, the "System"! While it's not exactly the most original idea I've had, it should help you be notified of any needed event!' they replied. (While I'm sure that most readers would say that the contents of the system are up to me, I'm still going to try working it out.)
"It seems rather... futuristic..." she says, holding her hand up to try and touch the transparent screen.
'You won't be able to touch it unless I give you option buttons! Here, have an example."
The screen changed its contents to the following:
«The Author of Blind Ideas wishes to grant you a Skill»
«Accept?» «Decline»
'So now, you click accept. I'm giving you a compensation skill for nerfing the one I originally gave you.' a mysterious gloved hand points to the «Accept» option.
"...nerf? what's that?" she asks while pressing the option.
'That's not something you need to know yet' the shrugged the question aside.
«You have been granted the sub-skill: Skillful Handiwork Lv.1»
"Skillful Handiwork? what does this do?" she asks the voice.
'You can do many things with this skill. As a noble, you are required to do many trivial things such as playing instruments to please any guest that comes to visit, writing invitations for tea parties, sewing, arrange floret to your liking, and other things I can't be bothered to list off..'
"Do I have to do those things on a daily basis?" the young Lady shivered at the thought.
'Not really, but you need to polish this skill so you can be considered as a decent background character.' said the voice.
"Right... I'm a background character.." the young Lady sadly remembered, now in the verge of tears.
'Please don't cry. Being a background character is better than being the main character, you know?' the voice tried to console the now crying child. 'You'd be able to live your life however you wish! Main characters always have the world revolve around them, and are mostly unable to fulfil their dreams of slacking or lazing around!' they continued.
"..." the child stopped crying and (tried to) look in the direction where the voice is coming from.
"You've never consoled a child before, have you?" she irritatingly asked.
