Chapter 1: My wife

" Finally!" I exclaimed with enthusiasm, my deep voice echoing through the room.

I held the plaque in the golden sunlight streaming through the windows, admiring the glowing embellishments that formed the impression of "SS."

"Congratulations, adventurer!" smiled the thin, friendly man behind the counter, "You've finally reached the highest rank! And at only 19 years old! But please, lower your voice..." he trembled.

"Oh, sorry!" I leaned towards him and hugged the guild master, whom I had known for 9 years, warmly. "Thank you for your support!"

Uncomfortably, I continued, "But you know... Now that I've fulfilled my promise, I'll probably be leaving soon!"

"I had a feeling!" he smiled, "And don't worry, no one in the village will be upset, and neither will we."

"That's a relief."

"Haha!" he laughed, "After defeating dragons, cyclops, and other monsters, we can finally sleep peacefully again! Thanks to you."

"Oh, don't exaggerate," I smiled shyly.

"I'm not exaggerating; this village is not called the 'Village of Death' for nothing. If you hadn't come, the village would never have recovered. As the mayor, I thank you because now the streets are no longer haunted by silence. By the way, could you please lower me down slowly."

"Oh yes, sorry!" I said and placed him back behind the counter.

I chatted with the guild master and the mayor of this small village for a while before leaving the guild in the afternoon.

I strolled along the small paths winding between the houses, reflecting on the past 19 years I had spent in this world.

I couldn't help but laugh at how typical it was.

I had a terrible life in my first existence. Marked by poverty, with drug-addicted parents, abuse, bullying, and so on. I mustered the courage to run away from home at the age of 15.

I lived on the streets for a few years until someone took me off the streets and showed me kindness. An old man. He had many issues with me but showed a lot of patience.

He sent me to various martial arts to control my aggressions, to therapist and sent me back to school.

Being messed up by my real parents, I was not a good person, but after the old man passed away, I vowed to be better. I tried repeatedly, sometimes succeeding more often than not.

After finding my wife in this world, who had a calming effect on me, I succeeded.

I had completed training in my previous life and had a secure job as a road builder.

Then, after work, I was hit by a truck because I was careless and built one during crossing the road.

I just licked the paper a little and the green tickled my nose, when I was run over.

Whether due to substances or adrenaline, I felt no pain and slowly sank into death at the age of 32.

I felt a sense of injustice; just as I was getting my life somewhat under control and slowly leaving the traumas behind, I was dying!

Then I was awakened by voices saying something like this: "He has no system, he is unworthy as a successor! Banish him to the forest behind the Village of Death! He is no longer my son!"

Still plagued by a bit of injustice from my previous life, I vowed to create a just land and become strong enough to defend it! I know a bit random, but I vowed to do it.

So, I ended up here, but what puzzled me is that I couldn't remember my name.

Oh well nevermind, I had a sense of mana in my body from the beginning. Because of boredom I circulated it.

Therefore, surprisingly, after a week, I could already walk and had been training crazyly ever since to get over some addiction and bad feelings..

As the name of the village might suggest, there are many monsters here.

With my self-developed martial art, I lived in the forest and mountain range, somewhat away from the village, for ten years.

"That was an exciting time!" I laughed.

For the past nine years, I had been living in the village, which was getting smaller due to the ongoing danger. Additionally, a few evil cultists used it as a base, whom I killed without hesitation. I wasn't my first time…, but this is a story of another life.

After that, I was accepted as a hero in the village and became an adventurer.

I was the only one of my kind in the village, so I could complete all the possible quests. The surrounding areas were gradually becoming safer, and new people were slowly arriving in the village.

After nine years, I finally reached the highest level as an adventurer.

"Oh, I'm already here!" I murmured with a smile as I stood in front of the large wooden door, "My own home!"

I looked forward to coming home every evening, where my wife awaited.

I entered and called out, "Hello!"

"Hello!" greeted me a enchantingly sweet and mature voice.

I took off my shoes and stepped into the kitchen.

"I'm back!" I greeted her.

"Just in time!" she said joyfully without turning around.

"Oh, what delicious thing do we have today?" I asked.

"We have..." she began, turning to face me. "No! Not like this!"

"What then?" I asked surprised.

