Chapter 7: Qi

Fang Xia let out a chuckle, observing Liang Wei's unease.

"Don't worry, Porky, I'm not one to bite," she quipped with a playful grin.

As her gaze shifted to Zhang Mei, her mischievousness intensified.

"Looks like you've found yourself a mate. Can't wait to see a litter of Piglets running around," she added, laughing lightly.

Zhang Mei's expression fell at the teasing, and Liang Wei couldn't bear to see her upset. He felt his anger rising.

"Take that back," he ordered, his face contorted in a frown.

Fang Xia appeared taken aback by Liang Wei's sudden change in demeanor.

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" she asked, her tone tinged with disbelief.

"I said, take back what you said and apologize to her," Liang Wei repeated firmly, his frown deepening.

Fang Xia's face contorted, taken aback by Liang Wei's audacity.

The boy with the cocky grin, sensing the tension, strode forward and got up in Liang Wei's face.

"What did you say to her?" he bellowed, pushing his face into Liang Wei's. Liang Wei recoiled momentarily before composing himself.

The crowd that had earlier dispersed now reconvened, eager to witness the unfolding drama.

Liang Wei knew he couldn't back down in front of this many people.

He caught a glimpse of Zhang Mei in the corner of his eye, her hands clasped in anxiety and worry etched on her face.

'Come on, Liang Wei. You got this!'

"Did you not hear me? I asked her to apologize to my friend!"

Liang Wei repeated, his voice louder and more forceful this time, so that everyone in the cafeteria could hear.

"Ugh!"

Liang Wei gasped as a heavy punch connected with his solar plexus, caused him to lose his breath. He clutched his stomach and fell to his knees, trying to catch his breath.

"How dare you?!"

As Liang Wei gasped for air, the cocky boy continued to rain punches down on him, striking him again and again with his powerful fists.

Each blow felt like a sledgehammer to Liang Wei's body, and he felt like he was being torn apart from the inside out.

The sound of bones cracking echoed through the hall as the cocky boy's fists connected with Liang Wei's body.

The crowd gasped in horror, and many of them turned away, unable to watch as the boy continued to pummel Liang Wei mercilessly.

"How is he still standing?" one bystander muttered in disbelief.

"It's futile," another whispered, shaking his head.

The cocky boy, for his part, was equally stunned. He had expected Liang Wei to crumble after the first few blows, but instead, the boy kept getting back up, refusing to give up no matter how much punishment he took.

'What the hell is wrong with this guy?' the cocky boy thought to himself, his fists raining down on Liang Wei's battered body.

'Why won't he just stay down?'

Zhang Mei, meanwhile, watched in horror as Liang Wei continued to take a beating.

She couldn't bear to see him hurt like this, and she felt a surge of anger toward the cocky boy who was causing him so much pain.

"Please, stop!" she shouted, tears streaming down her face.

"Can't you see he's had enough?!"

But the cocky boy paid her no mind, and he continued to beat on Liang Wei with all the strength he could muster.

Liang Wei, for his part, was barely conscious at this point. His body was broken, and every breath felt like agony. But still, he refused to give up. He refused to let the cocky boy win.

Summoning every last shred of strength he had left, Liang Wei stood up once more. He swayed on his feet, his eyes half-closed, but he refused to fall.

The crowd around them erupted into cheers and gasps of amazement.

Even Fang Xia, who had been watching in disbelief had her eyes wide open with shock.

"How is this even possible?" she muttered to herself, unable to tear her gaze away from Liang Wei.

And still, Liang Wei stood. His body was battered and broken, but his spirit was unbreakable.

'Qi...'

Fang Xia was shocked to see Qi flowing within Liang Wei's body.

The concept of Qi had been around for centuries, passed down through generations of martial artists.

It was said to be a natural energy that existed in the world around them, and that could be harnessed to strengthen the body and mind.

However, in modern times, the techniques to awaken Qi had become the exclusive property of martial arts families, making it a rare ability to come across in the general population.

Fang Xia knew all about Qi and its power, having grown up in a family of martial artists herself.

She had been trained from a young age to harness her Qi, to use it to enhance her strength and agility.

Seeing Liang Wei, an ordinary person, with Qi flowing through his body was shocking to her.

As she watched Liang Wei continue to stand up despite the brutal beating he was receiving,

Fang Xia couldn't help but wonder if he was aware of the power he possessed.

Meanwhile, the cocky boy was growing increasingly frustrated as his punches seemed to have little effect on Liang Wei.

'Stay down, you idiot!' he muttered to himself, his fists still striking at Liang Wei's battered form.

The crowd around them was murmuring in shock and disbelief, some of them starting to back away from the violence.

Zhang Mei watched with growing concern, her hands clasped tightly together in worry.

"Liang Wei, please stop! You don't have to do this!" she called out to him, hoping that he would hear her.

But Liang Wei was too focused on staying upright, on proving to himself and the crowd that he was strong enough to take the punches.

Fang Xia could not stand by and watch any longer. She stepped forward, her eyes narrowing as she glared at the cocky boy.

"Enough!" she shouted, her voice ringing out through the crowd.

"You have lost. Now leave him be."

The cocky boy looked up, startled by Fang Xia's sudden intervention.

He could see the anger in her eyes and knew that he had gone too far.

Without another word, he turned and walked back to stand beside her.

Fang Xia turned to face Liang Wei, her expression softening as she looked at him.

She could see the bruises and cuts on his face, evidence of the beating he had endured.

"You," she said gently, "please stop. You've proven your point."

Liang Wei looked at her in surprise. He couldn't believe that she was speaking to him so kindly after what had just happened.

Fang Xia turned to Zhang Mei, a look of remorse on her face.

"I apologize for my rude remark towards you," she said.

"I hope you will forgive me."

Zhang Mei wiped away her tears and took a deep breath before responding.

"I can forgive you for the things you said to me, but I cannot forgive you for what you did to Liang Wei," she said firmly, her voice tinged with anger.

Liang Wei struggled to his feet, wincing in pain as he did so.

"Hiss!"

Zhang Mei rushed forward to support him, concern etched on her face.

"Are you alright?" she asked, her voice sweet and melodious.

Liang Wei couldn't help but notice the way her breasts gently pressed against his chest, providing a soft and comforting cushion.

He found himself getting lost in the sensation of her supple flesh against him, feeling a warmth spread through his body.

"I-I'm fine," he stuttered, feeling embarrassed.

"Well, you don't look fine," she replied, her concern still evident.

Liang Wei couldn't help but quip, "Well, I've been better. But at least I have a soft landing spot now."

Zhang Mei blushed at his comment, but she couldn't help but smile at his attempt at humor.

"You're an idiot..." She muttered under her breath.
