Chapter 12: Taking the Examination (2)
Sun sat down while Daniel prepared the test paper for him.
"Do you have any questions?", he asked.
Sun shook his head and took the pen.
After a quick scan, Sun found it quite easy. Since he already memorized all the basics in the books Minerva gave him during the lessons, he could even recall the book page where the theory was written down. The memory enhancement was only activated during his lessons or if he needed to memorized cultivation techniques. If Sun let it run for 24/7, the information he would receive from the enhancement would blow up his head.
At the same time, Daniel sat down on his chair and started to recalibrate the instruments for the Soul Magic rating.
The instruments were very fragile so he tended to do it with care.
Sun recalled everything in his mind and wrote down the answers like a machine. Sun felt like a Search Machine at this moment.
There was a test question, he 'searched' through the answers inside his brain and wrote it down.
Shortly, after 30 minutes, Sun finished his test and re-checked it already 5 times.
"I'm finished!", Sun said and looked to Daniel.
Meanwhile, Daniel, who was still recalibrating, was startled by the sudden sound and one of the precious instruments fell down and cracked.
"God, what do you mean you're done? The test was designed for 2 hours, how could you be 'done'?", he saw the cracked thing beside his feet and felt anger.
"Why can't I be done? Please come and check my answers, Sir!", Sun said in an innocent voice.
"Give it to me! If you don't get 100% right, I'll make you pay for the instrument!", he said in an angered voice.
He felt his time being wasted since the instrument he recalibrated was now broken and could not be used anymore.
Daniel took a red marker and was prepared for the bad scores this boy will get, but the longer he checked, the stranger his facial expression got.
*ping*
His marker fell down and sounded metallic.
"How?! You got everything ri ..right ...", he was stuttering.
Now his look changed from anger to respectfulness.
"This boy must be a genius! A genius! Aseid hasn't got a genius like him for over 1000 years!", Daniel Weiss thought and was astonished by the boy.
In fact, Sun did the test in 10 minutes, the 5 times checking took him 20 minutes.
If Daniel had known this, he would have had a heart attack.
"Wait here, I will report this to the head inspector and get the instruments ready for the rating!", Daniel said and rushed out the door.
A moment later, he came back with the rating instrument and a small girl.
"Head inspector, this is the genius I told you. He scored 100% right in less than 40 minutes.", Daniel said.
Although he tried to conceal his excitement on his face, his voice disclosed himself.
"Hmpf, being a book worm doesn't mean he is great with his combat abilities!", the little girl snorted at Sun.
"Get the test ready Daniel!", she added and said down on Daniel's chair.
Daniel walked to the center of the room and placed the instrument down.
It was a spiritual orb that can sense one's magic power. The stronger the output is, the stronger it will glow.
The rating was based on the intensity of the color.
"Boy, go and place your hand on the orb!", the girl said in a bossy tone.
Sun obliged and walked toward the orb. Although he was annoyed by the little girl's behavior, he didn't want to offend her. In his mind, she was just another brat. He couldn't care less about her ranking.
Sun put his hand on the orb.
...
Suddenly, his Soul Power got activated by some unknown force.
The dark aura surrounded him once again and black wings grew on his back.
A glow of black power appeared inside the orb.
*boom*
The orb cracked a bit and a female voice sounded inside the room.
"Power level: *Immeasurable*

"WHAT?", Daniel and the girl both looked with astonished faces.
The spirit orb was an advanced treasure and could even determine the power of Demon Lords in the Demon Realm without breaking, but the moment Sun touched it, it BROKE.
"Who are you?", the girl asked Sun. Her voice changed and sounded somehow cute.
"Me? I'm Sun Reed. A half Chinese half American human."
"Hahahaha", the girl started to laugh.
"Oh right. I got it .. hahaha
I'm Rea de Camille. You can call me Rea. I'm the head inspector of Aseid and Awakened Rank.", she said.
"Awakened?", Sun looked at the girl again and estimated her age between 10 and 13 years old.
Rea seemed to know what Sun was thinking.
"I look young, because of my Soul Origin Artemis.", she explained.
Sun was astonished, that her Soul Origin was one of the twelve Greek gods.
"May I ask for your age?", Sun was now curious.
"Ahem, didn't your mom teach you that it's rude to ask about the age of a lady?", she frowned slightly.
"This year, I will be 20", she said.
"Huh?", Sun thought. He expected something like 90 years, so he was a bit surprised.
Rea realized Sun's surprise and covered her smile on the face with her hands.
"You are indeed special. I'm going to get you into my school Sun.", she said and walked out of the room.
...
"Uhm, will I receive a letter of notice or something like that?", Sun turned to Daniel and asked.
Daniel, who was frozen by the sudden change of event now got back to reality and turned to Sun.
"Yeah, wait here for a moment. The head inspector will get you the papers"
"Don't worry about the broken instrument! Even though it's a treasure, the inspector council can provide thousands of those.", Daniel said.
"I need to attend other matters now. Good luck with your studies.", Daniel said and walked off.
"Thank you, Sir", Sun said and bowed lightly.
Sun was now alone inside the room. He sat down and started to cultivate.
Since this room was an exam room, it was mostly empty. He figured this was the best action at the moment.
Half an hour later, Rea came through the door with a smile.
"Suuuun! I got you into Esperia Magic School. I'm a teacher at the school so it was an easy thing for me.
(Though, they would have taken you even without my recommendation.)"
"Esperia Magic School? It's the best magic school in the mortal world!", Sun was inwardly excited.
