Chapter 24: Lighting Thief Final
Percy, King, and Natsumi walked up Half-blood Hill ready to finish their quest. "Hey look King you didn't lose a weapon this time!" Percy said slapping King's back. "You are a jerk," King said looking back at Percy as he stayed floating on his pillow. "He does have a point all your weapons are in good condition all you have to do is some standard maintenance." Natsumi offered with a smile on her face. They crossed over the border and they heard cheers. "Welcome back Heroes," Chiron said with a smile on his face. His smile dropped a little when he saw King floating on a pillow. "King? Is that Chastiefol?" Chiron asked. "Yup! Isn't awesome I can take a nap anytime now." King said happily. ~No wonder you and Isobu get along so well you are both lazy and go-with-the-flow kind of people.~ Kurama told King. Isobu scoffed, ~If anything he should be more like you always taking a nap.~ King chuckled at their banter. "So that's what happened to the tree then." King raised an eyebrow at this. "What do you mean? What's wrong with the tree?" King asked. "Oh it was shaking and then a streak went across the sky I am assuming something happened on the quest that triggered Chastiefol." King nodded. "You would not believe what we went through," King said as he saw Annabeth and Grover walk up followed By Sally. "Well Ms J you should be all good to go home now. But here I got something for you." King said handing her the Lotus Hotel Cash Card. "This card has unlimited money just make sure you withdraw from it and never use the card itself. You should be able to get away from that Swine now." King explained. "Oh King I can't take this!" King waved her off. "Of course you can plus I don't need it," King said floating away.

Life in the Camp had returned to Normal. Percy had spent his time with Clarisse and Annabeth sharpening his sword skills and tactical thinking. King had spent his time training Hecuba and bonding with her. He also started to train Annabeth and Natsumi in runes and seals. "Today we are going to tap into your magical energies. This is what demigods who parents can use Elements to fight. It mainly happens over time. Like Percy and his water manipulation. But other times it has to be forced out. Today we will be doing that." Annabeth sat on a bench in the Auditorium taking notes furiously while Natsumi nodded understanding the basics. "How do we do that ?" Annabeth asked. "Well, it's through meditating. You try to feel a tug in your gut and pull on that energy. It can take some time but you can do it." Natsumi cut in with a smile. King took out a book and handed it to her. "Beginners Guide to Magic?" Annabeth said reading the cover. "Yes, Magic the usage of Mist manipulation, runes, and many other things." ~Also, Ceecee assumed Annabeth could learn magic so I'm going to test that theory.~ King thought to himself. "Read this once you are done we will try to tap into the magical energy you possess," King explained. After an hour of reading Natsumi, King, and Annabeth were now at one of the sparing grounds. "Okay get into a comfortable sitting position and close your eyes. Concentrate on the pull of the energies. Once you fill the pull tug on it!" King encouraged Annabeth. She nodded and did as she was told. King sat across from her in a lotus position. They sat there for almost an hour before Annabeth spoke up. "I can't do it. How can you sit still for so long!" King just opened his eyes with a smirk. "Because I enjoy napping so it's easy." Annabeth huffed. "I haven't felt anything since I've started this." King sighed. "Wait I have an idea," King said as he scooted closer to her. "What are you doing?" She asked. "It looks like he is going to inject his energy into you to convince yours to come to life. It is a common thing to do if someone can not stand meditation," Natsumi informed. King nodded, "Yup that is exactly what I am going to be doing." King placed his hand on her back closed his eyes and started to slowly stream Chakra into Annabeth.
"It feels cool but sturdy and yet warm at the same time." She said. "Yeah, my magical energies align with Water, Earth, and Fire. That is why the energy felt like that." Annabeth nodded she liked the way King's energy felt it was cozy. "Okay let me try again." King took his previous position. Annabeth sat there and felt around for her energy. After another hour she felt the energy and pulled. King opened his eyes he felt that she had made contact with her aura. ~That's it Annabeth bring it out.~ King thought. All of a sudden the aura came off of Annabeth at first it was a trickle but sooner it was like a heavy downpour. "It is a decent amount of energy if you ask me." Natsumi chirped up brightly. Annabeth opened her eyes with a huge smile. She hopped up excitedly and then started to fall exhausted. King appeared in front of her holding her piggyback style. "Good job Annie." "Thanks King." She said quietly as she snuggled up on his back falling asleep. He took her to the Athena Cabin and laid her in one of the beds. "Thanks for bringing her in," Matthew told King with a smile. "No problem she tired herself out tapping into her Magical Energy. She'll be up tomorrow." King explained as he walked away.
