Chapter 1: Ch.1 Not Interesting

Being told I have to relocate because my old and apparent “nemesis” has escaped prison, sucks. So thank you universe, for nothing. I used to work in New York’s finest until 5 days ago. 5 days ago the department got word of his escape. And he is a notorious criminal with a horrible sense of humor. Like, seriously, your whole motto about how I ruined your life and I’m gonna pay is seriously annoying. God I sound like a teenager… Where’s my coffee? I groan and slump out of bed, sliding on my checkered slippers. I stretch and yawn, heading downstairs for the kitchen. I side step multiple boxes that have yet to be unpacked. The kitchen was gray and gloomy, seeing as there was no sun spilling in from the windows. Just a bundle of clouds that over took the skies. I grumble as I realize my coffee pot is still hidden away in which ever box. I didn’t even label them. I really should have. Oh well. I go back upstairs and enter the bathroom. Luckily my shower things was packed in a bag that I carried with me. I got in the shower and took about 10 minutes. Why do people rush in showers like it’s cool to get out of here in like 3 minutes. I really hope they’re clean. I wrap a towel around my waist and go to the mirror, picking up my tooth brush. After I brush my teeth like a hygienic person, I notice I have a bit of stubble darkening my jaw. I dig through my black shower bag and find my razor and gel. I end up not cutting my self so that’s good. I take a look in the mirror and note the dark circles below my eyes. My eyes were a dull green today with some yellow surrounding my pupils. Weird right? I comb through my hair, which is, at the moment, somewhat long and almost black. I go back to my bedroom and pull out some clothes I had put into the brown dresser that occupied my room. There was a light blue button up and some neat black pants. I tucked in the shirt and searched for my belt. Finally looping that through. I put on a sweater over top because I know its cold outside. I made sure the collar was fixed so no one get mad. I eventually remember I have a phone and since everyone else’s lives revolve around these things, mine does too. I pick it up to only one text message, from my co-worker. Her name is Grace Montoya. She is part of our dispatch team. Which basically means she takes the 911 calls and sends enforcements. She is favorited for having the highest marks and, what I would guess, her striking beauty. Don’t let it fool you though. She is full of attitude. Probably the funniest person I know. And it’s unintentional, isn’t that great? The text reads, ‘You better not slack off, ill be checking in with your new department.’ I rolled my eyes. I’m in Washington now so it’s not like I have that much to do. Everyone here is so bland. The people in New York were too but they were interesting none the less. I once saw a lady walk her fully buttered toast down the sidewalk. She threw it into the streets and when a car ran it over she started screaming and crying saying, “My toast! No!” Like why? Did she have no more bread or something? And, you live in New York, I’m sure you can afford a donut right down the street. Then again maybe not. I responded to Grace with, ‘It’s nice to know you care.’ She answered quite quickly and said, ‘Im glad it pleases you, now go to work you undiagnosed dallop head.’ Ok…whatever that meant. I stuffed my phone in my pocket and checked for my wallet and keys, heading out the door. This is going to be interesting. Not.
