Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Awakening
"Everything went dark again, was that light just really an illusion as I feared? Am I really back from the darkness? But why does it feels different than before?" I asked myself as I doubted whether Anu is real or not.
Then suddenly amidst the darkness... A bright flash of light appeared in front of me and it sucked me in when I regained my vision amidst the darkness. I was launched at a terrifying speed, inside the light there was darkness, it was like a tunnel so there was another light at the end of it. It had multiple colors, which I can mostly identify as purple, blue, and green. The light grew bigger as I reach the end of the tunnel.
When I finally reached the end, there was a bright flash before I fell from the exit, I dropped to the ground with both of my knees planted on the ground. I was looking at my hands towards my body and it seems I don't have a physical form, I am but an entity made of spectral light with the shape of a human.
I looked around and there was a massive skeleton of a creature bridging toward a great structure in front of me. The structure was so massive, it was bigger than the skeleton bridge, and I can hear people singing and playing drums from the great structure, it was echoing around the skies. I can hear them keep repeating: "do-va-kin". I'm not sure if I got the word correctly but that word might be the main topic of that song.
I continued to look around, then I saw the sky was filled with purple clouds circling the light in the center up above, I can see moving rays of green light. No, blue, or purple? Then I realized the colors were changing into different colors from time to time. At some distance, I can see clouds in a form of humans, there were 18 to be exact. Each one had different colors and different forms, but all the same: humans.
I was amazed yet not surprised, happy but sad, and scared yet unafraid of everything. My emotions were mixed, I don't feel whole, maybe because of my broken soul. As I was trying to express my confused emotions I noticed a man sitting in front of me, He was staring at me with squinted eyes of suspicion.
The man was fully packed with muscles, he had tattoos that had writings I don't understand. He had a weapon holstered on his back which I cannot identify what type since it's hidden from my point of view. His trousers seem to be of leather made out of a creature I cannot identify. Everything is unknown to me so I must observe and not take action rashly.
"What brings you, wayfarer grim, to wander here, in Sovngarde, souls-end, Shor's gift to honored dead?" He asked me as if I was a trespasser on sacred ground, his voice was so deep and it felt like I was talking to a mountain against me who is an ant. But for some reason, I can understand his language, but I didn't understand the meaning of his questions.
I tried to understand his questions yet I tried to reply "I don't know what you mean, you are the first human I saw after arriving here."
After hearing my reply he stands tall on his feet and showed his impressive height. And I was indeed looking above at a peak of a mountain, he unsheathed his weapon from his holster, and it was a great axe. "You who do not believe in Shor's tales of Sovngarde, dwell upon. Living or dead, by decree of Shor, none may pass this perilous bridge 'till I judge them worthy by the warrior's test. Grab a weapon and I shall judge thee"
"What? Wait, I never wished to enter the bridge -" And before I could say anything, 3 weapons showed up in front of me out of thin air. There was an axe, a sword, and a bow. I tried to pick the weapons one by one, but I can't touch them, my hands went through each weapon. I panicked, as he was about to slash his great axe at me, so I froze. "Huuughhpp!" He tried to slash me with all his might. And his axe went through my body, he was surprised as I am.
Then he spoke, "The land of the dead is not meant for mortals to linger. You dwell not among the living nor the dead, what are you? A soul which was already born, yet still unborn wandering on the planes of Aetherius."
"I'm confused, I don't know what is going on either." I replied.
He sheathed his axe. "I must tell Shor of this. But the old man is busy, so I will do this myself. Your unknown existence is dangerous yet harmless, so we will deal with you later. For now, I will decide your fate whether it be dead or living." his archaic words turned into a common tongue that I can now understand better than before.
"With this power from Shor, I must cast you to Nirn, and there you must be reborn as a mortal. I do not know your fate since you do not exist among the living and dead."
"Wait, I still have so many questions! Someone told me to look for their gra-"(granddaughter), and before I can finish.
He gathered his breath within his chest and then shouted at me with all his might, a deafening shout with a language similar to the songs from the great structure, and similar to the language Anu used when I first met him.
"Nahl...Daal...Vus!!!" My ears were ringing, and my vision became fuzzy
After that mighty shout, I felt a similar feeling. The feeling when I was cast by Anu into a portal of light. The dizziness, the confusion, and the fear of the unknown. Then the world goes dark... again...
...
"I don't feel my limbs, I don't feel anything physically, I can't speak out loud. It's like my mind is just here without a body."
While I was speaking in my mind, a flash of blinding light appeared in my eyes. I can hear voices: "Wel....me to" "t...e world..." "youn..." "lor..." They seem to be the voices of an old lady
Then the flash of light was gone, and the world turns dark again. A few moments later I can feel my mouth and I can move it. After gaining back my senses from my mouth it felt like I wanted to shout with all my might just to escape the darkness, then I shouted.
"Ungaaaaa!!!" I can hear a baby crying the moment I tried to shout with everything I can. So I tried again even louder. "Ungaaaaaaaaaa!!!" Then I realized I was a baby just born into existence.
A few minutes later, I calmed down after this realization and then I heard voices again, "Is it a boy? Then we shall call him Havi." It was a voice from a man.
Old lady: "Yes my lord, born today at 12 AM on Sundas, 1st of Morning Star, 4th Era, in the year 301."
Man: "Rayya, do you really have to state the whole time, date, and year? And era?"
Rayya: "Apologies my lord, I am just complying with the request you made before as you said you always tend to forget the time and date."
Woman: "Hahaha! Is that so my dear?" Another woman spoke, and the sound was very close to me, so she seems to be my mother. And the man he called 'dear' is my father.
Rayya: "Yes my lady, that is what the lord requested."
Father: "Alright, I admit, I always tend to forget time."
Mother: "It's alright dear, remember I also asked for the exact date, year, and era of the day you found me."
Father: "Well at least that was just once in a lifetime, unlike me, I always tend to forget. Hehehe."
Mother: "Of course you would, for an adventurous man like you, it is expected for you to forget such things from time to time."
Rayya: "Sorry to interrupt my Lord, my Lady, but you have a visitor, they asked me not to tell you. They are a dear friend whom you trust so I also trust them with the request to meet you."
Father: "Alright Rayya, thanks."
I heard a smooch sound, which must be father kissing mother, and then left the room. My father's footsteps muffled as they left the room until I can no longer hear them.
"If you need anything, my Lady, please let me know, through magic, or just call me I will be here in an instant, I will leave you with the young lord as I tend with the Lord's visitor." Rayya said politely to mother.
"You may go Rayya" Rayya then left after Mother gave her permission. But the thing is I couldn't hear Rayya leave the room, maybe because she was lighter than father?
"Hummm, my dear little Havi, you look like your father. Your eyes, are different apart from each other, my beautiful baby." Mother was humming to me in a gentle voice. Then she murmured a familiar language.
"Rii... Uth... Zaam..." *smooch* then I heard her kiss me. My senses all came back in an instant, except my senses were somewhere else as if I were someone else's body.
Then I suddenly felt a sharp pain from everywhere and every part of my body and so I screamed from the pain. "Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" "Raaagghh!!"

I apologize for the long update. I got contracted with Covid the day after I posted the very first chapter. I had to rest for almost a week.
I originally plan to work and post chapters daily, but now I need more rest so I plan on working and posting updates every Monday and Friday. Today's an exception, I'll post this chapter today (Thursday) in exchange for tomorrow (Friday).