King trained Annabeth for the rest of June and into July. She had even taken up her studies by reading whatever she could find about the topic. Just as Ceecee predicted in the book she was very in tune with magic. She had been able to manipulate magic in the form of the mist to strengthen it. What she wanted to do was practice Runes. It took a while to get her handwriting down but once her calligraphy was acceptable King started her on her first rune the sealing rune. Things continued for King for a few days alternating between teaching Annabeth the basics and assisting Natsumi in her Kenjutsu. At the end of June Grover was ready to leave on his quest for Pan. "Do you have everything you need?" Annabeth asked like a mother. To which Grover rolled his eyes. "Yes, Mother I do." King and Percy snickered at the comment. "Well, this is it," Grover said looking out to the background around the barrier. "Good luck Grover and if you find any strong demigods don't call me," King said lazily. Percy openly laughed at King's comment. "Good luck out there G-man we will be waiting for you to come back," Percy said pulling Grover into a hug. "Grover catch," King said tossing him a bag of Senzu beans. "Eat one of you are in serious trouble it will heal you." Grover nodded appreciatively. "Bye, guys!" Grover said as he trotted off.
"Hey, King I have been thinking." Percy started. "No wonder I smelt something burning," King said laughing. "Has the prophecy finished?" "You shall go west to face the god who has turned, you shall find what was stolen and see it safely returned, you shall be betrayed by the one you call friend, And the Thread will lose something in the end," King spoke the prophecy. "Well, the first 3 lines came true what about the last one? What did you lose?" Percy asked. Annabeth looked at King equally confused. "Well, I lost my Hope. When I was down and beaten by Ares I lost my drive and I thought we all were going to die. So that's what I lost." King explained. "Oh." They both responded. ~I'll also lose my friend.~ King thought knowing what would happen next.
King was shadowing Percy today was the day of Luke's betrayal. He watched as Percy made his way to the training post and then followed Luke into the woods. He sat there and listened to Luke's rant and then he saw the Scorpion. It lunged at Percy. "Pollen Garden!" King yelled out as a moss dome covered Percy. King threw a Lions Dagger at the scorpion killing it.
"King!" Luke yelled out. "Luke I knew it was you," King said holding his Elucidator. "If you did why didn't you stop me," Luke asked. "Because I had hoped I was wrong but it looks like I wasn't. Please don't do this Luke we don't have to fight. Just surrender we can get Kronos' influence out of your head." "Stop talking! This is the god's fault! They did this!" Luke yelled. "No Luke please stop this. I don't want to fight you." King said. "Well too bad." Luke lunged at King which he easily countered and lashed a Luke. "You are not better than me!" Luke yelled. "Enough Luke you know you can not defeat me!" Luke glared at King with hate-filled eyes. He chanted something Greek under his breath and a pair of Hell hounds Appeared. King quickly dispatched them. When he looked where Luke was the boy was gone. "Troublesome Blonde," King said as he sheathed his sword and recalled Chastiefol. "Come on Percy we have to tell the camp."
Time Skip End of Summer
King, Natsumi, Percy, and Annabeth were on Half-Blood Hill. "So it's time for me to go," Annabeth said with her bag in her hands. A few weeks ago she got a message from her father wanting her to come visit. Today was the day she left. "So next summer we hunt down Luke," Annabeth said. "Yeah! We have to stop him before he goes too far." Percy said in agreement. Annabeth turned away and started to walk away. She heard some footsteps and turned and saw King. She gave him a questioning look. "What are you doing." "Remember what I said I told you I would come with you to San Francisco. So let's go." He said as he walked in front of her. "What about Kyria and Hecuba, Also I thought you were going to train Natsumi? And your stuff." "Kate has Hecuba, Matthew has Kyria, and I have all my stuff sealed," King explained. "I am going to hang around camp and spar with Clarisse and the rest of the Ares Kids that stay behind," Natsumi informed Annabeth. "Are you sure about this?" King nodded to which Annabeth showed a bright smile. ~I don't understand why are you going with her. We could be training with our Chakra.~ Isobu complained. ~There is something or rather someone in San Francisco I need to have a word with,~ King said.
The pair eventually made their way to San Francisco where King met Annabeth's Father. He spent 2 days with the Chase Family. On the third day at the house, Fredrick finally asked King something he wanted to know. "How come we haven't had monster attacks?" King sighed. "I am very talented in Runes. I can make a barrier surprising our demigod scent even if they did find us I could easily destroy most monsters." "Oh, that's handy. No wonder Annie likes you her mother was also attracted to men who use their brains to think." Fredrick said teasingly. Annabeth's face grew red as she yelled at her father. "Well, I have something to do in town today. So I'll keep the barrier up but I must be going." King said as he stood up. "Where are you going," Annabeth asked. "Just to the piers I'll be back later don't worry wise girl."
King was walking on the pier looking around. He had his aura concealed and was hiding his the Shadows. He finally spotted his prey and wrapped the target in his Chakra Chains preventing him from escaping. "What's happening." "You know exactly what is happening! This isn't the first time you have been in this situation." King explained stepping out of the shadows. "Now Nereus I have a question for you..."
