From the shadowed doorway a human female and a male Quadman appeared, the Quadman carried four trays of food and drinks to the table. "Irena, Gern it's about time we were getting thirsty plus I missed your sexy butt." The one that said that was a large bald man with skin the color of coal.
"Oh shut up Monty," Irena flirted with Monty, Irena was tall and lean she had a dancer's body. She was curved in all the right places, but not so much that it took away from her graceful movements. She had medium length black hair that framed her face small round face like a helmet. She had chocolate colored eyes, her skin was the color of bronze. "Oh, and Gern put the food on the side table." She pointed to a table to Monty's right.
"Let's get this game going again, I hate fetching the food and drinks. I am not so damn slave for you all to order around." Gern grumbled as he set the food and drinks down. Gern moves to his seat across from Monty, he is a Quadman which are humanoid the only difference is that they have four eyes and arms. Gern had slate grey skin, along the angular face with four vertical slits for eyes that glowed purple. It had a small hooked nose set over a wide mouth with razor-thin lips, that barely hid its sharper than human teeth. His upper arms were muscled and strong while his two lower arms were smaller and leaner, each hand had only four fingers. He had long strong legs that ended on its feet, which had no shoes on it because it had only two toes in the foot with one on the heel. Each toe could produce a talon from each toe, he stood about six foot five.
The other two humans were of a very average look and build, the seemed to be nothing to special. As for the Goblin, he was just another jungle goblin, I turn to Ariana and asked: "So what now?" I watch as Monty stretched out his hand to a black stone container and grabbed something out of it, he threw down a handful of gold and silver coins. "Oh for the love of Ayann, I forgot to completely seal it. Wait a sec here are they playing some kind of card game for my stuff!"
"Well this is not good, there are just too many of them to fight easily. Irena, Gern, and Monty are the real threats, the other two humans don't fight well and that goblin is without its pack so no worry there."
"Can we do this without killing the humans, I hate killing humans. I asked as she ready her dagger and I my spear. "Though you could do with more weapons and I could use something to cover my arm, and I think I might need another weapon. In a real fight against trained opponents, this spear will get me killed, which I would rather avoid if I can."
"I doubt they will be so easy to subdue without killing them. They are too strong of fighters, I have had to fight them myself in the pit." She rubs her shoulder where these people must have wounded before her. I motion towards a door to our right, as I looked at it I felt this odd shifting in my eyes it had runes seemingly carved into the stone around the door but the runes seemed odd. As if they were, shining and floating not just part of the stone it's self I was pretty sure that they were the runes for lockdown. Looking at the door more closely I could tell where and how to manipulate the stone to the right of the handle, which would allow me to open the door. Ariana saw what I was motioning towards and nods.
We creep around the corner once around the corner, we quickly shift to the outside wall until we got to the door. Looking to the right where there was a stone, that seemed a bit different from the other stones around it. I see that there seems to be a pattern that needed to be keyed into the stone so the door will unlock and not sound an alarm. I could see the spots that had been touched and the magic in each key, it was not just coded it was a different kind of light in each key, and this new sight almost overwhelmed me. If it had not been for Ariana I might just have set there for a while trying to adjust to this new sight. Instead, I reached and keyed in the sequence that seemed to be right for what I saw.
I reached out and opened the door, as the door swung open I saw two goblins on the other side. I shifted the grip on my spear and stabbed the first in the throat leaving my arm up and spear in its throat until it died. Ariana darted forward to catch the other goblin as it was just getting ready to yell, she rolled into the goblin knocking it over. As it fell under her, she covered its mouth with her hand and slit its throat. I glance up and watch as she gently laid down her goblin, I nod to the goblin that was still on the end of my spear. My shoulder had started to hurt badly with the strain of the last two fights.
She slid the goblin off the end of my spear and I watched as she laid it on the ground tossing her hair over her shoulder as she stood up and looked around. She looked a bit shocked at what she found. That's when I finally got a look around the room, I was almost blinded by all the magic. My eyes watered as I blinked them rapidly to clear them, and my vision returned to normal. Which was almost as much of a shock as being blinded by the room, what I see confirms what I had thought about it being an armory of some kind. Turns out it is a Caster's or a Magician armory, potions, tomes, and vials. Where scattered all over the room, it seemed to be a mess and yet organized by some standard.
