Chapter 26: Attachment and Boundaries

When Rei found out that he like Haruo in a romantic way, Rei tried everything to forget about him. And by everything, he meant 'everything'. From drinking, flirting with other guys, and even sleeping with them whenever he is bored or wants to forget about everything. Let's not talk about how other guys preferred non-consensual things back then considering what type of group he was surrounded with. If there is sex and if he will feel good, then he will take it. Even if it's not always the case.

That's the reason why the 'whore' image he had when he was in High school followed him until he went to University. He got used to it because the rumors about him are somewhat true. He is not denying or confirming it either because his best friends, Shiori and Yasuko already knew about it in the first place. Except for Yuu, of course. And all of it got worse when he got tired of following Haruo which is bound to happen at one point in this type of relationship.

Even though he was never serious in his physical relationships and in order to avoid conflict, he made sure to build boundaries with all of the guys he slept with. What conflict? To avoid encountering someone like him, Souta.

"S-Souta?" Rei blinked, "What are you doing here?"

"You're not answering any of my texts. What do you want me to do?" Souta snapped, grabbing his arm and pulling him even closer with his arms wrapping around his waist. "Can't we at least talk?"

Rei sighed, looking in the other direction. "What do you want to talk about? We're done already."

"But I missed you..." Souta whispered near his ear, inhaling his scent.

Rei huffed, rolling his eyes. "Ha! So much that you resorted to stalking me?"

"I do stalk you," Souta deeply chuckled, "And I know it's not normal."

"You're even proud of it? You are sick." Rei hissed, looking straight at the green-haired guy and glaring at him.

"Come on." Souta flashed a cheeky grin, "I know you are still having fun with your professor."

Rei's eyes widened as he gapes in shock, "Wait. How do you know about him?"

"I have my ways, Rei-chan." Souta shrugged, smirking which is starting to irritate the red-haired Omega. Tsk. Is this his karma for being a bitch before?

"Look, I'm not up for playing whatever sick twisted games you want to play." Rei sighed, massaging one of his temples when he felt a headache coming up. "But that guy? I love him."

Souta stared at him, eyes turning blank as he tries to fake a smile, huffing. "And what am I? Your rebound?"

"I made everything clear from the start, Sou. I don't want any attachment between us." Rei loudly sighed, standing straight. "All of the things we did? They are all physical. And you agreed before we started that relationship, remember? So what the hell are you doing right now?"

"Rei, listen to me." Souta shook his head before cupping the red-haired face, causing the latter to open his eyes, "I don't know what to do anymore. I can't help it, I keep thinking about you. I want to see you like before, talk to you, touch you. I'm helpless."

Rei closed his eyes, groaning as he tilt his head to the side. "Souta..."

"I want to hug you here, on your slender hips..." His hands which are wrapped around Rei's waist went to grab his wrist as he continued talking, "Your frail hands grabbing onto my shoulder..." Putting his hand to his neck and slowly moving it down towards his shoulder blades, "Your beautiful neck, full with hickeys after a looong night..." Before going to his chin, tilting it up and rubbing the Omega's lips with his thumb as he stares at it deeply. "Your plump lips wide open as you moan and gasp for me..."

Rei nervously gulped at the intensity of Souta's gaze on his lips before sighing, "Souta, you should stop this."

"Rei," Souta muttered, his gaze returning to Rei's sky-blue ones. "You know that you can come back to me when you're tired of him just like you did before."

"Please stop this, Souta." Rei placed his hands on his shoulder, gently pushing him away, "I'm sorry but, we're done. If you don't stop stalking, texting me, everything else, I'm calling the cops."

"Rei..." Souta softly called but Rei shook his head.

"I'm sorry, Souta."

Rei turned around and start walking away from the green-haired Alpha. He felt himself, sighing and releasing a huge breath of relief which he didn't know he was holding. That is for the best. Maybe he just needed closure because he can't accept the fact that they have 'broke' up? If that is considered as breaking up. As he walk away from Souta, he turned his head around to take one last glance at him and found him still standing where he left him. His eyes were blank and his expression was blank that the red-haired can't read what he was thinking. But he does hope that Souta would already accept that they are done and he should move on.

"I'm sorry..." Rei muttered to himself, biting onto his lower lip but before he could turn his head around to look at where he was going, he bumped into someone's back.

The man in front of him groaned, "Hey! Look where you are going."

"I'm sorry!" He immediately bowed a little before tilting his head up, noticing a huge crowd watching something in the middle. "What is happening?"

He tiptoed to look at what they are watching but ended up disappointed when he failed. Groaning, he then tried to squeeze himself in between the crowd. The space for him became narrower near the middle, he can hear the people around him also groaning and cursing as he excuse and tried to force his way in. All kinds of scents such as sweat-covered pheromones and pure pheromones from either Alphas, Omegas, and Betas surrounds him that he instantly felt dizzy. Ugh. Too many pheromones are enough to make him vomit right then and there.

"Ouch. Hey!"

"What the fuck?!"

"Stop pushing!"

The voices of the people who continued to complain around him stopped when he finally reached the middle. There, he saw a pink-haired woman in a white dress pointing and shouting at someone. He tried to understand the context of their argument but the way the girl is shouting and looking so angry he thought, 'Ahh. So it's just a lovers quarrel? Maybe she found the guy cheating so she decided to confront him here.' Rei nodded to himself as he comes up with different scenarios inside his head. Poor girl... They are in the same situation so he can understand how much of a shock it is when you find your partner cheating on you.

"Can you just calm down so we can talk about this?" The guy, Rei assumed was her boyfriend, loudly sighed and sounded so disappointed.

And from the tone of his voice, he knew that the guy was not sorry at all which made him pissed. So he thinks he can do that? That it's acceptable? Is he so handsome that he thought he can play with her when he wants? Damn him. He sounds like a bastard and acts like one! He turned his head to look at the guy, scowling and ready to shout at him like other people who are watching them but instead was shocked when he saw who it was.

"Dai?! What the fuck?!"
