Chapter 24: [Bonus chapter] Mama, I Will End This Cruel War One Day

"MAMA!"

Samiel's voice rang out, filled with a mixture of excitement and delight.

"!"

"..." The whole area was blanketed in silence.

Everyone looked at the baby with surprised expressions.

"D-did you speak, my baby?" Lady Nazia asked with disbelief.

"Say it again, child." Lady Helene beamed with a smile.

"..." However Samiel looked at all of them silent smile.

After ten seconds, as everyone was about to think it was just an illusion, the same melodic voice was heard by them once more.

"Mama," Samiel repeated, his voice filled with love and a deep sense of connection. It was a word that held immense meaning, a word that symbolized the bond between a mother and her child. As the word left his lips, it carried with it a sense of magic, as if the very essence of love and joy had taken form in his voice.

Nazia's eyes widened, her heart skipping a beat as she heard her baby speak his first word. Tears of joy welled up in her eyes, and a radiant smile spread across her face. She held Samiel even closer, savoring the precious moment.

The courtyard fell into stunned silence as if time itself had paused to witness this magical milestone. Somir's mouth hung open in astonishment, his eyes shining with wonder. Lady Helene and the rest of the family exchanged amazed glances, their hearts overflowing with love and pride.

Samiel's voice, soft and sweet, carried a sense of innocence and purity that touched the depths of their souls. The sound of his voice seemed to dance in the air, filling the space with a melody that resonated with the hearts of all who heard it.

"My baby said 'Mama'..." (Nazia)

"Samiel can speak easily now!" (Somir)

"My children..." (Helene)

"Young Master is so cute-!!" (Hazel)

"Neigh!" (Albert)

In the next moment, the courtyard was filled with a chorus of emotions. Cheers and applause erupted, mingling with the soft sound of falling snowflakes. Tears of happiness streamed down Nazia's face as she held Samiel tightly, whispering words of love and pride.

"Let's go in." The Head Maid was the first one to offer.

"Right!" Lady Helene agreed and then commanded. "Prepare the best dishes! We are having a big party!"

"Yay! We are having a party!" Somir shouted in happiness.

Lady Nazia didn't say anything as she was too engrossed in the moment.

After a while, they finally entered inside. As they entered the warmth of their home, the snowflakes continued to fall outside, creating a magical ambiance that mirrored the enchantment within their hearts.

From that day forward, Samiel's first word became a cherished memory, a symbol of their unbreakable bond as a family. They knew that no matter what challenges they faced, their love and support for one another would always prevail.

Tomorrow.

"You fool! Why did you come back so late?! Take this!"

"No, Mother! Wait! Let me explain!"

"No, there is no need for an explanation!"

"Mom! You are scaring the baby!"

"No, you're. Because you came so late, he isn't even talking anymore!"

"..."

I am kind of speechless at this situation that is playing right in front of my eyes.

Grandma is finally 'teaching' Mother to leave me, a newborn child, alone. The other reason for her 'anger' was Mother was much later than she promised to Grandma. But Mother was trying to explain everything.

Although, I understand their reasons they still left me speechless.

Yesterday Mother and Grandma were acting so lovey-dovey with each other. But now they are acting like little children right now. They are fighting more like a cat and dog.

Ah, speaking of tomorrow, I was surprised by myself as well. I had never imagined I would be able to speak in four months. And speech also seems more fluent than an ordinary baby. Although I can't speak full sentences yet my words are still understandable.

After that event, everyone was so happy, including me of course. Grandma and the Head Maid organized a large party. They even donated a lot of supplies to everyone in the castle and the city.

The party was awesome as well. But since I'm a baby, I couldn't enjoy it.

What frustrated me even more was they locked me up in my room as soon as the party started! Why?!

Didn't the party be organized because of me?

Why did they get to have the all fun?!

Hmph! So I decided not to speak to them for a whole month. No three months!

Yeah! I won't speak for three months!

Well, thankfully, after spending a little time at the party Mother came back to the room. Then we had a mother and son time!

Ah... She talked about her tales during her leave more precisely. She must have thought I couldn't understand her. But sorry Mom! Your son understood everything you said!

And from her words, I get the gist of the situation on her side.

When she first arrived at the battlefield everything was rather ok. Although there were injured awakeners, they didn't require that much help. And they were sure the demons wouldn't seriously attack them.

She also could have returned after the first month, but they were attacked by surprise. The demons took advantage of them when they lowered their guard down.

A simple yet effective tactic I must say. But I think the strategist and the leaders on our side were pretty stupid. They should have prepared a plan for an unexpected attack.

Well, I can't put all the blame on them since I wasn't there. Maybe they had one but it didn't work. Or worst of all, there was a traitor among them. Who knows?

Thankfully, they managed to come to tie with them after a two-month battle The demons retreated back to their domain.

She was a little late because the injured' numbers were too high and it took much longer time to heal them all.

She also mentioned how much she missed our family and home. She also apologized so many times that I lost count. Then she also... cried...

She said she was sorry for leaving me, us alone. She wanted to raise me and my brother with her own hands, just like grandma did her and her siblings. Well, she said a lot of sad and heart-wrenching things as well.

Then she finally fell asleep.

Thankfully.

She must have been tired and stressed a lot...

Don't worry... I will put an end to this cruel thing called war one day...

I promise...

..

.

"Mama!" | "Grandma!"

Oh, no!

I decided not to speak to them! Ah, scratch that! I am tired of being unable to speak anyway!
