The way the devil said that sent chills down my spine. For some reason, I didn't get a good feeling about it.

"What surprise?" I asked, now more aware of my surroundings.

But the very next moment, I regretted ever asking that question.

My eyes widened, and my heart froze as people stepped out from behind him. Cody's blue eyes still looked as lifeless and hurt as they looked the last time I saw him, laying lifeless at my home.

Patrick Becker had disappointment written all over his face. Jason Finochi still held that wicked grin, and he licked his lower lip the moment he caught my eyes.
