Chapter 22: Thugs of Oyama Village
The sound of people walking, talking and working could be heard. Kentaro and Hatsu were from the village.
"Welcome, welcome to Oyama village. Buy my little bracelets, only one Ryo! Bracelets for one Ryo!"
At the entrance of the village, an old man had lots of bracelets around his two forearms. He shouted their price to the people who were entering in hope to sell them.
"Hatsu, do you want one?"
Kentaro noticed that Hatsu had not one collar or accessory in any kind, so he asked her if she wanted one.
"No thank you Kentaro, we only have enough for the meat."
Well he didn't have money himself, so they just entered the village and walked to the butcher.
"This village is very lively, Hatsu, where are the guys who stole my katana?"
Hatsu didn't want to answer.
"Hey Hatsu, where are they?"
Hatsu's sudden silence confused Kentaro. Why didn't she want to tell him?
"Let's go buy the meat and not spend more time here."
She accelerated her pace and so did Kentaro to keep up with her.
They soon arrived to the butcher, he had a lot of different kinds of meat.
"Oh Hello Hatsu, How are you doing? Is this a new friend of yours?"
The butcher seemed very kind, it seemed that he knew Hatsu.
"Hello butcher Lee, I'm doing very good. Yes, this is a new friend of ours."
"Good, so what can I get you today?"
Hatsu began looking at the meat and Kentaro began looking around.
There he saw a group of ten men pushing the old man in front of the entrance. He fell to the ground and they began laughing and taking away his bracelets.
The thing that surprised Kentaro was that nobody reacted, it was as if they had seen nothing.
"Young man, you should not interfere with those thugs. They terrorise our village, beating people up and stealing their merchandise is what they do the most."
Kentaro was sure of it, these thugs were the ones who harassed Hatsu and stole his katana.
"Butcher Lee, do you mind giving me a knife?"
Butcher Lee looked inquisitivly at Kentaro and wasn't sure what to think about his question.
"Why do you need one?"
"To get back what belongs to me, those thugs have stolen my katana."
Butcher Lee didn't ask any further, he gave Kentaro a knife. It was a pretty big knife.
Kentaro made way towards the ten thugs, they looked at him with provocative eyes.
"Hey you! Give me your top, I like it."
They all began encircling Kentaro, he had put the knife in his pants. He had one hand in it to take the knife when necessary.
"Hey fucker, he told you to give him your top and not to put your hand in your pants!"
"Listen to me thugs, you have stolen my katana and I have come here to retrieve it."
The thugs looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"Hahaha! Motherfuckers, who do you think you are?! You're gonna give us your top and right now, unless you wanna die."
Kentaro shook his head and looked back at them.
"You asked for it."
Taking his hand out of his pants, Kentaro had taken the knife. Brandishing it to the the thugs.
Some of them also pulled knifes out.
This took the attention of all the villagers and Hatsu. She ran towards the commotion and saw the thugs encircling Kentaro.
"Kentaro! Flee!"
The thugs saw who was shouting.
"So this slut is also with you. After we have taken care of you, we will take care of her."
They charged at Kentaro but he was already gone, nowhere to be seen.
The thugs felt a gust if wind and it was Kentaro, moving so fast that he was invisible to them.
Kentaro got behind one of them, planting the knife in his neck and moved towards the closest one.
He kicked in his throath, that kick crushed the thugs throat. Kentaro then went for another one of the thugs, punching him in the torso.
The punch was so hard that it broke the bones of the area, piercing the thugs heart.
He looked at the remaining thugs, they had scared looks on their faces.
"If you want to live, bring everything that you have stolen of the villagers and bring me my katana."
The thugs soon did what they were asked under the supervision of Kentaro.
They brought filled wooden boxes where layed everything they had stolen.
Kentaro retrieved his katana and unsheated it. The blade had no damage unknown to Kentaro, this was good.
Kentaro opened one of the boxes and saw lots of Ryo.
"Where did you guys get this money from?"
The thugs dared not to lie and told the truth.
"This money belongs to the people of this village. We have stolen their money and put it in this box."
Kentaro distributed the money evenly to the villagers, they were all very happy.
The villagers also recuperated their belongings and cussed at the thugs when they had the occasion.
"Habitant of Oyama village, what should I do with those thugs?!"
The villagers all had the same thought and they all expressed it together.
"Kill them!"
"Yeah kill those bastards!"
....
....
Kentaro approached the remaining bandits and sliced their throats one by one, making them bleed to death.
The villagers were all smiles, they had finally gotten rid of those thugs.
"Young man, take one of those bracelets. It is my way to thank you."
The old man gave a green bracelet to Kentaro.
"Kentaro, thanks God you are safe."
Hatsu ran towards Kentaro and hugged him from behind, she was very worried for him.
"Thugs and bandits pose no threat to me so it's nothing. Here take this bracelet, this is my gift to you."
Taking the green bracelet in her hand, she looked at it for a couple of seconds.
"You don't like the color? I can change it for you."
"No, I love it, thank you Kentaro."
Kentaro and Hatsu left the Oyama village, everybody would forever be grateful to the young man with the straw hat.
Kentaro and Hatsu were welcomed back by grandma Riko.
"Welcome back Young ones, so where is the meat."
Hatsu handed the bag of meat to grandma Riko. She noticed that it was heavier than usual.
"I know what you're thinking grandma Riko, but the people of Oyama village loves me. Butcher Lee gave us a bit more meat than usual." Kentaro was proud of himself.
"I see, well it is time for me to cook. Hatsu come and help me too."
The trio entered the shack.
