"The one who saved you. Don't you know that trying to pry into people's minds is a sin?" He said with a knowing smile.
After hearing that, Jean got silent and began processing her situation. After her 'parents' tried to send her to a Nazi organization that she read in history books, she lost control of her powers while trying to get them to stop the car. Now she's riding a freaking dragon with an unknown man who she assumes to be a mutant just like her. She calmly asked: "Are they dead?"
"You're surprisingly calm, and yes they are both dead, as I doubt any normal human would have survived that. " He calmly answered. Then ordered Kaisel to land not far from a nearby town. Hearing his answer, Jean felt lost. She may have hated them, but she needed them because with them gone, she's alone. "So, what's your name?" He asked after they landed and made sure no one was around.
Hearing his question brought her out of her daze. She looked at him and got a better look on his face. He's a handsome young Asian man who seems to be in his twenties with short black hair. But what caught her attention was his sharp purple eyes.
"Hello, Are you there? Are you done checking me out? I asked you a question, and are you gonna ignore the fact that you tried to read my mind?" He asked with an unreadable face while grinning inside.
Hearing what he said, Jean blushed from the shame, and her face became the same color as her hair. Then she composed herself with some difficulty and answered: "Ahm, I apologize for that my name is Jean Grey, and I am sorry that I tried to pry into your mind as it has become a habit. But if you don't mind me asking, are you a mutant like me?" To that, Ashborn was a bit surprised, as this isn't what you would expect from a person that just lost her parents. Then he calmly said while stretching his hand for a handshake: "Well, no, I am not a mutant. My name is Ashborn Blackheart, Nice to meet you Jean." Jean returned the handshake while her eyes moved between him and the 'Dragon'. She found his name familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
"So Jean, mind telling what happened to you?" He asked, not expecting her to answer, but to his surprise, she began to tell her story from the beginning. After some minutes, he asked: "So what will you do now? You're all alone with no known family and relatives, and from the rumors I heard, the mutants aren't very welcomed in any country." He said, while he already knows her answer.
Hearing his question, Jean was absolutely lost. What he said is true, and she doubts the organization with the name 'Haydra' will let her go. Then she heard him say: "Why don't you follow me? I don't mind taking you with me, as one of my subordinates is waiting for me in New York. I can protect you from a lot of people, as you're the phoenix host. We can think of something in return later." He said with a smile then called Kaisel went back to his shadow which quite surprised her for a second.
After some thinking and finding no other option, she said: "Alright, I guess I have no other choice. But tell me Ashborn what did you mean by 'The Phoenix host'?" Ashborn turned around and summoned from his private inventory a car that he created in his free time. The car is a black 1967 Shelby." I will tell you on the way." Ashborn said while he got in the car, not looking at the astonished Jean. She then took the front seat and was already getting comfortable, "Straight to New York?" Hearing her question, Ashborn nodded, then turned on the car and smiled after he heard the roar of the car.
And with that, they started the journey across the country, heading to New York. And while they were on the road, Ashborn began telling her about what she is and who's the Phoenix.
