02 ll The Escape
This was not the first time my brother was sent to a war, he have always fought for the safety of the Monians even he does not need to. My Mother 'Lummiene' always told me that I was given a gift of foreseeing the future through my dreams. I did. I saw glimpse of future in my dreams, often wars and death; but never my own.
This time, it was different.
"I saw him. I knew it was a different war now," I said to myself as I try to calm down. I wanted to stop this war now, for I know there would always be great consequences.
This war was not anymore about conquering the 'Land of Dawn' but this time it was about hunting 'us'. My mother is a Moniyan and my father… he was from the abyss. They know, and we know that their relationship was wrong and will never be right in the eyes of the abyss. But thankfully, the Moniyan understand their situations. So, they protected us, and keep both of our parents secrets.
That there was a person from the abyss living in the Moniyan's place; and they bore childrens… that was 'us'
I have the great feeling that this war was already about finding us and making us pay for the wrongs we have done. But is really wrong to love? Or was it really wrong to crave for freedom and just live peacefully? Was its wrong to ask for peace?
I knew that this night would be long… and I need to escape.
I quickly grabbed my robe and secretly run out from our place, and proceeded to the forest. There was a maze that I have always loved to sneak in, at the end of this maze was a beautiful small lake and behind the lake was a beautiful gem they call "Twilight Orb".
I saw the Minos guarding the gates, I knew that they would be here. So, I just changed my mind and turned around but before I could go back, my head started to pound really hard. I felt like my hed would tear apart.
I heard voices.
"Lunox" I heard the voice said.
"Ah! Stop!" I screamed and held my head in pain.
"Lunox, come" the voice called again, that made me fall in the ground because of pain.
"I'm not Lunox!" I cried as pain consumes me, it was horrifiying.
"Lunox… Dream" The voice said once again.
I knew I was about to give in to the dark because my body felt heavy and I cannot anymore bear the pain… "Please, Stop"…I was sure I'm in the brink of collapsing but before it happened I heard a voice.
"Maiden!" the voice shouted before darkness consumed me.
I felt the wind kissed my cheeks and forest grass brushed into my skin, So I opened my eyes to find the moon shining in the night sky. Oh, No… did I fell asleep in here?! What happened? I hope there's no one who saw me in this forest. Lume, you'll really get yourself killed in no time.
I quickly stand up, and search the place if there's someone who saw me. "Thank God, there's no one who saw me!" I deeply sighed.
"Really?" A baritone voice said that made me jumped.
I quickly turned around to see who's that person. But seeing his face made my whole body froze.
He didn't looked horrid or monstrous, he actually looked gorgeous… but he was from the abyss… I know.
"Who are you?" I asked him in a threatening tone. I know that fear is starting to embraced me but I have to be brave, because no one is to save me this time.
"I just saved you and you look like ready to kill me?" he said calmly, but there's seriousness in his voice.
"Saved me?" I questioned… "Really? Why do I feel like you're more taking me as a hostage?!" I said sarcastically and threw him a look.
"Wow! The confidence of accusing me…" He said annoyed… "I should have left you there, so the Abyssal Queen could have eaten you alive." He added.
I rolled my eyes, "What are you even saying, I was near the Minos maze when I passed out!"
"Oh, darling. You were at the boundary of the Abyss and Moniyan when you have passed out." He said… "Lucky you, Selena was also hunting her prey that time." He continued.
He threw me a sharp look… "And if it was not me who saved you, you're already with the gods right now" he said arrogantly.
I breath out in irritation, "Fine, Thank you!" I said very insincerely.
"I'm going home Sir." I said and started walking.
Moniyan is going to east not west, Maiden" He said correcting my direction… I quickly changed my route. "Moniyan is also far from here" he also said.
"Who are you?" I said.
"You'll soon know who am I… I'm not yet fulfilling my destiny." He said.
"How about you? Who are you? Are you also trying to steal the orb" He added and asked.
"Mr. Stranger, I am not born to be a thief." I sarcastically said.
"Then… are you Lunox?" He asked, that made me stopped.
"No. I am not Lunox." I said.
"Consider me to be the one who escaped, Mr. Stranger." I said, and smiled.
He smiled back that made my heart warm, "So would you give me a ride?" I asked
He just nodded, and he did give me a ride. It was truly a long ride, we shared some stories… not too personal but it made me laugh on our way, he left me off until the border of the Moniyan Place.
I have never really talked to a stranger this close… but meeting him was good enough.
"It was nice meeting you," I said and handed out my hand.
He looked unsure if he would give me a hand shake but he did; but the moment our hands touched I felt electricity flew inside my body, and my eyes glowed. I was quick, and I'm sure he didn't notice it.
I just smiled, "I hope to see you in one of my dreams, Mr. Stranger." I said and looked directly in his pair of dark blue-green eyes, and I made sure I won't forget those kind of eyes.
'Never did I knew, that those eyes would have a greater meaning more than a stranger like him.'
