Chapter 2: Chapter Two

"What time do you call this, young lady? Did I not call you to come here immediately?"

Turning around as swift as wind, an annoyed face came to bear down at me.

"Yes, aunt. I'm sorry aunt," came my slightly muffled answer.

"Hmm, well don't let it happen again, do you understand? Now go over there and start making food, you know what an important day it is for my precious Dudders. Oh he's growing up…"

Nodding my head in answer resulted in my hair simply flying around and witnessing Aunt Petunia's infamous and rather unattractive pinched look.

Within half an hour the birthday breakfast had been served and is currently being devoured by the three individuals sitting around the rectangular table containing my aforementioned aunt and cousin as well a mirror image of a clothed walrus aka my uncle Vernon.

"My, my Pet, you have once again out done yourself."

Blotches of red appeared from the base of her long neck and travelled upwards before resting upon her high cheekbones.

"Well… I … thank you dear, I really...." Thankfully her inane blabbering halted to a stop with the clear announcement of mail had reached their ears.

"I'll go get it," I quickly state, making my swift escape from witnessing the joys of marriage. Urgh!

Exiting the kitchen, I walked through the hallway until I made it to the entrance of the spacious 4 bedroom house.

"Bills… bills… oh urgh and more bills. Wait, this one is from Aunt Marge (who thankfully isn't my real aunt, just Uncle Vernon's sister) and wait a minute what's this? It's addressed to … me.

Holding the thick paper… no parchment (?) in my hand I gently turned it around almost afraid that it would somehow disappear. Without knowing, I had walked back into the kitchen where I was broken out of my reverie when my delightful cousin ripped it away from my hands. Can you say paper cut?

"Hey, that's mine!"

I was met by scoffs and eye rolls.

"Yeah right! Who would want to talk to you?" came my Aunt's poisonous reply.

Glancing at her through my peripheral vision, I witnessed her turn an unflattering pale hue.
