Chapter 55: Visiting Grandpa Gohan
Kalan felt exhausted from the constant training and also because he was worried about Broly. He quickly teleported to Planet Carefree.
Kalan saw everything moving smoothly and did not put his nose in managing his planet. He went and had a serious talk with Bardock and his family to make sure they would not let Broly try to transform into a Super Saiyan any time soon.
Kalan also made a trip to the underground town to visit Igara. Luckily they had calmed down after 'interrogating' Bardock regarding their time travels. He had forgotten to get the A.I Chip and had the system first absorb it. Then he asked for the machines he wanted to use on Earth. The Ingeniumians started making several energy scanning machines that could scan 10,000 km far. Kalan was planning to put a few on his dojo so everyone would have a better understanding of how strong people were.
Kalan did not want the people to look down on him just because he's still a kid.
The Ingeniumians had also made a portable mini training room with all the daily necessities. Kalan no longer needed a spaceship to travel so he had asked them to make a portable training room 10 x 10 m dimensions. And also have the capsule function so he could easily carry it around. It was pretty easy for the Ingeniumians to make it. The gravity was adjustable to 850x Earth's. Unfortunately they could not increase the gravity as the materials needed to make sturdier training room were very rare. Kalan did not want a small training room of 4-5 meter's long.
After saying goodbye to his people on Planet Carefree, he pushed the button and made the training room into a capsule and tossed it into his storage space. Although his storage space had 1,000 cubic meters volume. It was just a 10 x 10 x 10 m dimensions. The training room would not fit at all.
Kalan teleported to Earth, he had been training gruelingly. Especially his mind was really exhausted from trying to control his berserk state in his Legendary Super Saiyan state. He decided to have a small vacation and relax on Earth.
"Right, I wonder if Grandpa Gohan is still alive?" Kalan suddenly remembered and decided to play him a visit. Since he was relaxing he decided to ride on his cloud instead of teleporting.
Kalan slowly flew to Mount Paozu and found Grandpa Gohan's house.
*Knock Knock* Kalan lightly knocked on the door.
*Creak* The door opened and a little boy with a monkey tail wearing a purple gi popped out.
"Hello, who are you looking for?" The boy asked curiously. It was Goku, he was currently 9 years old.
"Eh, this is Goku. Well... Since Bardock and Gine is alive. I guess it would be quite sad if Goku would not acknowledge his own birth name. I'll see if he'll accept his Saiyan name if I tell it to him now..." Kalan thought. There was no reason for Goku not to accept his birth name now that Bardock and Gine were both alive. They would eventually meet up. Especially Gine would not be willing to throw away her son.
"Hey Kakarot! Long time no see!" Kalan smiled and said.
"I'm not Kakarot. My name is Goku. Son Goku!" Goku denied and introduced himself.
"Hahaha! Kakarot, you don't remember me anymore?" Kalan teased and ruffled Goku's hair.
"Uh." Goku tried to dodge Kalan's hand, but somehow Kalan's hand still landed on his head.
"You seem... Familiar?" Goku said with uncertainty. Goku had bonded with Kalan when he was just an infant, he felt the familiar hand ruffle his hair. But he could not remember where he had felt it.
*Tok* *Tok* *Tok* Slow knocking sounds of a wooden stick could be heard.
"Hohoho, that voice sounds familiar..." And elderly voice could be heard behind the doors.
"Grandpa! You're still hurt. Hurry and sit down." Goku hurriedly turned around and supported Grandpa Gohan who was walking toward the door with a crutch.
"Eh?" Kalan was surprised to see Grandpa Gohan's left leg plastered. He was holding a crutch in his left hand.
"There's a few more years until the official story begins... Was it due to these injuries that he could not escape from Goku's great ape transformation and got... stepped to death...?" Kalan wondered in his mind.
"Grandpa, long time no see!" Kalan politely greeted.
"You're hurt, let me help you." Kalan said and walked to Grandpa Gohan and put his hand on him.
*Buririri* Kalan healed Grandpa Gohan's leg.
"Amazing! Little angel, thank you for healing my leg." Grandpa Gohan thanked as he looked at his healed left leg in amazement. He quickly ripped of the plaster wrapping around his leg and had his left leg gently step on the floor a few times.
"Amazing! Thank you for healing grandpa!" Goku also thanked Kalan.
"Grandpa, did you not listen to my advise?" Kalan said with a wry smile and turned his gaze to Goku's tail.
"Sigh, I thought I was strong enough to handle it... But I was overconfident." Grandpa Gohan sighed and shook his head.
Goku looked confusedly at his tail and then noticed that Kalan also had a tail, it was wrapped around his waist so he did not notice it at first.
"Ah! You also have a tail! Grandpa was right! Boys have tails" Goku exclaimed and happily waved his tail.
"Hahaha! Only strong boys have tails." Kalan laughed and ruffled Goku's hair again.
"Goku will probably transform into a great ape at least once more during this 3 years period... And it seems Grandpa Gohan isn't willing to cut off Goku's tail as it seems cruel..." Kalan thought.
"Grandpa Gohan you should cover the windows during full moon. As for peeing... Here, take this pot. It's best not to go outside and pee during full moon." Kalan thought for a bit and materialized a pee pot.
"Thank you." Grandpa Gohan thanked and took the pee pot. He did not seem as surprised as when he had his leg healed. He probably thought it was normal for an 'angel' to create items from thin air.
"It was my fault... I went out to pee and then the accidentally looked at the full moon. And the giant ape monster appeared and hurt my grandpa..." Goku said guiltily. Grandpa Gohan had already told Goku that during full moon. If someone looked at the full moon, a giant ape monster would appear.
"Kakarot, remember to use the pee pot during full moon. You wouldn't want your grandpa to get hurt, would you?" Kalan said.
"Okay. But my name isn't Kakarot... I told you it's Son Goku!" Goku nodded, but still complained about his name.
"Hehehe, Kakarot is your birth name, I hope you'll remember your birth name." Kalan persuaded.
"Since little angel has said so, it should be true." Grandpa Gohan trusted Kalan as the prediction of meeting Goku happened on the exact same year as Kalan had told him. He also knew from his master, Master Roshi that Master Roshi's sister is a real fortune teller. So predicting the future was not impossible. Besides, both Goku and Kalan had a monkey tail. There had to be some connection between them.
"Huh, you're really an angel? No wonder you could heal my grandpa with just a 'poof'" Goku had heard his grandpa call Kalan 'little angel' several times now and seemed to really believe Kalan to be an angel. He even gestured how Kalan had simply touched his grandpa and 'poof' he was healed.
"Well... It's getting awkward... My name is Kalan. You can call me that instead of 'little angel', I'm not really an angel." Kalan said embarrassingly. He had only pretended to be an angel to gain Grandpa Gohan's trust, but now it seems more and more people will really think he's an angel if he continues his act...
Grandpa Gohan invited Kalan for some meatbuns he had made. Kalan spent some time chatting and eating in Grandpa Gohan's house before leaving.
