Chapter 13: A Stronger Art

Somewhere in a forest where the rhythmic chirping of birds along with the rustling of the leaves of trees caused by the pure fresh breeze which together could put just anyone in a trance, a figure was seated cross-legged while staring into the skies.

He had straight short black hair and golden eyes devoid of any emotions, seemingly entranced.

He had a body that seemed to be slightly malnourished, not good but not that bad either.

Overall he was quite handsome and was still yet to reach his true potential.

Instead of being seated in the grads of the forest, he was on the body of several stacked black wolves.

This 16-year-old was naturally Art.

It has been 2 weeks since his near-second embrace with death and he had gotten better in almost every aspect during this time.

This was obvious just by looking at his body which was no longer skinny and totally pale.

He brought his gaze down to the carcass of the beasts wondering how one of them almost claimed his life some days ago.

After using that magic, he watched as the timer to his death counted down, but just before it hit zero, a man who he couldn't clearly remember appeared beside him and stuffed a pill into his mouth which caused the timer to stop counting as another notification appeared which asked him whether he wanted to lock his mana core as he had gone beyond level 10 after killing that amount of beasts, which was a very annoying question.

Why on earth would he choose no?

After choosing yes he fell unconscious only to wake up four days later with Rachael sitting beside him, making him wonder if she had even moved from that spot.

He noticed some changes in his status which were very pleasing and after then till now, his activities have been in a continuous cycle.

Wake up, eat, complete daily quest and training, farm till dusk, retire to the mansion, eat, sleep.

Because of this he had grown much stronger, even his stats said it all.

It was after waking up did he realized that locking his mana core actually made him manaless, directly affecting his ability which also ended up locked.

So, he was now an isekied manaless boy.

From one problem to another.

The worst part was that his system didn't give him any information on how to unlock his mana core.

But there was one good piece of news.

He had received his weapon awakening which was for swords.

He couldn't describe the feeling but after holding the hilt of the sword, all his training from his former life seemed inferior as he felt like a hundred years old man who dedicated his entire life to honing his skills.

Of course without being affected by his age.

He kept this to himself for several reasons.

Just seeing him recovering at a fairly fast rate was too much for them to take in.

Even Racheal couldn't believe it, she kept asking how this was happening and how he felt but he also acted oblivious even seeming like the most surprised, which his guide of course praised him for.

Speaking of both of them, Racheal accompanied him here for the first three days which after, he told her not to come.

She was reluctant at first as she had become more clingy after the incident but she gave up in the end.

His guide on the other hand had barely spoken in the past few days.

According to the explanation she gave, he had to get stronger in order to talk more often with her.

He wondered if that was the truth or intended to be some sort of motivation, if then, it was slightly working...…slightly.

Unlike how he felt for others he couldn't bring himself to distrust her even if he wanted to.

It felt as though he had a bond with someone he had known all his life like a mother or sister, whereas he didn't know a single thing about her.

If he was to rate his trust in her it would be at 97% which was something scary to someone with experiences like his.

He also found out that even though it seemed to be English from his point of view, he was actually speaking and understanding a totally different language.

Today, his routine was going to change as an important announcement was to be given about an hour from now and everyone's presence was required.

Shaking all these thoughts from his head, he leaped away from the bodies of the dead beasts before stretching out with the bloodied dagger which was held by his bloodied hand.

He found running from the mansion to the forest and back much more useful than entering a vehicle.

So that's what he usually does, and he kept getting faster every day.

In order to perform the best possible way in accordance with his stats his body needs to be in a very good condition, something that he still lacked, so his speed and agility weren't the best of the 31 stat points he currently had.

He studied the environment while running and was sad to say that this place has gotten really....lonely.

He found himself at the top of the food chain in this area, or more appropriately put, since he was this was the territory of wolves, he had become the Alpha who was driving them all into extinction.

He was a true tyrant to them and he always loved it when he was challenged for the crown which happened every day. Sometimes he even got challenged by many of them at the same time, but he was a generous Alpha so he accepted them all with open arms.

Today wasn't different and just when he thought it might be over, he got challenged again.

Mid-way to the mansion a black wolf stood in his path, growling with so much fierceness that he believed that he might've killed its dual cultivating partner.

He shook his head in pity. "You must've had it rough eh? Fear not, I shall make it quick and painless.

During this time Art realized something. He was very reactive, negatively of course, to missing, or the word 'You missed'.

It reminded him about the moment which was the most regretful moment of his life. Even he was surprised at how angry he gets

So whenever delivering a blow, he made sure it served its purpose.

He didn't stop running, even increasing the speed he was moving while spinning the dagger in his hand. Seeing this the wolf also charged at him in fury.

They kept drawing closer and just as they got 5 meters close to each other, they both leaped forward exchanging quick attacks.

Art landed on the ground, continuing to run while touching the shallow cut mark on his face which had a trickle of blood.

"Not bad," he muttered while looking at the notification on the golden screen in front of him.

[You killed F-rank wolf: +10 EXP]

Just after, a thud was heard behind him.