"Put on something clean and wash your hands first! You can't come into the house like this!" she exclaimed.

I looked down at myself and saw a few blood splatters.

"And?"

"And what?"

"And what are you going to do about it?" I smiled provocatively.

She started chasing me through the house with a wooden spoon. Her long, jet-black hair fluttered behind her brilliantly.

I couldn't suppress my laughter, and neither could she, but her crystal-blue eyes seemed undeterred.

After a while, we stopped in the garden and watched the sunset together.

"Come here, Mia!" I smiled and opened my arms.

She smiled and, before falling into my arms, said, "~Clean~!"

After that, I was shining again.

"Why do I deserve you!" I smiled.

"Hmm," she pondered seriously, "maybe because you're 220cm tall, the strongest and most handsome man I know. And also friendly and funny. Most of the time, at least."

She mumbled into my chest, and I gave her a kiss on the head.

"Shall we eat soon?"

She startled and said, quite shocked, "Right!"

Then she took my hand with her small hand and quickly walked into the kitchen.

"Sit down!" she ordered, and I did so immediately.

I watched as Mia whirled through the kitchen.

In my eyes, unfortunately also in many others', she was the most beautiful woman ever.

She was 190cm tall, well above average for this world.

She was relatively strong, but nowhere near as strong as I was, and had perfect proportions. Not too small, not too big. Perfect form, and it almost fit perfectly in my large hand.

Well, it might have been a bit larger than one might imagine, but it didn't look wrong on her size.

She was a year younger than me, and we had been married for about six months.

My gaze wandered to her beautiful rear, and as she placed the plates and pots on the table, she just said, "Now we'll have something real to eat!"

I smiled and said, "Fortunately, I have two stomachs!"

"Haha!" Mia laughed, "That's a severe understatement for your appetite! Can I remind you of our wedding night!" A bit offended, embarrassed, and with longing, Mia said these words.

"I will never forget it!" I closed my eyes and thought of the night or nights, "Didn't you 'enjoy' it too?"

She blushed slightly but said firmly, "Of course! But now, enjoy your meal!"

I ate my fill of dragon meat; we had so much that it felt like it would last for eternity.

While eating, I asked, "How was your day?"

"Right! I wanted to tell you about it! I finally reached Level 10!"

"Wow! Congratulations!" I congratulated, "And? Have you unlocked it already?"

"No... I wanted to do it with you!" Mia said shyly.

I smiled, "Why so shy? My sweet Mia!"

I stood up to hug her and gave her a heartfelt kiss.

"That's exactly why!" she squirmed, "Let me down so I can finally do it!"

I put her down and moved my chair next to hers.

"System Status!" Mia said aloud, and a blue screen appeared.

Since she had said it out loud, I could also see her status.

Even though I didn't have one myself, I was no longer jealous because, as it turned out, one could be strong even without it. I just found it annoying that I couldn't objectively see my strength and personal data.

Many inhabitants of this world do not know that strength does not come from the type of system or having more talent. That's why I was banished.

As in different fantasy stories, the type of system is an emblem of strength.

Although one is just indirectly strengthened by the system and its skills. Because the basic strength depends on oneself!

When leveling up, the mana storage increases, but not the physical abilities.

It is in the body but does not directly strengthen the body without activation.

However, mana is acting like a muscle, with consistent usage the storage capacity increases.

For this, there is a storage in the body: the mana stone, wich every creature has.

Strength must be built through training. Mana can help with this, but for an extended period, the body must be deliberately and actively flooded or strengthened with mana.

Skills, on the other hand, are mainly gained through the system. However, one can also create or acquire them with a lot of effort.

This is not easy, but it's also a reason for my strength.

Because I have no skills, I taught myself everything. The way to use mana and fight with mana. The only thing I couldn't do was everyday magic and advanced workings.

"Level 10 already! Congratulations!" I laughed.

"Don't laugh like that! Apart from you, that's already relatively strong," Mia said.

"I'm not laughing!" I smiled, "It's really not bad."

"I know you really mean it," Mia said shyly, "but I also know that you kill monsters with levels approximately 100 or even higher!... I really want to know what level you would be."

To divert from the topic, I replied, "You're just a healer, and for one, you're relatively strong! And now, finally, open your skill tree!"
