Chapter 1: Not my type

"Aria, hurry up. We are going to be late," she heard from her room.

Aria looked at her reflection in the mirror and smiled in satisfaction. It pleased her to see how gorgeous she looked. It made her feel happy with joy.

She wore a blue mermaid skirt with a cute crop top. Her jewelry was a set of matching pearl eating and a necklace. She did light make upon herself to look amazing and simple.

She reached out to her closer for her dolly shoes and put them on. Removing her phone from the charger, she opened the screen to see a message from one of her best friends Scarlet.

'Good luck at the party. Try not to get bored to death,' she read the message.

She sighed and kept her phone in her pocket. The party meant a lot to her mother and father, for them, she would just have to bear going to high-class parties with stupid Irish people who only care about themselves.

She walked out of her room and walked downstairs. She didn't dare to run, she was in no mood to be yelled at by her mother on how a proper lady should behave.

"I'm here," she said once she arrived before her parents.

"You look amazing my darling," her mother complimented her and she gave her a small weak smile. "Behave at the party," came the warning she was waiting for.

Her mother took her hand and together they walked out of the house. The driver opened the car door for them, they got in before he drove off.

"Why do I need to be there?" she asked her parents for the hundredth time.

"You are our daughter. As such you must stand by your parents," her father replied giving her the same answer she gets every time she is being forced to attend these parties.

She is a high born and such parties with all the important people in the country were normal for her. Even boring if she were to say so herself. She was feeling so restless with the long uneventful night that was ahead of her.

"We are here," the driver informed half an hour later. Aria looked out the window to the seven-star hotel that was to her right. The hotel was decorated so beautifully, it was attractive on the outside. Probably to fool commoners that something fun goes on inside, they should ask her to learn what happens at these parties.

"Shall we?" her father said offering his hand to her. She wrapped her hand around his while his mother took to his left and together they walked into the party.

The reporters outside the building went wild on seeing them. They took a lot of photos of the Sanders, right until they made it into the building.

"Aria Abellano, I don't want any trouble. Behave," her father warned as they went their separate ways.

Aria rolled her eyes at how dramatic her parents sounded. She moved to sit at the far end corner, away from all the crazies that judge people with their eyes and their words.

She took out her phone and started texting her friend to pass the time. She was furious with her, Scar had known about the party and faked being sick to avoid coming to the party with her family.

"Hi there," she looked up when she heard someone called to her.

She stared at the male who stood before her from head to toe. She recognized him at first glance as they go to the same school together.

"Hey," she said uninterested in the school's notorious playboy.

"You look beautiful tonight. May I seat?"

"Free country," she said giving him the option of walking away which was what she desired but refrained from voicing it out. She made a point of herself to stay away from boys like him and so far she had done an amazing job at it.

"Are you all alone?" he asked.

"No, I am surrounded by so many people. Can't you see them?" she asked sarcastically.

"Why are you so defensive towards me?" he questioned her. Aria had the answer to his question but remained quiet. He was a player and changed his girls as fast as he changes his clothes. She didn't want to be in the company of such boys.

"I need some fresh air," she said getting up from her seat. She did not wait for his reply.

Walking in the hallway of the grand hotel was lonely, everyone was at the party doing one thing or the other. She was the only person in the corridors. Not that she minded it much, it was better than associating with fake people who smile to your face be stab you when you turn around.

"Aria wait," she heard the same annoying voice call to her. She had no idea that Carlos Cabrero knew her name or why he was giving her so much attention tonight. One thing was certain, she didn't like it at all.

"What is it Carlos?" she asked in a tired voice stopping in her tracks.

"I'll accompany you," he spoke.

"I'm good thanks," she said hoping he gets the hint and leaves her alone.

"Come on Aria, chill," he said in what was supposed to be a sweet seductive tone but to Aria who was not interested in him, it sounded annoying and pushy.

"I was chilling and I will chill right after you leave me alone," she said turning away from him. Before she knew it, she he forcefully spun her around and pressed her to the wall.

"Relax, I don't bite," he said locking her between his arms.

"What do you think you are doing?" she raise her voice to ask getting irritated by him.

"Having a little fun. I know you want to," he said and leaned in for a kiss. Aria pushed him away from him and raised her hand to slap him. Her hand landed on his cheek harshly shocking the male.

"For your information, you are not my type," she said to him and rushed off.
